I have tried all of the desserts in their display glass. My top favorites are Napoleon, Costa Rica, 7 Layered Chocolate(I also ordered the large 8″ version of this one for an office party), Carrot Cake, Coco Bomb, and Citron. I think I listed most of them. All of their desserts are delectable! The prices here are a bit higher than other bakeries in the area, but they really are amazing.

First timer and very pleased. Little neck clams with sausage and the Fluke fish entrée were excellent. Steak Frites was flavorful but a little tough. Some interesting menu and wine choices. Donut dessert was outstanding. Nice job with the décor making you feel you aren’t in Lancaster. Be sure to ask for Christopher as your waiter! Will return! Now it is our third time back and once again a winner! Prix-Fixe this time and choices were excellent. Happy hour with comp French fries started things out on the right foot. Moving towards best spot in Lancaster.

Delicious Pastries(the freshest croissant west of Paris) and the coffee is superb. Real French macaroons. A true French breakfast in such a nice setting. Can’t wait to try this for their bistro food. Tres Tres Bien!

We shared an octopus appetizer that was generous and very tasty. Octopus was cooked just right, accompanied by a creative mix of capers, olives and peppers. My bouillabaisse was the best I’ve ever had, with each different seafood item done perfectly. Nice wine list priced fairly.

Okay, I’ve only had two desserts(so-so), a few glasses of wine and a few macaroons here. There’s so many things for your eyes to feast on here. It’s gorgeous to look at the colorful macaroons and the window displays that will bring you back to the whimsical feelings of Charlie and the chocolate factory. I would think the desserts would be out of this world by their appearance, which is 5s for sure. But they are just good. Their beauty outweighs the flavor. The wine I had at the bar was average. My husband took a cookie to go; it was great. I loved the coffee macaroon the best. Do not miss the opportunity to stop by for a quick snack. I’d love to try their sandwiches to go. They look so good in their displays. I’ve heard mixed reviews of their dinner menus and the connected rooftop lounge.

This place is amazing. The owners are always here every time I come in and they are so kind and friendly. The servers are so knowledgable of the menu and so friendly and eager to ask questions. The food is so tasteful and fresh. The macaroons are chewy, sweet and crunchy on the outside. The cakes are beyond beautiful. The pastries are so delicate I feel guilty for biting into them and eating them so quickly! This is my moms favorite spot to catch up whenever I’m in the area. I truly enjoy everything I’ve ever had from here. A real gem in the heart of Lancaster city :)

I have only experienced the bakery, and what an experience. The selection of French pastries, macaroons and croissants are visually stunning, and equally delicious. The bakery opens at 7 am and stays open until 10. If you walk through the bakery you enter a beautiful bistro with top notch décor and a full bar. I have yet to experience the menu(currently only serves lunch and dinner), but it looks gorgeous. This is a true French Patisserie. The owner, Cedric Barberet has been named one of the top ten French pastry chefs in the United States! When you come here you will know why. Within easy walk to the downtown Marriott. Even if your diet won’t allow you to eat pastries, you must stop in to look at these amazing artistic creations. Stunning, absolutely stunning. Lancaster is truly fortunate to have this treasure.

This enchanting pastry case caught my eye while wandering out of Annie baileys not too long ago… Finally had the chance to stop in one morning this week and couldn’t be more impressed. Lovely greeting when I walked in from the woman I assume to be the owner, who was absolutely charming. She was patient in describing everything I asked about, questioning ingredients as I just couldn’t believe the descriptions of these flawless entremets to be true. They were almost all gluten free, unfortunately however nothing without dairy. The one I chose was a triple chocolate tart. Nothing short of amazing. A crumbly chocolate shell filled with two types of ganache, topped with three miniature chocolate crème puffs, drizzled with a third chocolate syrup type ganache. Every bite was simply fantastic and awe inspiring. Not to mention the perfectly matching box/bag tied with a pink ribbon that she even took the extra moment to curl. Adorable. I also brought home a chocolate croissant which was made from the best most delicate pastry, though lacking in the rich chocolate I’d hoped for after the tart. Overall, every bit of the experience here was positive. I truly appreciate the intricacy and attention to detail that the owners of this place clearly prioritize, as it is definitely hard to come by now a days. I would recommend stopping in here, even if the occasion is just a chocolate craving :) Looking forward to trying the bistro for dinner sometime soon, and I will surely be back asap for dessert!

