Do not do business with this unreputable company. We had the same experience that a few others describe. In early summer, Custom Lawn Care was in our yard without our permission, or so we thought. We had them out last year and requested they not put us on a automated service. They agreed to service our yard as we requested, only when called to do so. We have called numerous times this summer, telling them we were not paying for a service we did not request. We were told over and over that the bill would be deleted. The bills kept coming. Today, I spoke to Paul, a Custom Lawn Care representative. He said to check their envelope, which states the service is continual. So, in other words, when you send a check in payment of a service, that service becomes continual whether or not you requested. He finally agreed to «allow» us to pay half, which, by the way, is more than the applications we had been receiving from another company! We paid the bill so they would stop threatening us. This company is corrupt. DON’T DOBUSINESSWITHTHISCOMPANY! I will be writing to the Michigan Attorney General and the Better Business Bureau to complain. If I could have given this company no stars, I would have done so.

Allow me to first state that I am an engineer, and had done my own lawn for years. Over the past 5 years, I’ve tried multiple services and all have been adequate. I’ve used this company for 1 year and was not happy with the product or application. Their product caused grass to green rapidly, but while neighbors with other services lawns remained green for up to 2 months, my lawn lightened much sooner. Further, application technique regularly caused striping. Upon contacting customer service, they said all the right things, but nothing really improved. I had prepaid in full for 7 total applications last year. Typically, the company calls you toward the end of winter and aligns with you on needed services. Not this company. After I decided to fertilize my own lawn in mid April, I came home to a guy fertilizing my lawn. I explained that no one had called me and I never signed or prepaid for this year. The tech stated this was his fourth customer today that had the same issue. He stated this company regularly does this in order to force customers to stay and just pay. Upon calling the manager and politely explaining that I was never contacted, she stated there is fine print that their company has a continuation policy. She stated although I never signed or verbally committed, that the fine print holds me liable for their service. She said a collection agency would be contacting me if I did not pay. I had asked to meet half way, even though I feel it was their fault and I should not be liable. She would not budge and said I would be contacted soon by a collection agency. I hope folks read this and make a smart decision to choose a reputable company for lawn services. This company treated me poorly throughout! I would have given 0 stars, but this site forced me to at least give a 1 star. .
