Did a chimney inspection and cleaning for me, Hewitt NJ area.. Gave solid advice about possible repair options, without hard sell. Very pleasant and professional. I will likely hire them to install a stainless steel chimney for me in the future. Would recommend them.

I had an excellent experience with Ryan & Son Chimney. I needed a level 2 chimney inspection. The office staff got back to me within a day to schedule my appointment and sent me a written estimate for the work that was going to be performed, along with a full explanation of that work.
Bill arrived at my house exactly on time. It was obvious that he has been in the industry a long time and is incredibly knowledgeable. He explained everything very well to me. He even wore boot covering the entire time so that he wouldn’t dirty my floor.
It couldn’t have been a better experience. I’ve already recommended this company to a friend.

I contacted this local company for a routine chimney cleaning. Their responses and communication were always timely and professional. We were able to book a service appointment within a short window of time. The day of the scheduled date of service, I was dismayed to find my fireplace flu rusted shut and my fireplace full of 2 inches of water. I assume this flooding had occurred during a recent heavy rainstorm. My fault for not checking the fireplace sooner … Anyway the gentleman who came had a look at the chimney and diagnosed the problem as an old fashioned style cap that was not keeping the water out. He ordered the inexpensive replacement part (~$ 50) and returned on another agreed upon day for the repair and cleaning. He very kindly did not charge me any fees at all for the half hour he spent on this initial visit.
Unfortunately during the subsequent cleaning we discovered the damage to the fireplace was more extensive than expected. He still managed to do as decent a cleaning as possible and we discussed several options for future chimeny repair and replacement of the aged fireplace (it is probably close to 30 years old — so old the company that makes it is out of business for 10+ years already). The advice he gave me was logical and reasonable and he did not push any hard sales of products or other services. He also only billed a reduced amount from what I was initially quoted for the full service, in total for the parts, the repair, and the partial cleaning which was very fair compared to the full price that I was expecting to pay. During all of our interactions I had the utmost confidence in his professionalism and knowledge of his field. I will definitely recommend this company to others and use them again in the future.

I have been using Ryan and Sons to both install and service annually our pellet stove for well over 5 years. Not only were they extremely professional, they were very well mannered, laid down plastic to protect my hard wood floors, shoe covers, as well. the work is always done in a timely fashion, and unlike a previous review posted by «Zach A.» I’ve never once had any issue with them customer service wise, nor have I ever had an issue scheduling an appointment.

Just to clarify, the house Ryan and Sons was going to work on is not in Lodi and I’m not going to be posting my address on the internet. Bill is also a liar, his company is the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had aside from Comcast. I contacted them repeatedly to schedule an appointment or confirm the one I had without hearing back from them. I’ve already reported them to the BBB.
