I went here to get my hair dyed, a bang, and a blow dry and flat iron. I have natural hair. I waited 25 minutes before the stylist called me back. After the dye was applied, the stylist disappeared for 45 minutes. I didn’t get my hair washed until 15 min after the timer buzzed. The stylist asked if I wanted a trim. I agreed. Well, I was charged 50 dollars for that, which is the price for a haircut! She gave me a good trim, but it was a trim and not a haircut and I didn’t even get the bang I came to get because she was rushing and forgot. Yes they can blow out and style African American hair. The color is beautiful, but I would never pay 50 for trims… ridiculous!

This place is very professional and friendly. The stylist are very knowledgeable and the best in town.

I found this salon completely on a whim and was more than pleased with my experience.
Last minute, I decided that I wanted to have a blowout for a Saturday night event. I happened to drive by Breathe, read the Unilocal reviews, gave them a call and they were able to fit me in with Katie D.
From the minute I parked, everyone was friendly and accommodating, including George who provide me with the best shampoo and fun conversation!
Katie D. did an amazing job – my hair looked fantastic and I was in and out of the salon in less than an hour.

I am picky. I admit it. I had a family emergency over the weekend and needed to find a salon for a press and curl QUICKLY, before flying out for a business trip. I called Breathe and they gave me an appointment for only a few hours later. Lifesavers! Before making my appointment, I asked if they had experience with african-​american hair and they reassured me that everyone at the salon has tons of experience with ethnic hair. When I took the appointment, my thought was how bad could it possibly be?
Now let me tell you, I’ve had HORRIBLE experiences at «urban» salons. I’ve been brought almost to tears as some assistant is ripping out my hair because they simply don’t know what they’re doing blowing out my natural hair. (And I’m a tough girl!)
David, the owner, is a pro. I have long, thick, easily tangled natural hair and he said «don’t scare me!» And let me tell you, it was a quick and painless process and I walked out looking like a million bucks. It was well worth a 30 minute drive and reasonably priced.
But don’t come in droves because I want to be able to get another appointment.

I have been going to Breathe Salon for two years. Katie does a wonderful job with my cut, color and straightening. She listens to me and understands what I want. She also cuts my children’s hair and colored my daughter’s ends in a beautiful pink. They love going there. The support staff are super friendly and are always willing to get me anything I need. Every visit is a relaxing experience.

I’ve been coming here since 2003 and never left dissatisfied. Every person I refer has walked away happy and impressed.
The owner, David, and his team stay current with hair products, techniques, treatments and styles. I TRUST David to the point that most times I let him have fun with my hair and create a style. His cuts are so good that one particular time I had not been to the salon in 3 months and still received compliments on my hairstyle! :-)

I got the worst haircut of my life her. They do not listen at all and just cut your hair however they feel it would look best. Oh and you’ll get all kinds of remarks on how this side of your face is the better side and how your face is or isn’t symmetrical. I’m normally not the type of person to get too upset with a bad haircut but I was in tears after this one (which cost $ 60). I went back in and they refused to fix it or give me my money back. Won’t make that mistake again.

Breathe Salon is a great local place for women especially if you’re african american. Not many salons here cater to black woman, but the employees here know what they’re doing & are very good at making sure you get done only want you want with your hair. It does get a bit pricey after getting a relaxer if you get your hair cut & styled too, but I say it’s worth it for the condition my hair comes out afterwards. I’ve only be there twice so far, and it’s just been excellent