Two of my girlfriends and I ventured to Barbaret for the first time for an early Fri night meal and drinks on First Friday, which also happened to be the first night of Zenkaikon. Needless to say, there wasn’t a shortage of characters out and about. But, I digress. Our party of three was greeted by a woman with a thick French accent in the bakery area and she escorted us to the bistro. It was early, and we were the first people at the bar. We were enticed to sit at the bar for half-priced drinks and inexpensive appetizers, AKA«bar bites.» We were greeted enthusiastically by our female bartender, who made food recommendations and was polite and attentive. Unfortunately, as the night continued, her and her male counterpart were less and less attentive. It was necessary to ask for water refills, empty plates sat before us without being removed, and when we asked for the bill, it took a considerable amount of time before it was noticed that we were all ready to pay. Upon receiving the bill, we had to point out that our half price appetizers and drinks were listed at full price. Potentially an honest mistake, but considering we were only there for the duration of happy hour, it seemed suspicious. This was all very disappointing considering it was not THAT crowded. I would be willing to give this venue another try considering the fact that it is a new business, and the place is charming. I will, however, be select when going-perhaps a weekday.

I ordered catered food from the Bakery, pick up early in the morning), for a Bday party where I work. Quiche was cold, they didn’t even heat it up. I mean, you are supposed to serve quiche warm. Macaroon were good. Chocolate croissants were just ok. I was planning to order some stuff every month from this place, but I think I will pick something different:-(

I’ve been here twice, both times for things from the bakery. On the first visit I got two little carrot cakes. They looked fantastic just really simple, clean and pretty. The flavor, texture and moistness was perfect. The perfect balance. On my second stop I picked up a fresh baguette of French bread. Again it was perfect.

The perfect and artful designs of the treats reminded me of Jinhua, China’s cafes and the flavors made up for the uneventful/quiet streets of Lancaster for a Friday.

Let’s start with the deserts in the bakery. Simply amazing. Some of the best I’ve ever had, anywhere. I went for lunch and had french onion soup(outstanding) and a piece of quiche. What a delight! While not inexpensive, it’s worth the time and investment.

«If your baby is disturbing someone, they(the other customers) can leave.» As new parents, it’s a rare occasion that you will go out on a Friday night, let alone that you would even want to.(I just want to give a passing praise to those parents with multiple kids or special needs children, may you be blessed and continue to persevere) Tonight my wife and 7 month old went out to celebrate my mom’s birthday with my in laws. This restaurant was a little hard to find as it sits behind the bakery frontage, but we figured it out quickly with some help from the staff. Our waitress Churis immediately gushed over our son in his elf outfit, took photos for us, explained everything on the menu, and took exemplary care to get everyone more than taken care of with extra hot water for my Chinese in-laws too(most old Chinese people need hot water at every meal btw, servers take note)! Churis did an amazing job. We felt loved and cared for like family even though this was our first time here. The food was off the charts in preparation and taste. All of our dishes were cooked to perfection and extremely tasty. I have no complaints. The décor is extremely minimalist with elements of grey and black and white photos around the room giving it a contemporary and cool feel. I really enjoyed the décor and taking it all in. But back to the title… As we were finishing up our meal, my 7 month old son started to get a little restless and my wife took him to the hostess and asked if there was any quiet place to take him so that he didn’t disturb anyone. The hostess’s reply happily shocked us both when we saw that a stranger would be such an amazing advocate for our family. Susannah, one of the hostesses, said, «If your baby is disturbing someone, they(the other customers) can leave instead.» My wife still rocked our baby in the entry hall into a state of calm, but she was happy that a stranger would be her advocate tonight. Mad props to Susannah for making our night with one small comment and Our waitress Churis for taking such amazing care of our family. Rock on, guys!

Not sure if rumor is true, but heard the owner cooked for Trump. Would love to know :) I stayed at the Marriott next door and this was a delightful treat before and after my work day! Café Latte = yum Almond croissant = wow, wow! Cupcake = a delightful surprise Cheesecake = okay, not sure I was digging the butter cookie crust or the orange filling Quiche = worth the calories Hold back your thoughts, I was on a 5 day work trip :) Okay, I may have indulged too much. But I wanted my fill before I left.

Thanks to this french couple to have picked up lancaster as their destination! I m definitely a sweet touth and those are the best desserts I ve ever had in the usa. The porch on 422 is probably the next one. Anyway, wonderfull experience for some french expatriate as we are. A bit disappointing with a profiterolles having an «s» when you serve only one… :(still the best chocolate around. The moelleux was terrific too! For the diner part this was also very good but a bit expensive looking at the quantity you get. The pâté and terrine, were probably homemade and very tasty. Duck confit and almond trout are soem french classic, and really very well cooked! For the grand final we bought 4 pains au chocolat and a baguette for tomorrow morning. The kids will be quite happy! They also do a croissant aux amandes… but were out. :( next time!
