Great food, Great service. Great prices. We ate at Broken Yolk in Carrollwood. Breakfast Nook’s food was way better at close to half the price.

Excellent food, great service, a quaint eclectic local gem! Loved the veggie inlet, it was huge and tasty. This place is small but clean and friendly.

What a treat. I love this place. I can ultimately say, «Now, that’s service!» From beginning to end… the food, the service, the atmosphere… it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. I had a veggie omelette and my guest had French toast stuffed with all kinds of goodness. We sampled the(I think it’s called) orange French toast. I’ll be having that on my next visit. Worth the trip from Tampa. Thank you for a wonderful brunch.

Stopped in for breakfast around 10 am on Memorial Day. The place was very crowded, with a line of people waiting to get in. However, we were told it would be less than a 10-minute wait and were seated pretty quickly outside. My husband ordered the biscuits with sausage gravy with a side of homefries, and I ordered the peach streusel pancakes with a side of sausage patties. We waited a very long time for our food to arrive, probably about 45 minutes. Our server was very sweet and stopped by a couple of times to apologize for the long wait. We were surprised by the huge size of the portions — especially my husband’s biscuits and gravy. He had a ordered the«full» instead of the«half», thinking that the full order would be 2 biscuits. It turned out to be 4. The biscuits themselves were very fluffy and delicious, but the gravy had a little too much black pepper. Similarly, my husband said that his homefries were very heavily salted and he ended up not eating them. My dish consisted of two very large, thick pancakes topped with yellow crumbs and a few slices of canned peaches. The pancakes were very good by themselves; they kind of melted in your mouth once syrup was added. The crumb topping however, was pretty flavorless. The server had told me at one point that she knew our food would be coming out shortly because she saw the chef was grilling the peaches, so I was disappointed to see that the peaches were canned. My sausage patties were small but tasty. Even though there were some negatives, I would give this place another chance if i were in town.

This place is average at best. I’ve actually had it a few times because I wanted to try different meals in hopes to find something great. The food is very greasy, which isn’t always a problem… but if it’s greasy it should also be flavorful. This place is always packed and I’m not sure why. However, after surveying the crowd it’s usually packed with older people.

PAINFULLYAVERAGE. Really nothing to write home about as I probably could have made the same omelette and home fries in my own kitchen. I also wouldn’t have to contend with lackluster service and several large insects flying around. I really can’t understand why people line up to get into this place. I know I won’t be back.

Food options are great, wait staff is very nice. But I got half of the items on my plate served cold. My potatoes and sausage links were cold and my egg was warm. It was very unfortunate. It is very busy on a weekend. Prices are very affordable. I will give them another chance in the future.

5 stars for friendly service, generous helpings, reasonable prices, smooth coffee and delicious food! Try the breakfast flat bread, creamy spinach on top of pita, top with eggs your way, fresh spinach & feta, tomatoes and mozzarella. My husband loved the French toast breakfast!

Our waitress was super friendly! Always making sure our cups where full! Also she was very helpful with helping me decide what to order. There is plenty of seating in side and outside. I haven’t had a better chicken fried chicken EVER. It’s so tender and juicy. The sausage gravy is to die for its so savory and delicious on top of a fresh baked biscuit :-) 10⁄10 would recommend!

The breakfast is great here. This is a small place and they are always busy. Brunch is great, too!

I’ve been here both with and without my dog for brunch and both times were great experiences! The food is really great with large servings — honestly it reminds me of a home cooked meal. The outdoor seating is a huge bonus and the tables are very nicely spaced from one another that when bringing my dog I was able to comfortably eat with out worrying about my neighbors wandering hands! The servers seemed very comfortable and courteous around dogs and also didn’t attempt to pet him without asking(go people!). The only downside was that they didn’t offer my dog water but honestly I bring my own for him anyway so this didn’t detract from our experience at all. Will return!

