One might see the menu and think it’s pricey, but minds change quickly when the sandwiches are unwrapped. Always a great experience, always delicious, always giant portions, and naturally always busy. If you’re not a local, stop in and try the Cuban, just do it, you won’t be sorry. Steak sandwich and peanuts are also very good. As much as I love this place, don’t get the devil crab, it’s pathetic, just an insult to Cubans everywhere.

My advice… Go to Jersey Mike’s by Publix on Collier or get a sub from Publix! Larry’s Deli is a classic example of a local Mom & Pop shop that’s going to lose business to the new and big franchise(Jersey Mike’s)…and for good reason. Haven’t been to Larry’s Deli in months because the last time I was there, they messed up my order. Got got home with my sub and not only was it cold(with unmelted cheese) but two ingredients were missing. I called the manager who offered many excuses but no offer to make it right. At least at Jersey Mikes I get a drink and a bag of chips for the same price… And I’m sure if I call them after they made a mistake they would send me a coupon to come back and have my sandwich made correctly. I just love the mentality of a restaurant manager who thinks I’m actually going to run back and have them redo the sandwich… As a busy mom with 2 jobs… I was lucky enough to sit down and eat lunch the first time.

Simply the best kept secret is all of Land O Lakes. I strongly recommend their Cuban sandwich with the garlic press. Pro-tip: call your order in advance to minimize your wait.

Great little deli, amazing sandwiches! The Cuban is a must try! No seating, but ordering to-go is your best bet since it’s always hoppin!

Larry’s is what I would consider an old-style Deli. There is a counter where your order is taken, and the people behind the counter are slicing meat pressing sandwiches and generally busy filling various orders. The options are many, and I landed on the Ruben Cuban. Although this was a very big deviation from my eating plan, it was well worth doing. The sandwich was packed with meat, very flavorful, and I enjoyed every last bite. The prices here are not cheap, but they are not super expensive either. The deli serves Boar’s Head brand, and they are not skimpy with the amount of stuff they put Between the Bread, so you get what you pay for. The staff was friendly enough. The place itself does not have anywhere to sit and eat inside. If it is a nice day out you can go out back and there are several picnic benches overlooking a lake, and the picnic benches are well stated. I decided to eat out there because I had some time to kill and I really enjoyed my lunch. When I ordered I had to wait a little while for my sandwich to be prepared, and I noticed many people were smart enough to call ahead and pick up their water. If and when I go back here again, I will call ahead and order to reduce my wait. I recommend giving this place a try, don’t be fooled by the way things look on the outside, or the area it is in. This is a top-notch deli where you can get a damn good sandwich!

Wow! 5 stars for a few reasons: The deli items: spices, fresh bread, slaws, various potato salads, and homemade desserts. They also had a small selection of seafood such as frozen(vacuum sealed) mutton snapper, red grouper fillets on ice and colossal shrimp. The food — I had the ’ Big Roast’ with dry pressed Cuban bread and it was delicious. Their Cuban bread is very tasty and right up there with Brocato’s, D & D Delights, and Bodega. If your in the area and hungry I’d recommend stopping in for a Cuban or the BIGROAST.

Went looking for a deli than wasn’t the typical overpriced chain and found Larry’s. On first site, it looked like a dive but, I decided to give it a try after reading all the great reviews. I got the 6″ Cuban Ruben, swiss cheese, sauerkraut, thousand island and pressed with butter. It was way more than enough and delish! I got a bag of chips and a soda, spent about $ 12. It was a little more than I expected to pay for lunch but, I’d return. Good lunch spot to support local business.

Larrys is basically a store/sandwich spot. I stopped in they’re with my kids after passing by it almost daily. Ordered 4 sandwiches and specifically told them that we do not eat pork. After a descent wait, we got the sandwiches and drove home, only to find out that every sandwich had ham on them. I was very disappointed and not returned.

TLDR: Tasteless crappy sandwich, screws up easy orders and WAYOVERPRICED. Do yourself a favor and go to a boring chain like Jersey Mikes where you can at least get a mediocre sub at a reasonable price. I’ve been wanting to try this place out for a while seeing all the good reviews and finally had a chance to one Sunday. I went inside and wasn’t too surprised that the state of the building outside reflected what was inside but that shouldn’t matter. I grew up in the northeast around dives and they were usually the best places to get food. I can’t say the same about this place. I ordered a turkey sub. It was a small sub but it was super expensive. You can get a good sub from places like Subs ‘n” Such for half the price but I thought«this should be worth it right?». When I ordered the girl behind the counter making the food wrote down the toppings I wanted and then went to work making my sandwich. I waited a few minutes, got the sandwich and drove home to eat it. I got back and couldn’t wait to try it. No onions. Explicitly asked for onions as one of the 3 toppings I wanted on the sandwich besides the meat and cheese. They even wrote it down(maybe they just pretended to). Ok… I had some onions in the fridge so I cut some up and put it on. A little frustrating but whatever… The bread sucks. Closer in texture to a cheap hot dog bun than a sub roll. Tasteless. I guess they just slap the bare ingredients into sandwiches and expect that to be good enough. No seasonings whatsoever. I threw it out after a few bites and felt upset and ripped off. Never again. The only reason that this place has ANY good reviews is because THEREISNOTHINGELSEAROUND!!!

