Subway has stepped up their game. Gone are the days of wimpy bread and rubbery meat. Solid middle of the road choice. Today I enjoyed a footlong Subway Club on Italian Herb and Cheese. That’s roast beef, turkey, and black forest ham nestled in a hearty foot long roll. Piled high with meat? Nah, not one of «those» places, but a good balance of meat, cheese, veggies, and ranch dressing. Toasted? Sure, why not. Ordering is the same as always, everything is right in front of you to see. Like most, I start my meal with my eyes and nose. I enjoy the fresh baked bread smell from the moment I enter. The sight of the fresh veggies reminds me to partake, even if I don’t always remember to eat quite enough(sorry Mom!). Sandwich artists? were friendly and knowledgeable. Service is no frills — hoagie is wrapped in paper, put in a plastic bag, and plopped on a plastic tray. You get your own drink and chips. Establishment was clean and in decent shape. Prices are reasonable for what you get — good food, ok service, clean place to rest your feet and eat. Do I come here often? When I’m in the mood for a consistently good hoagie, yes.

I hate subway sandwiches… a lot. — — — - FOOD: I got a veggie sub, and like every subway sub ive ever gotten the bread was rubbery. They can give it all the pretty names they want, its still not good bread. Bread is the key to a good sandwich. Period. As if they didnt slap the sandwich gods in the face with the bad bread, the worst sandwich blasphemy of all is they heat up the meats in a microwave! eww! That aint right! SERVICE: Theres always a long line for these awful sandwiches and not enough employees to handle them. Ive never been impressed with subways efficiency, but the employees at this location were pretty fast when you actually got to the counter. DECOR: Its cafeteria style. Like it or not, thats what it is. «Ill take one of those, and one of those» then shuffle sideways to the next stop. Its pretty clean and has a number of tables inside. — — — - FINALTHOUGHTS: If you want good sandwiches, skip subway(any of them) and go across the street to Rosa Rosa. Or better yet, go to the sandwich factory. Both of which use good bread and good guts. So why did I go if I hate it so much? Its one of the few places near my house I havent reviewed. Thats it, solely for the Unilocal!:-D
