If you want good service, don’t eat on the outside deck. I think they put their worst wait staff out there. You can tell this was an institution years ago, but it’s in a bad place now. I would venture to say that’s due to poor management. The food was very good, but the service was so bad and the employees all seem unhappy and stressed. Haven’t had service that bad in a very long time.

If you are looking for a really nice steak place this is it. I’ve attended two Chef’s Dinners, many happy hours and dinner with several small groups and haven’t been disappointed. Try the buffalo steak as it’s very flavorful and the waitstaff know how to pair wines well with whatever you order. Desserts are super yummy. And bonus, a spectacular view of Denver.

Good steak, good service, good drinks. It is on the pricier side, but definitely worth it.

I attended a Chef’s Dinner with friends, I’ve attended several of these in the past and as usual, it was great! The food was paired perfectly with the wine, the Kobe beef was amazing and our server Vince anticipated what we needed before we even knew we needed it. Already looking forward to the next one!

Wow! What an amazing menu and beautiful venue for dinner. Especially spectacular overlooking the city lights. We were privileged to have Vince as our server. He never stopped. Starting with his suggestions. We each ordered steak, as it is a steakhouse. Vince helped us made great choices for sides, perfect wine pairings and continual and prompt refill service without being intrusive. I look forward to my next meal there and you can bet we’ll ask for Vince. Also, we became members of the Landry’s dining club which is awesome. Thank you Vince and Simms management for superb staffing. This gentleman is the best of the best.

After speaking to the manager about my experience last night at Simm’s, it was made very clear that they take their customer service seriously. I was pleased to hear that he was speaking to his staff & was going to right the wrong that occurred. He also is mailing 2 vouchers for my husband and I to enjoy brunch on the house. I was very pleased & my husband was relieved! We are excited to try Simm’s for brunch & are so grateful that Anthony took the time to speak with me. My husband and I are looking forward to our next visit.

I wouldn’t come back here. We had to wait for the hostess to finish her conversation to come seat us, then had to wait 25 minutes for someone to bring us menus. They acted surprised to see us, like we hadn’t been waiting there. Wine was great, salads were fresh and yummy, but for the price I paid for a chicken breast, I’d hope that it wouldn’t be a tiny, overly-boney thigh piece with little to no flavor. Plus a literal mountain of potatoes. They were generous enough to include 3 asparagus, so generous. For a 50 dollar meal, I was really disappointed. Tl;dr, good view and good wine, bad everything else

Awful! I had never been before, and will certainly never go again! The service was ok and that’s about the only reason I would give this place a star, I had the fish, trout, and it was literally swimming in a pool of water, and was completely tasteless! Sent it back, and since other people around me were complaining about their food, and my husbands steak was half grizzle and his«baked» potato was raw, I decided not to place a new order. I will say that the mashed potatoes my husband got after the raw potato was pretty good. But for the price of this place the steak should have been amazing! And it wasn’t even close, if you do end up here, maybe just have a drink and enjoy the views because that’s about all this place is good for.

Zero veg/vegan options essentially. $ 50 brunch for potatoes. Wonderful. Others at my table commented about how undercooked the prime rib was, how only every third crab leg tasted good or so. Waiter couldn’t be bothered it seemed. $ 350 meal and the best everyone could come up with was, well, we should go elsewhere. I feel like this place was awesome in its’ hay day, has the feel and view, but that day is long over. Heard the cinnamon rolls were good. Two stars because the fruit was decent and the potatoes were tasty. Better fancy places in Denver that don’t have to try to be fancy.

I am happy to say the manager of Simms called me today to discuss our awful group experience this past Saturday. He assured me he would address the issue with his staff and apologized for the awful time we had there. This does not make last Saturday any better but he did handle the situation appropriately, which is appreciated.

A fine steakhouse with a great view. We are from Texas and had dinner at Simms on a Saturday night. A bit of a glitch at the start. We arrived on time for a 6:30 reservation but had to wait till 6:45 for seating. We passed a number of empty tables on the way to ours which had a superior view of Denver. The hold up was so as not to overload the wait staff which were able to promptly take a drink and appetizer order. The oysters were fresh and excellent. Service was timely for red wine opening, salads, and the main course as well as desert and coffee. The food was good. Each of the four steaks ordered was done as requested and tender. The special, a filet with shrimp stuffed with crab cake was had by three in our party. The shrimp were fine but the crab cake stuffing seemed all stuffing with no crab. Salads were fresh tastes and well dressed. The deserts were large and way above the average for most restaurants. We had two different red wines and did get multiple wine glasses. This Mother’s Day meal for four was $ 560 without tip and we felt we had received that in value for the evening. We will return.

Didn’t know much about this restaurant. It’s more on the upscale side so definitely business casual minimum. Service and ambience were great. The restaurant sits on a hill so great view of metro area. Really nice décor. Braised beef rib and steak were very nice. Amazing Mac and cheese. 5 stars for total experience.

