My wife and I love staying here! Great spa and amazing views! A great place to relax and recharge the batteries. We wish we could get back more often.

Delightful experience at the restaurant here, with emphasis on the word«experience.» The setting is intimate — seating for perhaps 20 people maximum, the kitchen is wide open and part of the space, and you are served food by all of the folks(including the chef). The food is very good and unique. Excellent flavors and innovative presentations. And I would recommend the wine pairing. The entire meal lasts ~2.5 hours, and it does not feel long or drawn out.

Fantastic weekend get away. Out your private balcony you cans see the most spectacular sunrises and curl up with a blanket in the evening for a spectacular star gazing night. The food is great as well.

I wrote a three star review on 9⁄22 complaining about the sleeping accommodations of our cottage and the Manager, Matt, went out of his way to reach out to us and make this right. He was cordial and helpful and made a more than generous correction to the billing amount(which was neither solicited nor expected). This treatment is much appreciated and I am happy to post a five star review and will be back there to utilize this type of hospitality.

Beautiful experience! There are restaurant meals and there are experiences. Both of which involve food, amazing food even made from quality products, beautiful settings, skillsets in making intricate dishes using variety of tasty morsels. Be it a fine dining restaurant with beautiful white linens all around or that one tiny hut on the dirt road you found in the middle of Thira that uses fire pit to cook everything. Or maybe that one place on sukumvit in Thailand because they make the best seafood meals past wee hours using one pot while you save your feet from getting run over by the tuks tuks. Memorable meals always consist of unique experiences. And this place: this place definitely made my top twenty. Everything was beautiful from start to finish. Must be that I was in celebratory mood since we came here for our anniversary! Or the charm of this wonderful secluded town, amazing people at the front desk or the beautiful, charming inn itself and locally source food and wine pairing all came together in making that one perfect evening. Getting here was a hassle with the ferry being overbooked and sold out but once I reached here, I was at complete ease. We made it right on time for our seven pm dinner. We even had enough time to explore and take pictures around the inn. Reception: champagne reception in the front garden was charming and set the tone of the evening. A beautiful one at that. Once you are inside: dinner start promptly at 7 pm. We were seated by the entrance and windows overlooking the garden. Dinning room was right next to the open kitchen. One can see, smell, feel and be part of the unique meal! They have two different wine pairings: chef pairing is $ 95 extra but comes with 5 tastings and an option to revisit any wine you chose. Or the $ 55 for three tastings. You can also choose to do bottles of red, white, champagne or rose from their extensive list of wine. I wanted something light, pink and French but dry. My maître brought me exactly what I want in a beautiful bottle. it was a perfectly dry rose! On to the dinner portion: we started with many beautiful things. There were beet salad and goat cheese made into magical little bites. Manhattan ~ the drink injected into a cherry. French onion soup in a bite size dough like ball, raviolo in edible film. All so beautiful! My favorite~ artichoke custard with fresh caught Dungeness crab and chicken skin. Made to perfection. It is sweet, savory, crunchy, soft, crispy, rich and all kinds of amazing. We had over 9 courses of beautiful things. I ooh and ahh to most of them. Chef came out and explained to us what we were eating. He even brought the wine bottles and such. It was a four person run dinner for 18 lucky guests. Attention to details feel that much more intensified. One can taste the love in these dishes! And yet, its word of mouth only place. And cutting off the decorative balls to serve as the dessert? Magic. All in all, it definitely was a beautiful experience for me. Everything from the little name cards t tiny radish, clams, lamb loins, trio of fun and grandmas purse were perfect. Food is important part of our lives. I’m a little more obsessive in the sense that I can not share a meal with people I don’t enjoy. I also will skip a meal that I am not thrill about and drink coffee instead. Because, it is better to feel hungry and be full on mediocre food. This place however gave me the most beautiful food, amazing service and one incredible evening. So much so that I ate every bite! Never thought it could happens. But it did :) Thanks Chef, staff and everyone! Thanks for a beautiful evening!!! And thanks for making our anniversary feel so special! We can’t wait to return.

