Always a great place to grab a delicious sub! It’s the perfect remedy for a rough day after a long night! I highly recommend!

Jersey Giant is quite literally my favorite sandwich place in the world. I started going here back when I was in college, back before the remodel and when all of the new locations started popping up all around town. Since graduating I moved out of state but make it a point to stop by Jersey Giant every time I am back in town — I wish it was more often but when we do stop, we purchase multiple sandwiches, one for now, one for later, one for lunch the next day, one for a friend… we’ve seriously been spreading the love of Jersey Giant around Chicago and would love nothing more than to have a location pop up out here. All that being said, the bread is delicious, they cut the meat and cheese right in front of you, to your liking for your sandwich, and they absolutely do not skimp on the toppings — you ask for pickles and you are getting PICKLES on your sub. Prices have gone up over the years but for the amount of food you get, its well worth it. The menu selection has expanded over the years, which is cool but I still stick to my #14. If you haven’t stopped by one of their locations, your definitely missing out.

Really good subs, and they are Giants! Lol the jersey devil is really good and the meatball sub is excellent as well.

Bread is made fresh daily and the meat and cheese are freshly sliced when you order the sub. The portions are huge too. Very good locally owned sub place with Michigan State basketball and black and white pop culture posters on the wall.

‘The Boss’ is quite honestly the best sub I have ever had in my life. Especially with extra dressing! Mmmm. Service is always great. Prices are a little low for the quality and quantity of the food, so that’s great too.

This is the best one because they added the new York style hot sandwiches to the menu.

Absolutely terrible service. I’ve been here a few times and the food is decent but I’ve stopped going because of terrible management and customer service. Went in on a slow sunday afternoon with a couple in front of me in line. After we watch as the 4 employees work on 1 catering order for 5 minutes, the manager finally looks up and apologizes for the delay. okay, finish up and order and it’s no big deal… but after finishing 5 – 6 sandwiches, they begin making another 4 or 5 sandwiches before addressing any of our orders. Are walk-in customers just not as important as catering? Walked out and went across the street to Panera — I’m never going back to Jersey Giant again.

This place is great! When I arrived I was greeted by the person behind the counter who took our order. After taking our order he then continue to lay out all the breads necessary to make our sandwiches. First he took the ham out and sliced enough meet for each sandwich and laid on the bread. He then took the next meat and then continued to cut and build the sandwich as ordered. Once the meats have been placed on the bread you then selected additional toppings and condiments to place on your sandwich. After the sandwich was built he then placed the finished gigantic sandwich on a large piece of butchers paper and wrapped it up. We had ordered three sandwiches and ripped the bag while attempting to lift it up. I would suggest using two hands while attempting to lift up these humongous sandwiches or else you will rip your bag and drop all the submarines on the ground. These are gigantic sandwiches that you can surely share with a friend.

I’ve been a fan since college. The interior remodeling is nice but it lost some of its character. However, you still can’t beat the flavor or value! Have a Jersey Giant and you’ll never go to Subway again.

I have been a fan of Jersey Giant for probably 15 years. I ALWAYS get the number 14, turkey salami and cheese. I was so happy when they added the whole wheat bread. No other sub place in town can compete with their bread. Quick service and tasty meat, although their veggie selection is lacking. I highly recommend JG if you want to grab a quick lunch or dinner at a good price. Oh and their subs are huge, so plan on taking half of it home or sharing with a friend.

