A neighbor referred me to this company telling me they contract through Southern California Gas. I was informed they come out, free of charge if you have an account with either SoCal Gas OR Southern California Edison and weather strip doors and check over appliances to see whether they can make them more energy efficient. As I am a senior, living on a fixed income, I thought this was a good idea and I contacted them and made an arrangement. Since they were booked up, we made an arrangement a month ahead of time. About a week before my scheduled appt., the liaison called me to apologize, saying she was out of town and asking whether I wanted to set up an appointment. I was not home at the time but I returned her call telling her we had already set one up. She then said she had realized that after she called. Okay so THAT in itself put the red flag up for me but I let it go. On the day of my appointment… which was between 10AM and 11AM(there was no exact time) she never showed up. I waited til 11:20 and decided to contact her. Her excuse was that she was half way to my house when she realized she had my address but not my phone number. She then contacted her office and they told her I had already had the Gas Company out. So at that point she decided to turn around and look for my phone number. Why didn’t she have my phone number IF her home office told her I had already had the Gas Company out? Why did she wait til she got back to her office and THEN say she needed to find my number? I am sure that when we first had the discussion, and she told me what her company does, I informed her that the Gas Co, had been out to weather strip my doors but that was about 3 years ago. She informed me they only do it every 10 years. I have never heard of weather stripping lasting that long but nevertheless a phone call from someone would have been nice. However according to their website, they offer other services more than just weather stripping doors, and I would have liked to see if I qualified for any of them. So I wasted over an hour on them without having the courtesy of a simple phone call and an unprofessional excuse that she didn’t have my phone number with her. HOWUNPROFESSIONALISTHAT??? So bottom line: Unprofessional. Irresponsible. Unprepared.
