Manorcare Health Services – Lancaster

My mother was housed at ManorCare for a month while healing from a serious car accident. They did a decent job of caring for her. The aides and nurses work very hard to accommodate all of their patients and the physical therapists are excellent. Due to a lack of staffing, they often fall behind on basic patient needs such as bathing, or bedpan use. They seem to occasionally have a lack of communication between administration and aids – one example: my mother had an orthopedic appointment scheduled 2 weeks after she arrived. She informed the nurses, but every day leading up to the appointment they said there was no appointment. They «could not confirm with the doctor». I made one phone call to the doctor’s office and was able to verify the appointment. My mother did not have transportation provided in time to get her to the appointment because even they day-​of the administration still did not know she had an appointment.
The staff is very friendly, however, and attempt to take care of everyone’s needs.

Arla, who answered the phone, was very nice and spent several minutes with me on the phone. My sister is there and it is so good to know that she is well cared for.

Forget it — the woman who answered the phone was so rude, I would never even THINK about recommending this place to any of my elderly family members. Service starts at the first phone call — what a horrible impression they made.
