I’m pretty certain I fell ill after eating here. I thought it was the milk I drank at night but after further investigating I’m sure that their meat was not clean or cooked well cause I had ordered a well done burger.

Best thing here: side of fries. Weird building to enter. Host was oblivious to why we wanted to sit down. Sat at the bar. Bartender was nice and patient. My friend couldn’t decide on a beer so he gave her samples. Apparently they are celebrating their anniversary so they are doing sour beers… Yeah Ordered chicken and waffles and then this corn masa dish. Oh and also a side of rosemary fries. Fries were hot. Crisp. Great flavor! That dipping sauce. Good good good Chicken and waffles– waffles had zero taste… Soft waffles… Thicker batter. Chicken… Not traditional friend chicken. It was like a chicken cake… Similar to crab cake but with minced chicken. Beautiful plate. Looks better than it taste. That other corn masa thing was good! Enjoyed the dish. Looked good. Tasted good. Not sure. I’ve been to a lot of higher end places and this place just missed the spot. Cool spot to hang out to drink beer but the food was just overall a miss for me. Bland flavors.

Holy bottle shop. I have not had the food here yet but damn to they have a fantastic beer selection. And that saying something. Not only do they have a solid beer selection but this is Pennsylvania, where finding a solid beer without having to buy a case is difficult. The beer connoisseur(salesman) was unreal, he was super knowledgable, took time to showcase every saison they had(at my request for a suggestion), and I was thrilled with the suggestions. Generally could see his enthusiasm in selling beer which was nice to see. This ain’t your place to pick up a 30 pack of miller light… But if you want to get a good beer, try them out.

The menu needs an over haul, just not a good, trying to be too fancy and not working with the quality and service. Service at the bar was very slow, very slow! The bartender took 10 minutes to get to us and there was only 4 other people even at the bar. Wish they would allow the bottle they sell in take out to be consumed in the bar, the take out selection is way better than the tap selection. All in all not a fan and will skip and go elsewhere to eat/drink on site but will still hit up take out beer once in a while.

Great service, large beer selection, delicious food. I only wish there were a few more entrees that weren’t fish or meat(the only option is really the rice bowl). I loved the crab and cod fritters! We had the skate fish, rice bowl, and steak and all had really great flavors! I loved the skate! Will definitely be going back.

I was in town for a work function, so some is us went out for dinner. The beer menu had many different options whereas the food menu had limited options. We had Brussels sprouts(a side dish) as an appetizer that came with an aioli sauce, which both were good. I ordered the hamburger with a side salad — the burger was great but the salad was ok and looked like grass(not the typical leafy greens).

Very interesting cocktails. A must try. Even their food menu is good. We had chicken N waffles which had tandoori chicken. Chicken was soft, fresh and well marinated. Wait times for food are long though. Be prepared. That’s why a star less.

2nd visit… same overpriced beers and drinks, overpriced small servings of food, pretentious staff. If you want to spend twice what you should, if you’re 29 and«cool» and you want to let the food industry continue to overcharge you for mediocrity, then this is the place for you. I’ve seen far too many dishes returned to the kitchen in this place for a restaurant that is trying to be something it’s not. If you’ve never been out of Lancaster, you may think this is fine dining, but basically, it’s not !