You can read most of the other reviews to figure out which sub is for you. It’s not exactly«top quality» or anything, but it is a great deal. I think they use GFS lunch meats(nothing special there), but the bread is soft and delicious, and the toppings always fresh and, um, plentiful. In sum, here’s what I like about this place: 1. Yes, they really are freaking huge. For $ 8 – 9, this is the best value in giant subs anywhere(and I used to love another, but at double the price!). 2. Service is fast and courteous. Not sure if I’m picking better times than others, but even with a few folks in front of me, I’m in and out in under 5 – 6 minutes. Have you seen how fast that one guy can slice? And they’re always friendly to me. 3. It’s a long-standing, local business. I don’t know the owners, but I often see their community efforts featured here and there. Said 33 years young on their FB page. That’s reassuring. And not something I’ve ever seen a Subway owner step up and do — donate, serve, etc., that is.(Note to Subway owners: don’t email me if you do, just make sure your customers know. When I can get an $ 8 Jersey Giant, I don’t need to even wonder what the $ 5 footlong is this month.) 4. And if you have a safe place for your receipts, save ‘em — you can actually get a free one! 5. Parking. Lots of parking! Just wish they were open later…

I was refused service today when the guy making subs didn’t like where I had parked. I didn’t park in a ‘no parking’ zone, or any other sign showing that parking was not proper. Aside from being belittled infront of others, it sucks that such a great place is full of assholes. It sucks, that after 20 years of being a customer to this place, the relationship is now destroyed.

I think this is my favorite place for subs! Great food and friendly staff. My fav is the #8 with all the dressings!

Drool! Jersey Giant is Subway’s sexy older brother with capicola and prostini and for some reason very flavorful cheese. Their wheat bread is the best of all the chains. It’s not something I can eat every day, because I care about my thighs, but if I’m going to buy a sandwich I’ll usually pick JG. I tend to avoid this location though. I’ve waited about thirty minutes on two separate occasions, being the third person in line both times. They have an odd practice of making everybody’s sandwich at the same time. So if there are eight people in line, you have to wait for the last person’s sandwich before you can get yours. I’ve never seen this done at the other JGs. I get the theory — they’ll save time putting the meats away in between orders, etc… but it’s not good for customer service. It’s really annoying!

This may seem like a silly question, but how is a sandwich place out of bread? I am normally a fan of this Jersey Giant’s. However, today, when I arrived, about 7pm, there was a handwritten note on sandwich paper, «SORRY, OUTOFBREAD.» I was not the only disappointed customer– I sat there for a few minutes and saw 8 cars come and go. So, instead of my sandwich, I went to Ya Ya’s Flame Broiled Chicken, next door. Incidentally, Ya Ya’s was not out of chicken.

Whats not to love? Huge subs on delicious, fresh bread. I love the number five, yummy capacola, ham and provolone. I get mine with mayo, extra lettuce and tomatoes. Dee-licious! This place has gone through some renovations lately due to a fire next door. it looks very spacious and nice since then. Also, the meatball sub(8″) is quite craveable on its own!

Great sub. Something about a Jersey Giant sub that makes it better than other subs. Even with limited toppings. I normally get a whole on half(on whole wheat). That is where they put a whole sub’s worth of meat and cheese on half the bread. Fantastic. As to toppings, I go with the oil/vinegar, onion, oregano and pepper. Perfect. Every time. Even after 10+ years, I can’t believe there isn’t a Jersey in downtown EL.

Jersey Giants are the best subs hands down! I have been to almost every location and all are great; but this is the one I went to for the first time back in the mid 90s and the taste has never changed. The quality and service are always top notch! The meats and cheeses are sliced fresh right in front of you, which really adds to the whole experience. Especially when you get served by someone who is really a pro and can make your sub within seconds. The original«Jersey Giant» has always been my favorite, but you have to get the original toppings with oil, vinegar, salt, pepper, and oregano. Don’t ruin it with sauces! It’s not Subway… you don’t have to cover up the flavors with extra stuff. The simpler the better! I have lived in California for 3 years and have yet to find anything that compares to Jersey’s. Every time I am home to visit, I always make a stop at one of the locations to get my fix! This business is fantastic I hope they never change a thing!

Fantastic subs that you can eat over course of 2 – 3 meals(or 1 sitting if you choose). The bread is incredibly fresh & soft. Their prices are pretty reasonable, too. Will try the S. Lansing location soon & report whiter it’s the same delicious result…(note:must squeeze in as much Jersey Giant as possible before moving).
