They had lots of tasty options, but I was really just looking for a snack. The vegetable roll was delicious. It had great textures from the layers of grape leaves and was stuffed with a tasty, sweet and spicy chickpea filling. It ended up being a lot denser than I had thought but was well worth it. I definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a vegetable-based street snack!

Everything we have tasted is delicious!!! We love the Samosas. Very different from the Indian samosas we had eaten before. They are super nice and friendly. Rafiki’s is one of our usual stops every time we go to Central Market.

Rafiki Deli is the best place in the county to buy authentic foods from all parts of Africa. I’ve had Kenyan, Ugandan, Moroccan, Egyptian, Congolese, Ethiopian, and many other foods for the healthy eater. It’s all fresh, all good for you, and exotically delicious. It might make you want to pass up on some cream filled donuts for a change. Personally, I love the Kenyan chapatti bread with anything Roger and Dorothy put on top. As a bonus reason to go, these guys reinvest their earnings into the construction of a school they operate in Kenya.

Rafiki’s is kind of new to me, here at central market. But from what I have tried so far. I like it ;) It is all African food, the two owners are from Uganda and Kenya I really love their tabouli salad and they have a cole slaw type of salad. but I forget the name, again very delicious. When I go back I want to try their falafel and some of their other veggie dishes. I am not an expert of African food. .. but it seems pretty authentic and more importantly it tastes fresh! I read on their website that the proceeds from the food they sell, all goes to support a school for Orphans in Kenya. Not like you need a ton of reasons to go out and buy tasty freshly made food, but I thought this was pretty cool ;) a stand very original for Lancaster(not to many african restaurants around that I know of) . .
