Batteries Plus Bulbs

This store is absolutely one of the most customer oriented stores of it’s kind. Nick, Mike, and the crew deliver an excellent customer experience with each visit. I recently had a remote programmed for my auto. Nissan was going to charge $ 200 for a remote that I eventually purchased online for $ 39, then they were going to charge an additional $ 109 to program it. Batteries Plus Bulbs programmed my remote for $ 35. For less than $ 100 I was able to get a job done that the dealer was charging over $ 300 for.

My husband and I have been purchasing our car batteries and other supplies at this store for about 8 years. We have always had a positive experience until yesterday. I took my car up to the store to ask them to check to see if I needed a new battery. I was approached outside the store by two employees, one of them being Chris, a manager. They diagnosed my car as needing a new battery.
I was then asked a series of questions by Chris regarding the usage of my car. I explained that this is a second car that is primarily garaged and driven occasionally as it is a luxury car. Due to my honesty, Chris informed me that they would not pro-​rate the cost of a new battery (this one was still under warranty) because I don’t drive it consistently. I was then told that I was guilty of «neglect» and «neglecting» my car and told that «most drivers drive their cars consistently.» The tone made me feel as though I was being talked down to in a condescending manner. I got the impression he thought I was a stupid woman. I guess had I lied and said I drive the car everyday, I would have been given the pro-​rated price for a new battery. I left the store vowing to myself to never do business there again. If this is the tone they deliver to customers, I will take my business elsewhere. I then proceeded down the street to purchase a car battery from a reputable dealer who treated me like a valuable customer.

Good thing, they lots of batteries and other stuff. More stuff than any other place in Lancaster. If you need an OEM replacement cell, they probably have it or can make it. They have a cool selection of LED and other specialty bulbs as well. So it’s a great source for hard to find parts. They’re pricey but, well, they’re here and they have it. Generally speaking they’re helpful. I’ve bought more than a few cell packs here and overall, they’re a good source.

Would not recommend any woman go in by herself. I think they believe women are stupid and would pay anything for a simple little battery.
.. . so I walked into «Batteries Plus Bulbs» on Columbia Avenue Sunday, showed the man the small round battery I wanted, he took it, walked over to the area that had them and asked how many I wanted. I said «Four» and he told me they were $ 5 EACH! I told him no thanks, they were for a cheap magnifying glass that didn’t even cost $ 5 and left. Just found a pack of TEN on Amazon for $ 2.20 and that included shipping!
TEN for $ 2 and they wanted $ 20 for FOUR!
Sad thing is they lost my husband’s business, too. He was sitting in the car and was livid when I came out. He was ready to go back in and do whatever men do. .. I said no, best thing we could do, is take our business elsewhere and let people know how they do business.
