This facility is large, well planned, and very attentive to their patient needs. Everyone was very accommodating and helpful. I walked out of there feeling like I truly understood the situation, a practical course of action, and hopeful for a speedy recovery.

Lancaster Orthopedic Group is a team of physicians, each specializing in one area of the skeletal system vs. general practitioners. They have multiple offices which is another sign of their commitment to care. Most people with these types of injuries cannot drive and rely on other means of transportation, or close proximity to Ephrata or Lancaster hospitals. The employees at this office consist of highly competent PA-Cs, PTs, nurses, cast & x-ray technicians and administrative workers at the front desk. They are wicked busy so be prepared to w a i t, but hey — an empty waiting room is not a good sign anywhere. No Wi-Fi and no cell phones allowed(thank you), so bring a book. We often call ahead of appointment time to see if they’re running on schedule. There is a nice café on the first floor of their Ephrata office if you have time to wait. After a span of bad luck with foot injuries and botched surgery(performed by a surgeon elsewhere), I heard about Dr. Tuckman’s impeccable reputation. Patiently, he met with me several times to calm my angst and endless questions while admitting he wasn’t sure of the damage already done, or if repair was possible. I always appreciated his medical advice and good-hearted approach of encouraging me to do what I felt was best instead of the other way around. Following much trepidation, I had surgery again in January; recovery was a breeze, and I’m already back to running again. I’m so glad I met Dr. Tuckman, he is first-class in his profession and an all-around nice guy.
