We stayed here one night. The clerk who checked us in misrepresented what he wanted me to sign; he said it was an agreement to not smoke and a promise to not bring pets into the building. However, it was an agreement releasing the hotel from all responsibility if any of my items, including the car, were damaged or stolen. While I was reading the paper the clerk kept asking me, «Is there a problem? Is everything okay?» When I told him what the paper truly said he became defensive and rude, going as far as refusing to tell me how to find my room and where to park. I gave 2 stars because the morning staff was kind and helpful, the breakfast was okay, and the room was nice. Moving forward, whenever visiting my son at school I will choose to stay in Kansas City.

No WI-FI! I came to town for business and can’t work in my room! When I asked about it they didn’t seem to care and had obviously heard the complaint before. They offered to move me to the 2nd floor where the signal«might» be stronger. Also, my fire alarm went off at 6:30 am which was set off by the steam. Weak! And, no one is ever at the front desk. Having said all that, the rooms are nice and clean. But, since I’m traveling for business I can find a better hotel in town that will meet my needs. I’m also recommending to my company that we never send anyone to this hotel again.

I stayed here for a week with my family while we were fixing up our family farm in Leavenworth, and we had a pretty nice stay! The staff was very nice, and we experienced great service during our time here. They had a computer station where you can print things, but when the printer stopped working, the front desk attendant helped us check into our flights and print our boarding passes! This hotel also provides a lot of «extras» for free, including free breakfast and afternoon cookies. The free food was especially helpful to us since we were pretty busy during our stay. Also, the hotel has a pool, jacuzzi, and gym that are accessible with your room key. It’s also about a 30 minute drive from the Kansas City airport.

Although overall the Holiday Inn was okay for a work trip to Fort Leavenworth, I highly recommend staying at a hotel near the airport(I moved to the Hyatt Place Kansas City Airport). There isn’t a lot of traffic when travelling to/from base(takes about 30 minutes per way) and there’s just more options available(Zona Rosa mall, Target, Panera Bread, Five Guys, etc). Service: Good. The front desk staff was friendly; however, I could not check in at 1500. They said the rooms were not ready and I had to wait another 30 minutes in the lobby before I could check in. Lodging: The hotel and room were clean. There weren’t too many electrical outlets available in the room(I had to unplug the alarm clock) and the plate for the only availabe outlet was loose. Amenities: Breakfast is great for those on the go. The drinks and yogurt are all in individual-sized containers and they had a lot of pastries/muffins for grab n go. They also had hot items and cereal if you had time to sit and eat. The exercise room was very minimal and had just 3 machines(I think a treadmill, elliptical, and something else).