What a beautiful surprise! Stayed two amazing nights… the weather was perfect enough to have the double doors open to our balcony all evening; to hear the waves rolling onto the beach… even had a fire in the room’s quaint fireplace. Amazing views! Sunrise and sunsets inspire the not so photographer to snap pictures! Upon arrival, our pre-ordered wine(which the staff helped pick out — PERFECT!) and cheese plate was waiting along with a hand written card that welcomed both of us. The room was clean and refreshing with clean linens and the most comfortable bed and comforter we have had. The bathroom was spacious and modern with an open shower that had views of the beach and sound — beyond expectation; along with the neighboring Jacuzzi tub that was romantic enough to make you blush. We had the complimentary breakfast each morning, which was thoughtful for the gluten free folks but hearty enough for us that need something more. The morning breakfast staff was so thoughtful and catered to our every request… even suggested fun things to do nearby on the island. We ordered the picnic basket for our adventures on the islands — what a treat!!! Every person on staff we encountered ensured we were taken care of. Our only regret was that we did not attend Chef Matt’s dinner — next time we will make sure we indulge even more! Do not pass up this fantastic place… RELAXANDENJOY!

My husband and I both loved our experiences at the Spa at the Inn at Langley. From the minute we arrived, it was a very soothing atmosphere. When we arrived we had a change in our schedule and they accommodated us so nicely. Everyone was so professional and at the same time very friendly. My skin felt so amazing after the facial and it was so very relaxing. It was wonderful that it also included treatments on my hands and feet. Michael’s massage was awesome and was so refreshing, not a single kink left anywhere. We really enjoyed being able to start the treatments with a steam bath and and end with a delicious cup of tea and fantastic chocolate while enjoying the amazing view. Thank you for a wonderful experience and we would highly recommend this to everyone.

Absolutely fantastic inn! Incredible people, the scenery was beyond beautiful(even if it was the off season and alas we didn’t see any whales), and the food was amazing. Did the big weekend dinner with Chef Matt Costello which was unbelievable(as expected), but the biggest surprise treat was the stellar breakfast every morning. I want to marry that woman who prepares it every morning. Seriously. Strongly recommend!

My boyfriend took me here for a surprise romantic weekend getaway last year and we had an incredibly relaxing weekend just the two of us. This place is rustic elegance at its finest. The Inn is just steps away from the town and the building is gorgeous, from the little pond with the lovebird penguins to the trees that surround the hotel. We came in on a Thursday night, the lady who checked us in at the front desk with the New Zealand accent is lovely and sophisticated, like everything about the Inn. Our stay included movie tickets to the town’s theater, breakfast, and complimentary use of their bikes to ride around town. Our room was in the corner, with a big jet bathtub that looks out at the ocean, a deck to sit and smell the sea, and a cozy fireplace to cuddle up in front of. In the morning we enjoyed a marvelous breakfast at the beautiful A-frame building. The spread of amazing — fresh fruit, fresh juice, pastries, smoked salmon, quiche… The woman who manages the kitchen there makes all of the brunch food in their big, open kitchen. I loved her quiche so much, I had three servings of it and she even thoughtfully wrote down the recipe for her quiche for me. We thoroughly enjoyed our time living the laid back island life during our time in Langley. It’s peaceful and luxurious, the perfect place to restore yourself over a weekend.

Stayed one night here. Although pricy, it’s for a good reason. The view is downright amazing. The room is as cozy as it gets. It’s peaceful and quiet. The spa tub was soothing and relaxing. Just love this place and will come back in the summer. Great for a stay-cation! Oh… the snacks in the room are included too. Now that’s a bonus! Haha. I do wish they had an elevator or easy way for injured people to get up and down the stairs. That’s the only nock.

