Furnishings and décor were a bit dated but they made up for it with service and quality of food. Everything our group had was delicious.

We had Tuscan soup, Shrimp Alfredo and the Pasta Combo in our group. The Tuscan soup was good. The marinara on the combo was thin but still good. The person having the Shrimp Alfredo was bland. Our server was pleasant and helpful as were all the staff.

We had a wonderful meal at Giovani’s! The. food was exceptional and the service was also most excellent! We will definitely be back The veal piccata, not actually on the menu, the calamari with marina sauce, and a nice glass of wine made for the perfect meal Stu

This place was amazing. We had been hiking at Colorado Bend State Park and just needed to get dinner before we went home. This place was delicious and had the most attentive service we’ve ever had. I forget our server’s name, but he was a gem. I got the veal marsala, and I’ve craved it ever since.

stopping to eat here was probably the worst decision I’ve ever made in my life. my server never even introduced herself and made me fee uncomfortable the entire time. I sat with food in front of me and no silverware for an extended amount of time, and then finally when I got my food about three bites in the was a giant curly hair! safe to say me and my friend lost our appetites. although they were already sort of gone from the taste of the rubbery school cafeteria noodles and the dry flavorless chicken. all and all, stopping here is a bad idea and I would not recommend it unless you enjoy disappointment.

Just what we expected for Lampasas, so we were satisfied. Server was very attentive, friendly and accommodating. Kids portions were ample, so good value for the price. I had Pasta Sampler. Lots of tomato sauce but it was flavorful. Husband had Philly Cheese Steak that he said was just fine. Again, we just wanted decent service, reasonable price and food that wasn’t trying to be more than it should be. Basic Italian fare that delivered. We would eat here again. Definitely better than a Pizza Hut or fast food which are the only other options in this area.

My wife and I finally decided to give Giovannis in Lampasas a try. We have been driving to Bella Sera in Marble Falls, but our last visit was sub-par due to poor service from the waiter. We have tried Giovanni’s once before and got two pizzas on a special. The pizzas were very good, but a little more pricey than I am willing to pay without a coupon or promo. We were seated, ordered our tea, and the waitress brought out bread and butter. For this meal, I ordered the Salmon Picatta. My wife ordered the Chicken Parmesan. My wife said that her Chicken Parm was perfect. The first few bites of my Salmon Picatta were delicious. The lemony sauce with capers was very tasty. As I worked my way down the filet, I noticed the center was not as warm as the ends. I cut in and the salmon was very rare. My wife encouraged me not to eat any more and called over the waitress. Since this is the first time I have had Salmon Picatta, I asked the waitress if this is how it is supposed to be served. She took the plate back to the kitchen, showed it to another member of the staff, and declared that it was underdone. She offered to replace it, but my wife had already finished eating and I did not want her to have to wait. I asked them to reduce the price due to the amount of salmon I was unable to eat and they took $ 8 off. I feel that this was fair. Judging by the other reviews and the local reputation that Giovanni’s has, I feel that this was a one-off problem. I will be back to try the Salmon Picatta again, but will ask the waitress to make sure that the salmon is cooked through.

Just stopped in on a trip home from west Texas and was pleasantly surprised with how good this place is. I ordered the Abruzzi appetizer as my meal and it was so good. The crust was thin, flakey and crunchy. The inside was stuffed with cheese, Italian sausage, pepperoni and fresh spinach and mushrooms. The lemon garlic house dressing was by far my favorite. I wish this place was much closer to home. Great food for a great price with small town charm!

Everything is good. Service is great and food is good. I would change some things to make it feel higher class like the butter for example see photo. Also the soup bowls feel cheap compared to the dinner plates. Also the paper napkins should be cloth to match the table clothes. Also lighting is a little too bright due to the fluorescent office type lights. A few minor changes could improve this place quite a bit in my opinion.

We ate here while visiting from Arizona a few weeks ago. We were pleasantly surprised with everything, from our friendly wait staff to the delicious food! I had the chicken pizziola, which itself was very good, and my daughter ordered the spicy spaghetti chicken. When they presented her plate she was momentarily dissappointed because it didn’t look like what she had imagined it should, but as soon as she took her first bite she knew that she had been mistaken. That dish was unbelievable! Just the right amount of heat in combination with tender pieces of chicken in perfectly prepared pasta. We have been discussing how to recreate this dish ever since returning home. Next time I am back in Texas I will definitely be making a return trip for that dish!

Yummmmm! Easily the best Lasagna I’ve ever had and I’ve eaten lots of lasagna. Lol their bread is to die for, light and fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside. We had dinner as we were passing through Lampasas and have to say after living in Portland, OR and Dallas, TX for the past 10 years we can’t think of an Italian restaurant that compares to Giovannis. Can’t wait to go back! Ohh, try the tomato/basil dressing on your salad, you won’t regret it. :)

There are so few good and reasonably priced Italian restaurants, let alone one in Lampasas Texas. We’ve lived in the area for almost 3 years, and finally stopped in only because we were wanting Italian food. The lunch specials were limited in that nothing«special» was listed… just the usual… spaghetti, lasagna etc. I ordered the lasagna which was less than a one inch layer. My wife ordered ziti pomodoro that she did not like. We chose salad instead of soup. A bowl of romaine with 2 tomatoe slices. All in all, the price was comparable, the service mediocre for a small town, small business. Meh.

We were extremely pleased. Our dinner was excellent and the service was really good. We ordered a cheese pizza, supreme pizza, and wings. The wings were a little unexpected, but really good. Will definitely go again.

Wow. In the little town of Lampasas. I got the special. Angel hair pasta, olive, tomatoes, shrimp, with butter based sauce. Very good shrimp. Definitely will return.

Oh my gosh this place is so good! Was craving Italian food so we drove all the way to From Briggs to give it a try & boy was I glad we did! Got some chicken plate & a manicotti & it was So very delicious! Each came with soup or salad & delicious warm bread. So so so good & cheap. My whole meal was $ 25 including a glass of wine! Will most definitely be coming out here a lot more often for a delicious & filling dinner served by a super friendly staff.

On our way back from a trip to Wimberley and we stopped in for dinner. Absolutely fantastic. Clean restaurant with great service and very reasonably priced. There were four of us and we all ordered something different from the menu. All four entrees were excellent. The bruschetta was the best I have ever eaten. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Ok, the 3.5 stars this place has right now is not enough. My wife and I were here with two friends for an event we will be doing tomorrow. Here’s the skinny: The place: From the road, it’s rather unassuming. Even approaching the door, you don’t know really what you’re in for. It stops there. Once inside, you’ll find the place to be clean, well maintained, and well decorated. The service: It was really good. Our server was a bit on the shy side, but very friendly. The food: This is obviously one of the more important points. It’s fantastic. We started with the dipping oil. It sounds like it would be that pedestrian olive oil every place throws at you with some pepper or balsamic in it. This is far better. The oil has lots of herbs in it and is very flavorful and even has some spice to it. Hey… This is Texas. Go spicy or go home. The bread also, is fantastic. Tough to say why, just trust me. All four entrees were also great. Everyone loved their plates. Overall… If you live here, you already know. If you’re within driving distance, come here. If you’re driving through this city, stop here. I can honestly say this is some of the best Italian food I’ve ever had,
