Do not rent at a Murry Community — they have very nice apartments, but that is all you can say — once you are in the apartment they are so rude and so greedy. .. you will always come out the loser — — - these folks are the worst. . Examples: 1. Moving from NC and needed in on 9⁄13 — Murry said I would need to pay the full months rent — no pro-rated amount based on my move in date. If you move in between the 1st and the 15th, you have to pay the whole month. After the 15th, they will pro-rate. 2. Garage door wouldn’t open after a storm — I called and they told me they would invoice me for the call, when I protested they said it was probably my batteries. I said I don’t believe that to be the case, they assured me it most likely was.(the could have just as easily started out by saying ’ Have you checked your batteries? We don’t want to charge you for something as simple as needing new batteries.‘ 3. Gave a 90 day notice(as required) explaining that I may(or may not) be moving, but there was a chance I wpuld be transferred and I would let them know — I asked if they could call me if they have interest, just in case I do not get the transfer. Of course, when I advised I would not be leaving, they advised they had rented it. 4. Moved from a Murry community to another Murry community —(only because I could not find an apartment with a garage that was large enough) and received my deposit — less 226.00 — $ 106. was OK, as they require in the lease that you have the carpet professionally cleaned — which I did not do — however, the apartment was otherwise ready for move in. Stove cleaned, Fridge cleaned, Patio and porch swept, Garage swept, Mopped floors, wiped out window sills, wiped out each kitchen and bathroom cabinet. .. . and they still charged me $ 120.00 for cleaning. Ridiculous — when I complained they told me that I would need to take it to the magistrate. 5. When moving to the new community they charged me a credit check fee, even though I had lived in their community for 2 years and had never been late. 6. Murry charged my 80 year old neighbors a credit check fee — even though they were had lived in a commnity for 3 years and were only moving because their apartment with Murry had«Mold». They were considering another Murry community only because their daughter lived nearby and they wanted to remain close to her. Even with the mold they insisted this couple remain in the house until their lease expired in 6 months and THEN were going to charge them an additional months rent for transferring to another community! . If you consider moving into one of their communities — do not take my word for it — walk around the community and ask people how they like the management — you will find the majority hate them. They are a big, arrogant company who do not understand about customer service or being nice to other human beings — their attitude is, the customer is always an idiot.