First off, I Love this place. There is only one reason it doesn’t get five stars. They don’t indicate which floor the rooms are on when you book online, and there is no elevator. Since I had no indication they were not handicapped friendly, I was surprised to arrive and realized I would have to go down two flights of stairs with a knee injury. This was exceedingly difficult on me and knocks the fifth star off this review. Otherwise, this place is an island heaven. I can’t wait to go back. I love Whidbey all year long and the Langley Inn lets you experience it from a private beautiful deck. It is unreal how peaceful and lovely you feel here.

I’m giving Inn At Langley 5 stars because I’m feeling generous. Don’t get me wrong: it’s a great place. But a few improvements would make it 5 stars WITHOUTQUESTION, but I’ll get to that later. First, don’t even think about going unless you can get reservations for dinner. It’s one-seating only, 3-hours, 12 courses, and it’s the raison d’etre for the Inn. Honestly, the place would not survive if not for Matt Costello’s amazing dinners. The menu changes seasonally, but it almost always includes a soup, a couple breads, seafood and locally sourced meats. What will take your breath away is the sheer creativity with which those ordinary-sounding ingredients come to life. Recently, one amuse bouche was a tiny«old-fashioned»(yes the drink) in a kumquat. And there was a «gin & tonic experiment» that was a tonic gel served in a petri dish with flavor dots(that were supposed to look like germs in the petri dish, ha!) and you squirt gin into it with an eye dropper. Creative! And the dessert that blows everyone away is… no, not the pop rocks, whic h are pretty cool– It’s something called«Grandma’s Handbag.» I will not spoil the surprise for you. Suffice to say, it’s the most imaginative dessert I have ever had the pleasure of seeing, opening, and tasting! Ok, here’s one niggly thing: with only 24 people in the whole restaurant, you should get service that’s above and beyond, right? Except that our table of 2 was consistently the LAST table to be served everything. I mean, everything. Even though every table gets the same course, some tables were always first, and we were always last. Why? We felt like the ugly stepsister. We were last to get water, last to be served every single course, last to get coffee, etc. Really, a little variety would make ALL guests feel special. The other not-so-niggly thing is about the accommodations. Others have mentioned that the rooms need updating and they are right. The bathroom sink looks and feels 1988, which is when the inn was constructed. The pictures on the walls are way old. And the carpet and furniture are looking a little worn. When you’re paying $ 400 a room plus $ 130 pp for dinner, you should not have to look at bare spots on the carpet, right? And while it was great to be in a jetted tub overlooking Puget Sound, the jets are extremely noisy(thus they tell us not to run jets after 10pm), yet they barely have any oomph at all! Consider it more of a soaking tub, not a jetted hot tub. Also, no one told us the snacks and non-alcoholic beverages in the room were gratis. The woman checking us in barely said anything at all, just handed us keys and said, read the binder in the room. Do we really need to ready every page in the binder just to find out important details like what’s included and what’s not? Anyway, we didn’t know so we bought a bunch of snacks at Star grocery, oh well. All in all, I would go back. But I would look for midweek specials which cut the room costs down to about $ 250.

Great spot! The only sad part was the time limitation on when you could use the spa tub. Awesome breakfast and great location.