Why this place doesn’t have 5 stars is beyond me! There’s nothing to eat on that side of land o lakes for lunch, so it’s a no brainer when in the area, this is the place to go. I’ve been going here for over 10 years and it’s not just the Cubans that are out of this world, but the chicken salad on toasted wheat bread is like crack cocaine! The philly cheese steak, with pepper jack on Cuban bread is absolutely second to none. If your feeling like a real pig, get a potato ball to go with your sandwich of choice. I use ketchup instead of hot sauce. Make sure you call ahead cause they get pretty slammed around lunch time and it wouldn’t be uncommon to wait 20+ minutes for your order. Oh BTW, any thing you order must be washed down with their sweet tea with just a splash of lemonade. Delicious!

Ok so we went here after reading all the positive reviews. The majority of the 5 star reviewers said to get the Cuban sandwich pressed with garlic butter, so that’s what we ordered. I was expecting it to be love at first bite but sadly It was not :( The sandwich tasted overwhelmingly of cold ham(they put waaaay to much in) the bread was also too crispy and dry. I could not taste the garlic butter or any other favors, just ham and crunchy bread. It was not a good Cuban and I am baffled on why there is such positive reviews. On a plus side the employees were super nice.

Awesome little gem in Land O Lakes! I had the turkey club and it was absolutely stuffed with meat! Make sure to get yours pressed with garlic. Cool lake right behind the store to enjoy a nice view with a great sandwich!

Best sandwiches is Land O Lakes, hands down. It’s always a toss up when we are in the area whether we go to Larry’s Deli or Capital Tacos, depending on the vein of our taste buds. On top of rediculously large sandwiches, the size is matched by the flavor. Get it pressed with the garlic butter. It’ll make your lips smack. As an added bonus, the service staff are all EXCEPTIONALLY friendly. The prices are very reasonable.

Cuban sub all the way with the garlic butter press! Can’t loose! I like to call in my order ahead because they can get busy. Only reason they aren’t 5 stars — sometimes they are really busy and my sandwich is still cold in the middle. Since its deli meat, it still tastes ok — but would prefer the sandwich hot all the way through.

I’ve been eating here since 1996 and although the staff has become a little less friendly over the years, they can’t stop me from my comfort sub. I don’t necessarily live close, but I’ll happily drive out of the way to get my sandwich here. Spiced pork on Cuban, provolone, tomato, pickle, onion, mayo, garlic pressed. I can’t seem to find anywhere else that comes close to this consistently awesome sub.

We went to Larry’s a few weeks ago and picked up lunch for the family. Larry’s is basically a convenience store/sandwich shop. We got the Cuban sandwich and the philly cheese steak. They recommended pressed with garlic butter and we went with that on the cheese steak, but plain on the cuban. Both sandwiches were large and very good. We went up to the counter and ordered, then waited for our sandwiches while looking around the store. Sandwiches took about 20 minutes, but it was the weekend and they were busy.

The best place ever! Every sandwich is made from scratch! Super busy on the weekends so make sure you call in! But its definitely worth the wait! 30+ years this place as been in business and is still going strong! Awesome desserts too! There’s picnic tables in the back next to the lake as well:)

The place is a awesome little hole in the wall. You must stop if in the area. Very quaint. If you are a regular i can see they make you feel as if you are family. The place is a little high on price but it is a very good value. I picked up a Cuban, which they did it the way i like and it was awesome. Very full of meat. I will definitely stop again. Everyone was very pleasant from the order taker to the money taker.

WOW! I have been out of FL for some time, but this is the best Cuban sandwich I can recall. Larry’s Cuban is loaded with meat, cheese, pickles and you can add on other veggies if you like. Then they give you pressing options. I chose to have mine pressed with garlic butter and I’m glad I did. It was like having the sandwich on garlic toast. There are no seating options inside, but they do have some picnic tables outside next to Bell Lake. Just be prepared to fend off bugs and the nearby birds eagerly waiting for someone to drop something. They should consider converting the old dilapidated motel in front into indoor seating, I mean this is FL. Outside of the deli sandwiches, which are superb, they also have some specialty grocery items, frozen fish, and desserts. Definitely a must try if you are in the North Tampa Area!