I’ve been here a few times now and I have to say, every time has been fantastic. Last night was no exception. We went for the Almanac Brewery takeover. In addition to the Almanac taps, the draft list was exceptional. We started the evening with the Chef’s Plate Charcuterie. It had a nice pairing of meats and cheeses, especially the Spicy Sopresseta(sp?). If I had one small critique about this app, it would be the lack of mustard or pickles. However, these are substituted with a delicious fig jam and an assortment of olives. You have the option to create your own plate with meats and cheeses but our lack of knowledge on the choices forced us to be at the mercy of the chef and they did not disappoint. I ordered the Pork Cheek tacos with a side of Chicharones. Wow! Both delicious! **I don’t understand the reviews that criticize the portion sizes. I am a larger guy with a healthy appetite and I was pleased with the portions. My wife ordered the Octopus which is served with jalapeño grit cakes. Delicious! The octopus was perfectly grilled and quite tasty. Afterwards, we ventured to the bottle shop and purchased some rarities. **Again, I don’t understand the criticisms of the bottle shop. Yes, it is small but they strive for quality and not quantity. There are several imports available that you can’t get in the Lancaster area. If you are a fan of sours, that seems to be a specialty of the bottle shop. I am a fan, so it’s perfect. The service was top notch. They were busy for a Thursday because of the tap takeover and they were also offering a raw bar, which seems to be popular. Our server, LeeAndra(name on receipt), handled our experience skillfully. Shout out to everyone at H&T. Well done, keep it up!

I think that this place is interesting, but the last two times I’ve been there I enjoyed my drinks and not the food. Ambiance and service is 4 stars. But the food options are pricey and don’t live up to expectations. It’s sad, the location gives you confidence you’ll be blown away. It’s just average food in a very cool restaurant. Go for drinks or to the cool charcuterie/deli shop that’s adjacent to the restaurant. They have an excellent beer selection, too!

Cool atmosphere, great drinks, tasty food, terrible portions. On the menu, they have food options categorized under small platter and large platter. I ordered a large platter for $ 20 cuz I’m a growing boy. The waitress comes out with my food which was a duck confit and pasta. I swear the chef gave to me the leftover portion of this meal that someone else previously ordered; it basically consisted of some shredded meat over a cup of cooked pasta. For me, quality only goes so far, I don’t want to have to pay $ 60 so I can leave feeling full.

Only came to the bottle shop because the bar area looked dead when we came. Smaller selection than what I thought I was going to get but all the prices are on the bottles so you know what to expect when you make your own six.

Atmosphere is cool looking, but a little uncomfortable with the seating. Their food is definitely… Creative. If you want to try something new this is definitely the place to go. However some of their food is a serious miss. In addition, it is very expensive for the tiny portions you get. This is a good restaurant to go to if you are a foodie, but definitely make sure you ask the waiter or waitress questions otherwise you could be surprised about what comes out on a plate.

We had such a great time! We sat at the bar and the well trained bartender took very good care of us. After ordering my first drink I was able to describe my preference for a personalized, off-the-menu, cocktail that was great! The menu is seasonal so we caught it just at the end of summer. Smoked Scallops with Grit Cakes– to die for! We also loved the Crispy Pork Belly and the Octopus. The soup of the day was just okay(Roasted Red Pepper) but the rest of the meal made up for it. Also we shared their Rosemary, Parm, Garlic french fries. So good– we had zero left over! Can’t wait to check this place out again in the fall for an updated menu and another personalized cocktail by bartender Steve. Job well done chef– i’m dreaming about those scallops!

I was coming here to check out the incomparable Liz Fulmer(better than Lady Gaga! I’m totally trending that because the Gag complimented her personally.) and so I snuck a peek at the menu before I left. All I saw was overpriced beer and finger food. I figured I shouldn’t arrive hungry, and probably wouldn’t leave a review. The egg on my face came as I walked through the door. They have 24 taps of all craft beers, varying types, lineages, strengths, and sizes. I settled into a smooth, dense coffee-laced milk stout on the nitro tap(24) and checked the food menu. There’s a special Sunday menu, and it’s actually not bad at all. $ 10 for a rustic sandwich with fresh bread and quality products(meat, cheese, veggies, etc.) on top. If it’s a buck or two more than you might pay at another bar, consider that you’re also paying for the refined yet laid-back atmosphere. The interior is a little dark, fairly industrial, but instead of becoming pretentious, the staff here are all down to earth good people.(Liz not only anchors the stage on some Sundays, she’s also among the staff. I highly recommend her!) A pleasant surprise to find a place like this in Lancaster. I would have no qualms returning.