Excellent breakfasts just north of Tampa. Love their grits and crispy bacon. Very friendly staff. Definitely worth the stop.

Very friendly staff and food was great. 4 stars because the home fries were a bit bland and undercooked and the food was kind of cold. The omelette I got was good but it was kind of cold. It was really busy when I came so maybe it was because of that.

This place very popular being its one of the only breakfast spots in the area. I was putting off eating here despite the positive reviews because of the shady health inspection reports. However, I broke down and finally decided to try it out. Due to the weather we chose to sit inside which is a pretty cramped space, but the outside seating did look more appealing. Here’s this gist of our experience: Ambiance — dirty! Pretty much sums it up in once word. From the ceiling to the floor there was a film of yuck on everything. I now understand the health ratings and I am scared to see what the kitchen looks like. Bathrooms — again dirty. Peeling wall paper, sink coming off the wall and dirt and filth everywhere. Food — I ordered eggs with biscuits and gravy with grits and bacon. The biscuits were light a fluffy and grits were pretty good. However, bacon was burnt and the gravy was bland. My husband ordered the eggs Benedict which was a mess… Literally. It was loaded with sauce and that’s all you can see on the plate. Everything was soggy and just tasted like the hollandaise sauce. Home fries were nothing special. Service — our waitress was nice but was very slow despite only having 1 other table. Kudos to a succeeding business, seems like a lot of people do enjoy the food — I just hope they clean up the restaurant and their act.

Love this place. I don’t even live near this restaurant but I don’t mind driving out of the way even if it’s just for breakfast. It’s so hard to find a decent breakfast joint around here but the Breakfast Nook has always stood out. The staff and everyone there are always friendly and laid back making for the perfect waking up atmosphere. Their food is delicious from the French toast to the omelets to the country fried steak. I have liked everything I’ve ordered here before.

We were visiting some friends from out of town and we’re looking to find a local spot for breakfast. The Breakfast Nook was perfect! They have a large outdoor seating area which was very nice for a sunny day, it was rather full since it was a Sunday morning. The restaurant provides complimentary coffee while waiting which made the 20 minute wait a little more bearable. The wait staff was very attentive and hospitable, always refilling our water and making sure we were okay with coffee. My only complaint was the wait time on the food was a little longer than usual but, I believe that was because they were short staffed in the kitchen. The food was definitely worth the wait!

Great hometown breakfast spot! While having a vacation up in Tampa we decided to wake up early and find a breakfast spot, we found this great little spot down the street from us and decided to give it a chance. There was plenty of people outside waiting for a table so we knew this place had to be good, we only waited about 25 minutes and they had delicious complimentary coffee outside. Our server was great and got our order in right away, food came out within 10 minutes and was delicious, if you are thinking about giving this place a chance, then definitely go for it! You will not be disappointed!

Best breakfast spot ever! Don’t judge the nook on the way it looks. I’ve had many different things here and it is all the bomb! If you don’t like this place you’ve got to be nuts. Lol. Biscuits and Gravy are excellent, sausage egg and cheese biscuit is teally good. The omlettes are good. If you come for breakfast feel free to invite me!

Boy does this place suck. Prices are low and it’s the highlight of the place. Service in the south I know is bad, but this was really bad. Waited 10 minutes to get sat as empty tables beckoned us to eat. Had the oatmeal which was a 2 out of 10. Three poached eggs which came out first two and then another one 10 minutes after the English muffin I had the two sitting on was eaten. Wife had veggie omelette which she liked, however potatoes were bland AND flavorless. Tough to find a great meal in these parts, and breakfast is the easiest meal to not screw up!

I used to absolutely love this place, but the last few times I’ve visited, the food and the service have been average. The place is small, so sometimes wait times are extreme. They’ve seemed to have scaled back on as lot of things, and it just kind of reminds me of a typical diner now. Prices are decent, and so is the food. I will be back, but it won’t be my first choice.
