Great place stopped here based on Unilocal reviews for lunch so glad we did. The food was very fresh. We had the rueban aracini balls to start super tasty and then the Mediterranean chicken pita which was a special. wishing but glad it’s not an everyday item as I would be going often. My son had a turkey sandwich which was made of fresh carved turkey and quite large. He took ½ home. They have delicious home made fries to go with. Cute, clean and friendly staff. Will have to back for breakfast as that looked to have some savory choices.

Really great fare at The Avenue. Fairly priced delicious local eatery made by a friendly and talented chef. I’ve attended a couple of their Friday night dinners and breakfast once. This is a place I will continue to go to and explore the menu. Vegetarian/pescetarian friendly. Cute atmosphere and fresh food that isn’t just pulled from a freezer and deep fried – how refreshing.

The food is generally good and the presentations excellent but service is too slow(appears to be an understaffing problem). As long as you have time to spare it’s a fine place to eat and socialize… the locals like to meet there.

Always drive by this place. One day decided to go inside to check it out. Lansdown me doesn’t have many good places to eat at all. As soon as I entered the place it seemed clean. People were very nice and welcoming. We sat down wherever we wanted and waitress brought our menus quickly. Good menu selection. Food looked fresh upon arrival. I liked how there were vegetarian meals. Pricing was reasonable. It’s too bad they aren’t open for dinner. But I do like how they have dinner events sometimes. I would recommend this place and can’t wait to go back.

One of my favorite places I’ve been to in a long time… The Reuben arancini(excuse my spelling) was incredible and the Reuben was out of this world… Didn’t know why to expect in the area and found this great hidden gem!

I’ve only eaten here once, but got take-out a couple of times; had Sunday brunch with my hubby there this morning; his smoked trout was divine, and he loved it; I ordered the corned-beef hash, something I would not normally order anywhere, but the description on the menu was enticing. It said there were roasted jalapenos in it, but mine had no kick at all; and she asked if I wanted the eggs poached, and I asked for them fried, but they were fried to death-the yolks were hard. I needed that liquid yoke to give some«juice» to the hash-it was very dry, and had a touch of cinnamon to it; I did not care for the cinnamon, I want my hash to be savory, not sweet! The ingredients were nice and fresh and it could have been good. Other food I have ordered for take out in the past was very good, including the pesto chicken salad-I don’t know if they still serve that. NB: I am a NY Jew, so I am very fussy about my deli food.

This is seriously one of my favorite spots to eat. They have daily specials and their food is always delicious. Their homemade dishes and fresh ingredients make it a great experience every time. Sometimes the service lacks a little but overall a great place to eat.

I’ve been a regular at Avenue since they first opened and I absolutely love it. I appreciate that they have veg options, and note them on the menu but it would be fantastic if they had more vegan options. My go-to vegan meal is the chickpea spinach fritter without the yogurt sauce. Or the Tofu sandwich without the dressing and slaw. The staff is friendly and attentive. I would say to steer clear of brunch on saturday and sundays, as it gets super busy and there is not enough staff or space to accommodate everyone.

A friend showed me this gem recently, and wow! Really delicious menu with emphasis on fresh ingredients, and a lot of options(especially considering the smallness of the menu!) for those with dietary restrictions. Bonus points for Doctor Brown’s Cel-Ray soda — trust me, it’s delicious! — and free beers.

I am confused as to why two reviews mention vegan items. On my visit there were vegetarian items available, but nothing vegan – they contained either eggs or dairy. Either our server was mistaken(I hope this is the case, she left a bad impression anyway) or the servers for the others misinformed them, which would be just awful. Our meals were lackluster. Disappointing. (Fresh, local, and seasonal are generally referring to ingredients that are entirely vegan, no? I’ve not heard of a seasonal egg or seasonal cow flesh.)

This is NOT your average deli, friends. It’s deli done by people who have decided to crank up the flavors, offer some novel twists on the deli classics, and who offer a good value. The exterior doesn’t jump out at you in any way, but the interior is clean, bright and attractive, with retro barn lights over the counter and tables. Restrooms are also spotless. The menu offers some classic deli sandwiches, but also notes several selections which are gluten free or vegetarian. My work colleague had a corned beef sandwich, and it was so large he ate only half and took the rest home. He said it was delicious. I chose from the«snack» list and enjoyed corned beef, swiss, sauerkraut, and Russian dressing over french fries. It was PLENTY for lunch, and clearly more than a «snack» unless you are a lumberjack by trade. it was not only gluten free, but everything was prepped to perfection, and you could taste each of the ingredients nicely melding into the whole. Good, home-brewed iced tea complimented the meal. Two really filling & delicious lunches w/beverage for about $ 26 plus tip, seemed like a good value, given that the quality, service and atmosphere here is way above your typical diner or deli. Highly recommended in downtown Landsdowne, PA.

