This location closed this week. I will really miss the chicken fried steak! The one in Duncanville is still open.

My family and I come here pretty regularly. Chubby’s food taste just like the breakfast food you can make at home. There’s nothing really special about the meals or recipes but if you don’t want to cook at home, this is a good alternative. I only come here for breakfast foods and get the pancakes, hash brown, eggs, and bacon. The omelets are pretty decent as well. I usually come on a Saturday or Sunday and there’s never much of a wait. Also the customer service is good at chubby’s. I’ve never had a rude waiter and the food always comes out pretty quickly.

Good, solid coffee shop-type food. Hand-breaded chicken fried steak, house-made soups, burgers and fries, and very good breakfast. The blackboard specials are always a good value and tasty. Only real flaw is mostly canned veggies.

Had breakfast. Taste ok but the pancakes had no flavor. Waited forever for waitress to come bring the check, had to flag her down

This place has come a very long way! The pancakes are simply amazing! Haven’t tried lunch, but again you can’t go wrong with a chubby’s favorite!

The classic Greasy-Spooner diver: huge menu breakfast all day(but the Eggs Benedict are only on weekends), dirt cheap prices(this is not fine dining folks, this is a working man’s eatery), super-friendly staff, place is much nicer on the inside, and truly very clean restrooms to boot. And yes, some grease on those grease-attracting menu items you order. The Chubby’s Favorite is the thing to order for breakfast when you are starving: 3-meats, pancakes, 2-eggs and hash browns. Then stretch out in the back seat of your car for a nap(and perhaps some pink Pepto for the grease). Good strong iced tea: free refills of course.

On recommendations and many glorious commendations of fellow coworkers(who shall remain nameless to save their dignity) I went to Chubby’s for lunch. I got the french dip sandwich. Yah, yah, why would you get a french dip sammich at a Denny’s-esque establishment. Well, if it’s on the menu it shouldn’t suck is my answer. It sucked… the jus was watery and lacked seasoning but the worst part was the meat. There was a thick, impenetrable line of gristle all the way down the middle rendering the sandwich largely inedible. The meat was dry, very dry and since the jus was lacking it was better to circle file the whole thing and never return. Grandy’s next door is twice as good, go there instead.

My husband and I were craving Breakfast food and didn’t feel like going to Waffle house or IHOP and it was too late to drive to Dallas for breakfast so we decided to give this place a shot. Restaurant are old but had comfy feelings to it. Staff were friendly and prompt. My husband ordered Chubby’s special which consist of Eggs, Bacon, Ham, Sausage with Hash brown and your choice of Biscuit or Toast or Pancake. My husband substitute for French Toast. I ordered Western Omelet which came with Hash Brown and Toast or Biscuit or Pancake. Everything was pretty good. No disappointment. Price were really reasonable. I think we’ll go back again.

–UPS– * Friendly service * Flexibility * Inexpensive –DOWNS– * Could be cleaner We saw their billboard on IH-35E southbound and decided to give it a whirl. They offer the typical Denny-esque greasy spoon fare. You can have breakfast all day, so that’s what I had: Chubby’s Favorite. It comes with two eggs, hash browns, two strips of bacon, a sausage patty, two ham slices and two pancakes — a meat lover’s delight. It was too much meat for me, so I asked our waitress(Pam) if I could substitute tomato and avocado for the ham and sausage. She was happy to oblige — at no charge. My girlfriend had the gyro dinner, which came with gyro(beef & lamb) meat, pita bread, ziziki sauce, Greek salad and French fries. The pita bread wasn’t typical — more like naan bread with butter. The food was average, but well worth the $ 15.53 for two diners. No surprises — just decent, solid diner food. Large portions. I would visit them again.
