Just spend a weekend at Eagle Cliff Campground. I must say, this is one of the nicest campgrounds I have been to in the last 12 years. The campground is almost park like. Sites are all grass. For RV’s there is a small gravel pad. Rates are very reasonable. Over 250 sites, with 100 seasonal. Located on the Root River, they offer canoe and kayak trips as well as tubing. They take you 3 miles upriver to Lanesboro and you exit right in the campground. No getting into a bus while wet to go back to camp.
While across the river from the Root river state trail, you can get on 1⁄3 of a mile away.
Scenery is spectacular in the Root river valley. I highly recommend the campground.
