Stayed at the Secret Garden last weekend and couldn’t recommend it more. Maryann and Amos, the proprietors, couldn’t be more welcoming. Rooms and grounds were picture perfect– and impeccably clean. My favorite part was the breakfast– Maryann was an exceptional cook– each day she had a 3 course breakfast prepared, along with fresh strong coffee and home made tomato juice. The location is on a charming street not far from downtown and convenient to a coffee shop, art gallery, and the hospital. Would stay there again in a heartbeat!

The Secret Garden bed and breakfast is a great place to spend a relaxing weekend in Lancaster Pennsylvania’s Amish country. The inn keepers themselves have local Amish roots and are an excellent adjunct for any curious visitor hoping to learn more about Amish culture. In addition, they are generous with insider tips on where to get the best meals, excellent shopping and tours, and lesser know treats like homemade local root beer. Perfectly located in a gorgeous old Victorian within walking distance of downtown Lancaster, The Secret Garden has everything a guest could want in a bed and breakfast. The Secret Garden’s rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable. The inn is quiet and peaceful with several nice indoor and outdoor spots for relaxation. The breakfasts are hardy and perfectly prepared… you will not have room for lunch! We would certainly recommend The Secret Garden B&B to other Lancaster visitors!

Such a wonderful place! I stayed in the Jungle room for an evening and was greeted with such love and kindness. Though I was exhausted and didn’t really go out that evening I was able to relax in a luxurious Jacuzzi tub in my room. There is a mini fridge in the main hallway filled with waters and sodas for the taking and a basket full of snacks so I was set for the night! The next morning I had breakfast with a lovely couple. I was served a beautiful breakfast consisting of a berry muffin, followed by a potato omelette(that was divine!) and last came fruit with yogurt. I was ready to burst at the end but couldn’t not resist the hospitably. This is very special and inviting place to stay. I highly recommend!

Like staying with a close friend or family member, only beautiful and luxurious. I recently stayed at the Secret Garden with a group of friends, we rented out most of their rooms. It is small, well kept, and beautiful. The rooms are beautifully decorated, and ours had a gigantic bathtub in the bathroom, and access to an outside veranda that was just beautiful. As stately as the rooms are, the garden out back is just as beautiful. The grounds are lovingly cared for and full of flowers and greenery. There’s a spacious common room and large front porch to sit on and enjoy the weather; the whole inn has an old-world charm, which makes it cozier and helps me forget the fact I live in NY and only experience this kind of respite once a year… The owners are nice as can be and really took care of us. It was a perfect vacation from the chaos of the city, and there’s no better place than the Secret Garden to sit back and relax. I know I had a more enjoyable time here than I would have at the big convention center in the heart of Lancaster. It’s just a short drive from downtown, but on a lovely tree-lined street; more inviting than the Marriott which we were also looking at. I’m not in Lancaster often, but the Secret Garden will definitely be my first choice for lodging next time I am!
