Alderfer Glass Company

Who knew a 30-​something would have so many glass needs, but I’ve been to Alderfer for a windshield replacement, to get a piece of glass cut to size for a plant stand, and to have a panel of our sliding glass patio door replaced. Each time I have dealt with the company they’ve been efficient and professional.
I was a little worried about how it would be to have a huge pain of glass replaced in our sliding glass door in the dead of winter (but that’s how we roll, we like to do home improvements at inconveniently inclement times), but the technician had the old window out and the new glass in in just a few minutes. He was there for an hour or so completing the job, but it was great to not have cold air leaking into our house during that entire time. Furthermore, he was super friendly and we felt comfortable having him in our house.
Finally, I find their costs to be more than fair. Every time I go to them for a quote I brace myself but I’m always pleasantly surprised about how reasonable the cost ends up being. It’s my go-​to for all of my glass needs!

Called them last week. Told them I had an emergency in that a window just cracked and was putting house up for sale. The estimator who came told me it would be weeks before they could put me in the schedule but when I called that afternoon I was told we will do it as soon as we can.
I need all told 6 window panes replaced. The cost was very fair and they came within a day. The fellow who came (Brian) was very nice, left a clean room and did a nice job,
I went to put on some weatherstripping over a gap in the frame and saw one of the window panes was not quite affixed in a corner (slightly pulling away) I called and Brian came right back over and explained it took time for the putty to dry. I did nto know that (obviously ((*_​*)) and felt a little silly calling him back but he was fine with it, apologized said probably should have explained that but he was glad I called since I had the concern,
I would use them again in, as they say, a New York minute.

I scheduled online to have my windshield replaced where they quoted a price that was lower than Safelite and AAA. They called and emailed first thing in the morning to have me drop off the car the same day. I think the scheduling is from the Telford office, but they were expecting me in Lansdale. The building was clean with easy parking, and looked more like a commercial windows and door glass provider. I did have to leave my car all day as they said it would take 4 hours. Additionally, there was a $ 22 molding cost not included in the online quote, but the scheduler notified me of this prior to scheduling me. Overall it was a good experience and I would use them again.

What crummy service I got from these guys! After scheduling an appointment with them early one Friday to replace a windshield on my older car, I get there to find that I was «not in the book». When I called after lunch I was told that the «guy who was there couldn’t do the work» and that «maybe they could get to it on Monday». Thanks but no thanks, pals, even though they cost me about 3 hours of my time and aggravation. Get with the 20^th century, folks!