My boyfriend and i just recently enjoyed a fantastic weekend away at the beautiful Inn at Langley! From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, every aspect of the stay was perfectly complete! Since our flight from San Francisco was coming in later than the Inn’s front office was actually open, we let them know ahead of time. When we arrived, voila, there was a note welcoming us and informing us of the lock box code(and room key). Wonderful! Once we stepped through the room’s door… we fell in love! Even in the pitch darkness, the view from our room, was incredible; stars flickered and were reflected over the waterfront. The room’s interior actually reminded us of a couple of spots in Lake Tahoe — warm and comfortable with rustic sensibility, charm, and luxury! The room was incredibly spacious and had everything that we could want: complimentary snacks and beverages, Duraflame logs for the fireplace(believe me, a necessity even in November), a large jet tub with the exact same views as the main room, and comfortable chairs and mattress! The Inn staff had even left a Happy Anniversary card for us when we arrive, a wonderful and thoughtful attention to detail! Breakfast is also included with your stay at the Inn and you definitely won’t want to miss out! Located in a beautiful section of the property, the breakfast room is one flight up from the lobby/parking lot and has a beautiful garden in front(where it appears you could eat, in the warmer weather or if you had a pooch with you!)! The chef prepares an fantastic array of pastries, hot food(we had quiche and potatoes during our stay), and fresh fruit for the guests. A wonderful start to any day! The city of Langley is quaint but very small. We didn’t spend a lot of time in the actual city, but can attest to the fact that Mo’s Pub is a great local bar, open later than any business that we found, and incredibly friendly. The Pizzaria serves delicious food but was very busy on the Saturday night that we visited… so we just took our box to go! The grocery store also has a plethora of local beers and wines in stock and ready to grab for a wonderful night in at the hotel! Although you are on an island there is certainly a selection of activities to partake in: we enjoyed a visit to Fort Casey(about a 20 – 30 minute drive) where we savored the drift wood beach, a family of deers, and of course, the historical site! We also enjoyed walking of Ebey’s Landing, eating at Front Street Grill in Coupville, and then drove all the way to the North of the island to Deception Pass, which was a fabulous hike with incredible views and gorgeous picture moments! You must visit the Inn at Langley if you want to enjoy the relaxing and beautiful Puget Sound!

A Room With a View All rooms have a jetted tub(with view), fireplace and decks with very nice water views. The feel is very warm, cozy and somewhat masculine in the touches(which is not a bad thing). The snacks and non-alcoholic beverages are gratis. Wine and champagne glasses are in the rooms. We thought the breakfast was great. Quiches, baked goods, fruits, granola, yogurt, boiled eggs, etc. A few areas that could use improvement were: pillows were small and somewhat flat, no extra pillows in the room, the closet had almost no room to hang anything other that shirts, blouses as there is a type of cart in the way. Check in would have been a bit faster if there had been more than one staff person available. Getting cable TV to work can be a bit of a challenge. If you want to spoil yourself in accommodations on Whidbey, this is the place.

It had been over 20 years since my last stay at the Inn. I was blown away on my first trip and blown away again on my most recent stay. One of the most romantic, quite, beautiful places on the planet. Even though the Inn has a few«aged» spots, I think it gives character and charm. The bed… simply put… best ever! My girlfriend and I did a couples massage at The Spa… wonderful! first class all the way!

A seattle bucket list restaurant for us. Finally tried it this past weekend and was not disappointed. Welcome bubbly was a nice touch, refilling my welcome bubbly was an even nicer touch. All 12 courses were amazing and unlike some other higher end restaurants we did not leave hungry. We really enjoyed the the pop rocks-esqe dessert and the terrariums(although I was not surprised because I saw it on Unilocal already…). Service was friendly and they even mentioned the ferry crossing times so we could plan our departure. Look forward to coming back later on in life. And yes, it was very expensive but we felt like it was worth the memories!

Wonderful experience, great selection and ambience. A night to remember. Save for it, as it is pricey but worth it. Ask for multiple glasses of wine if you pair it, as that is the only way the price for the wine pairing is worth it…

We love the Inn at Langley. Right on the water at the edge of a cute town it’s the perfect short break. In room there’s a fireplace and duralogs, a soaking tub, a DVD player and a hot water kettle for your in-room tea or coffee or own cup-o-soup. Theres a mini fridge perfect for stashing a few days nosh from the nearby Star Store which has everything an urbanite might hope for, so you can spend the weekend in-room reading, enjoying the balcony, or surfing off the free wifi. The staff is very friendly, and the morning continental+ breakfast is lovely. Tip: I think one of you can get a tray & airpot if you want to breakfast in-room. They’re thoughtful about gluten/dairy free.

We came here by recommendation from a friend and I have to tell you it was worth the cost! Private room with Jacuzzi and fireplace with a private balcony that faced the water. We ordered the picnic basket also and took it one day to Possession Point Park and had a great healthy lunch. Quiet, relaxing atmosphere. Staff was friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for a close getaway that offers the feeling of beach or resort without the beach or resort cost.
