Last evening I bought a pipe and several accessories including tobacco. I was pleasantly surprised to be waited on by a knowledgeable staff person who gave me plenty of time to make up my mind. The prices were very competitive considering the overhead of a mall store. Great experience — I’ll be back!

I go there all the time because it’s one of three places where I can buy the cigarettes I smoke. The owner is the classic, bad attitude grump. I regularly cite him to other business owners I speak with as why sometimes the best thing you can do as a small business owner is get out of your own way. Thankfully, he has one male clerk that has been there for years and who is fantastic. And for the most part, the other people who work there are pretty nice as well. Here’s the thing, this is one of those places that isn’t really a choice destination. If you’re there, you’re there because they’re the only place that has what you need. So, in this case, the owner’s constantly frowning countenance and mumbling grumbles are not really critical to the failure or success of this business. They have a good selection with prices that are, somewhat surprisingly for a mall store, not horribly out of line with what you would pay elsewhere.
