They have fresh and good quality mutton(goat meat). But call them before your visit.

The restaurant/hot food section of this store has closed or moved. I was told that it moved somewhere in East Lansing but haven’t been able to find it. The store itself is small and I’ve never bought anything there as I have no need for strictly halal ingredients and there isn’t much of a selection. The owners are very nice and friendly, so I am rating 3 stars for that… plus the memories of the delicious food I ate here.

Their food is fresh, good quality meat and super cheap! for only 7 dollars i got a container full of rice, 3 meat choices AND a vege side. Their samosas are really good as well! I will definitely recommend this place to anyone craving a mix bw indian-pakistani-somali food.

Lansing Ethnic Foods & Meats is a small local butcher and Middle Eastern grocery. I don’t eat meat, so I can’t attest to the quality of their butchery, but I have heard good things from carnivores. As a grocery, they are a wonderful and convenient addition to Lansing’s Eastside. They don’t have a huge selection like Swagath or Oriental Market do, but they carry quality products at very good prices. They have Middle Eastern and Indian spices, big sacks of rice, dried and canned beans, a large selection of imported sweets & cookies, giant jugs of olive oil(for cheap!), pita, naan, and some imported cheese and dairy. They basically stock the same goods as Jerusalem Bakery at slightly lower prices, but without Jerusalem Bakery’s phenomenal pitas and take-out falafel and wraps. I guess the big draw for most is the butcher, but for me it’s their location. They’re really close to my house and right next to Gone Wired, so I often find myself popping in there to pick up a few things to make dinner.
