This place is a fake ass Papa John. Stay away go to little Caesars and get a 5 dollar pizza. Way better than this place.

After years of being patrons o this establishment, I am done. We ordered a pizza online and it got delivered to someone else. After 4 calls in to try to find out what was happening, being hung up on each time(including by the manager) we still have not gotten a refund. Badly done, guys, badly done.

The is a much tried and true pizza joint. Been here a number of times and, as other reviewers have pointed out, this place is not part of the national chain. It’s been around since 1982 and there’s usually a good reason for that. The establishment is pretty basic as far as looks goes, but the pizza is much more than the get-by ‘gut-filler’ type produced by the little Greek guy slinging those ubiquitous, metal box-heated $ 5 discs. This Papa John’s pizza is made-to-order and there are little nuances like their pepperoni being the smaller type rounds that curl up when cooked which makes you appreciate the little nuances of how a local small business does things just a little bit different. The location I frequent in the strip mall by the library is pretty clean, bright, and ‘open air’. If you order in-house, you can see the employees making your pizza and it going through the conveyor oven very clearly. Their menu is pretty standard for a pizzeria, although one option up on their board that I’ve never seen is ‘extra dough’. I’m from NYC, eaten a lot of pizza there and beyond, and have seen much extra this and that, but not dough. Interesting. Throughout this whole review I have been intermittently eating the rest of our(honking in size) leftover breadsticks from last night, dipping them in their thick and tasy side sauce, typing, and relishing every bite. I am pretty much predicting the BF is going to profoundly regret he did not get to them before I did. Yeah, so definitely order the breadsticks people. I’m sad that I live an hour away and will not get to eat them again in a long while, usually when we swing by during a visit to family in the area. The feather in the cap of Papa John’s is the very personable and so-nice manager, Cory. He’s been working at PJ’s for eons and, if he has time to chat, leaves you with as good feeling in humanity as the food he serves up does in your belly. Great customer service is always on the forefront on his part and I don’t doubt he’s probably one of the reasons the place has been in existence since Reagan was in office. Support a local business and give Papa John’s a try! Meknows you will not regret it.

After verifying that I was, indeed, charged twice for my pizza, the money was happily refunded and I received an apology.

Finally gave this place a shot. It was not the best, nor was it the worst pizza we’ve recently crushed. It is a solid affordable option. The Triple Pleaser deal(Large, 2-topping, breadstix, 2-Liter) came to $ 13.00 and some change. The bread stix are crazy-bread-esque, but were better than expected. The order was ready upon pick-up within 15-minutes.

Not a bad pizza joint. Ordered here because was so sick of the lack of delivery restaurants in Lansing, especially pizza. Domino’s/Happy’s was getting old. Was very glad I ordered here. This is Lansing’s own chain, not the national chain and it is much better. The breadsticks are pretty decent, they use real parmesan cheese. Way better then Happy’s, I’d say slightly better or on par with Domino’s, but a local business.

Not bad, not great Pizza. Just your every day pizza, it’s kinda greasy with toppings on it. Goes down well with a beer. The breadsticks aren’t horrible, so feel free to get them. I’m mostly writing this review to let folks know this is «Lansing Papa Johns,» not the national chain. That chain is around locally, but goes by the name of Pizza Papianos.