Brunch on 2−28−16. The reason I gave this one star is the water, it was cold and tasted good… other than that, what a dump! I won’t go into my history with Simms Landing, and now Simms Steak House, but let’s say it goes back a long way. So… we showed up 15 minutes early for our 10:30AM brunch reservation, and checked in. Our hostess asked us to have a seat. 15 minutes later she came over and said«can I help you?» I looked at her and said«yes…I assumed we were waiting for a table»…she looked at me with a blank stare and sat us at our table. I assumed she must be a robot and her battery was low… Anyway…the food was no better than Denny’s(which I haven’t been to in 30 years), meaning the price(about $ 75 with tip) for two of us was outrageous! The brunch food was barely warm, my «made to order» eggs Benedict egg was rock hard, and the buffet area look unkempt, old, and dirty… yeah I know… WOW! Our dog did enjoy the tidbits we brought home for him, but he did spit out a piece of pancake, thought about it for a minute, and then ate it(that means a one star from my dog as well)… What can I say? Looking around the restaurant and watching people wolf down this crap, most dressed in ripped blue jeans, I guess says a lot for the restaurant scene now days… Anyway…the old days are long gone… don’t’ eat here…

Come for the steak, but stay for the views. I enjoyed one of the best steaks I’ve ever had here(ribeye) perfectly cooked. I highly recommend pairing with the duck fat potatoes and asparagus. The views from the restaurant is hands down one of the best you’ll find; overlooking downtown Denver with the front range to the south. In the warm months, enjoy sitting out on the patio and taking in the great ambience. Believe it or not, they have a pretty strong happy hour if you want to take in the views without having an entire meal. This restaurant would be great to celebrate a special occasion or just to treat yourself to a fabulous meal.

Sad, but its another one of those restaurants that is surviving on a reputation built in its glory days. Its where your Dad wanted to go for a special occasion, you know the place… The place where celebrities who died 30 years ago once went. The service is always slow and ineffective. In fact we were sitting at the bar and since the bartender couldn’t or wouldn’t take care of us the manager did. Unfortunately he seemed equally as confused. Worse he then proceeded to «teach» us about some of the beers they have on tap only to show he either knows nothing about beer or he is a complete bullshit artist. The service remained slow for the rest of the evening… Food is decent, but not worth what they ask for it. Great app menu, priced fairly at happy hour. Really nothing else that special about the food, I’d compare to Lone Star or Outback in terms of steaks. The view is always worthwhile, but bring a coat. Don’t know if it is the building or an old furnace, but the place is drafty. Humor your Dad, and let him go there. But, if your on your own save your money and go elsewhere.

We love the beautiful views of this restaurant! Been there few times when it was Simms Landing. Tonight was our 1st time back after changed to Simms steakhouse. We started with a bottle of red wine for 4 of us. Crab cake and Calamari for appetizers was just delicious! Then the dinner rolls was so warm, soft and yummy. Main course that we ordered, we didn’t have to wait too long either. I had a bit of center cut filet mignon rom my daughter’s plate, it was very tender, my rib eye steak was just right. But the filet and the ribeye dinner plates would looked much better if added a little decoration to it. Other 2 dishes: trout and shrimps were ok. We had better in other restaurants. Mashed potato was average. The total bill for our dinner of four was around $ 225. Service was good. Atmosphere was nice, comfortable warm in the dinning area. We parked in the lower parking lot. It would be nice to add some lighting in the lower walking path area.

The Denver skyline is an absolute treat eating at steakhouse nested in the hillside. I have no problem suggesting this location for a date or special occasion on the ambiance alone, yet as a steakhouse, this does not stand out for me. I love the presentation of the dinner rolls, arranged in a flower design. The cinnamon butter it was served with was absolutely addicting. I am convinced all restaurants should serve this. For the food itself, I had the chance to try the lobster bisque, bone-in fillet mignon, and an assortment of sides. For the money, I would likely recommend not getting the bone-in. I found my order overly cooked to try to get the meat around the bone cooked, which impacted the texture of the rest of the cut. The lobster bisque was bold with flavor and a great soup. None of the sides stood out for me. In context, I ate here with a group, which is a challenge for the staff to serve, but should be a common fare for a restaurant of this pedigree, though I frequently felt like service was not very fine tuned. Orders were confused and glasses were empty on several occasions. Harsh as it may be, I think Simms plays in a category of restaurants where group service is important.

If they were closer, we would hit their happy hour more often. We sat at the bar, and the staff was friendly. The décor was a little strange, couldn’t quite pinpoint what they are going for, however, the view from the patio is amazing. Nice, quiet place for happy hour. Tips: The beef sliders were delicious as were the fish tacos and the steak bruschetta. The Chorizo sliders were a little dry. The portions were also on the smaller side. We will go back if we are ever around that part of town and we are able to make Happy Hour which is daily 4 – 7.