Food is decent. Service is too. This is a nice little spot in the heart of Lansdowne. There is free parking behind the building. The atmosphere seems really chill and relaxed. I always get the Jewish Wedding Soup when I’m here. I’ve had their burger, corned beef reubin, turkey and a few other sandwiches. They have all been good. Give this place a try! 4 stars!

Fantastic food, my wife and I go there often. The menu is constantly updated, but good staples are there too. Ingredients are great, people are great, we love it. Since we live in Lansdowne, it is our go to when friends and family come to town too. Take out or eat in(and BYO) it is great. Separately, it is great to see such a high quality restaurant come to Lansdowne.

Quite a nice surprise, I discovered the Avenue at the suggestion if a friend. The corned beef special was truly pleasing and a good value for the price, and the service too was pleasingly above average. I was also impressed at the variety on the menu, my friend being a vegetarian being able to also find something satisfying and presented beautifully. I’m sure I’ll be back. A little hidden gem in Lansdowne!

3 star food, 1 star service: I went here with an out of town friend due to a recommendation made by a friend – we were pretty dissapointed with our entire experience. While the gentleman at the counter was friendly and said hello – he was the only one. The entire wait staff seemed not pleasant, did not say hello/goodbye, did not interact with us at all. In fact, the first engagement I had with my waitress was«BEHIND» when she was coming behind me with plates… no «excuse me» or «thank you»…I just found that very rude. When we were seated, our waitress again did not say hello or welcome us to the establishment. She just took our order and left. The food came out and it was alright – nothing to write home about. We finished our food and paid in the front of the restaurant. They make you pay on an iPad app, which is OK, but very awkward because the same waitress checked us out and said«feel free to leave a tip for how much you want» and so she would clearly see what she would be given, instead of it being a more confidential process where we can truly give what we feel our service deserved. Also the app itself is deceptive about only showing 18%+ tip options. At least the waitress said thank you after receiving the tip and giving us our receipt… no have a nice day. Ultimately, based on this experience, I would not come back again. The entire staff needs to be better trained in good customer service and better engagement with their customers. It was just not a good experience, and compared to the other breakfast/brunch spots in the area, it just doesn’t compare, which is a shame because their food is good.

I’ve heard good things about the Avenue Deli so I was pretty pumped to try it out. We came here at about 2PM on a Saturday for lunch. The girl that told us to sit anywhere seemed friendly, as did the rest of the staff, but our waiter seemed nervous. He was really nice, but not especially confident. Upon arrival, he let us know that they were out of turkey.(A deli is out of turkey? Okay. Weird, but we’ll deal.) I was bummed out about this, because I was planning on ordering the turkey reuben. Instead, I ordered the roasted vegetable quinoa salad and a side of latkes. M got the Jewish wedding soup and the kale caesar salad. Our waiter came back to let me know that they were out of the roasted vegetable quinoa salad, but they still had some of the roasted corn quinoa salad(a special), so I went with that instead. It was okay, nothing about it really stood out. M liked the soup, but was unhappy with the salad. He was hoping for a nice, hearty kale salad but it looked like they may have used a mix of baby kale and romaine.

Three little words… amazing — egg– sandwich. Met a friend here for the first time last weekend and I now know what I was missing all this time! I always look for new breakfast places and this one is a true gem. Also serves lunch and dinner which means I hit the trifecta. Service was great, parking free and food was heaven. If you are like me and eat out a lot and always looking for new places, this is a must try. I will be back.

Update. An employee wrote that they DO make the corned beed in house, and don’t just cut and heat it. My suggestion would be to use much less coriander in it, as it did have much more of an «irish» taste to it. It is a good place to go, will have to try other menu items next time. One more star for in house cooking! — — — — — — — – Did not dig their Corned Beef, nor the Jewish Wedding Soup. The Corned Beef was NOT made in house — confirmed by my Waitress. Way, way too much coriander, it seemed more Irish than Jewish corned beef. The soup was pretty much tasteless. Bright side were the fries. Really good fries, and the rye bread was great also. But don’t advertise on your menu that your food is all homemade, cause it is NOT. Nice atmosphere, and I would come back to try their Cannoli stuffed french toast. That’s got to be great!
