R Kitchen Soul Food

Nice, friendly service and really great food. Definitely a hidden gem in Lakewood. I had the turkey meat loaf with mac and cheese and mashed potatoes and it was all so good. The mac and cheese especially is some of the best I’ve ever had. Definitely gonna come again.

I came here because my boyfriend wanted to try the soul food, but I was distracted by the fish market next door. However, the people here were really nice, and made ya feel like home. After trying the Turkey Meatloaf Lunch he ordered (and Mac n cheese… WOOP WOOP), I immediately regretted my decision and almost went in to buy another for myself. Don’t make the mistake I made. Try R-​Kitchen!!!

The oxtails were fantastic. Service is fast and friendly and they give huge portions.

The fried chicken was fresh and hot. Juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside. The mac n cheese and mashed potatoes were delicious as well. Employees were very friendly. Will definitely be going back!

I love coming to this place, one thing you must try when coming here is the fried chicken dinner with Mac and cheese! Everything that I have tried here has not disappointed.

Great Soul food in town! Just down the street from home!!! Going back again and again. Friendly and down to earth people. This is one of my favorite Soul food restaurants or the best I’ve had in a long while.

Went back today. Was not disappointed. The peach cobbler was heaven. And the green beans, oh my gosh, the green beans…

Went here with my girlfriend and kids on Mother’s Day and the food was delicious. Their Mac and cheese is amazing greens are delicious black eyed peas mash cabbage and fried chicken all perfection. Not sure if this place is new but we will definitely be coming back. It’s been hard to find good soul food in this area and this place really hits the spot. I recommend take out cause it’s a little cozy in there but if you dine in the service is great too.

Good food, i had burger Saturday (taste homemade a d the went Sunday for turkey ribs and Wednesday for chicken chops dinner. The mac, dressing and yams are GREAT

I’ve been wanting to try R-​Kitchen for the past few months, and I finally got to do it for the first time today. My only regret is not coming to R-​Kitchen sooner.
I tried Chicken Chops for the first time. It’s basically fried chicken breast that’s breaded and shaped like a pork chop. The lunch came with two sides so I got collard greens and green beans plus they add cornbread. A lunch meal with all that is a great deal, but what was most impressive was how fresh the collard greans and green beans tasted.
A lot of times you go to restaurants and if the side orders sit there for a while, they tend to not taste as fresh and hot. Not the sides here at R-​Kitchen. The chicken chops came hot, and the side orders came fresh and hot as well.
They even gave me a taste of the mac n’ cheese, which is probably one of the best I’ve ever had. I can’t wait to come eat here again. I have to also add how friendly these guys were. I felt like I was at home or at my uncles house and they were cooking me up some soul food.
SO when youre in the neighborhood and are looking for authentic soul food with a staff providing great hospitality, come ask for Floyd and Al. They’ll do it right for you. Thanks again fellas. See you guys soon!

Good soul Food !!! It a hole in the wall !!! Best soul I have tasted!!! The peach cobbler was off the wall !! Taste like your momma made it. Food was hot !!! Love this place.

Freshly made food was delicious some of the best soul food I’ve ever had to the mac and cheese, off the hook collard greens and crispy delicious Fried Chicken on top was the best service and to die for candy yams! On the side of all of that was delicious moist cornbread definitely coming back here!

I believe this was the best soul food I’ve tried thus far. The chicken was fried perfectly with just enough seasoning along with the yams, mashed potatoes and Mac n cheese. The corn bread was moist and the customer service was astonishing. I live about an hour away, but was in the area and actually drove away from a different establishment because I was persuaded by the greater reviews here at R Kitchen. The prices were also reasonable as well, I will definitely be making my way over here again!

Pleasant find on Unilocal.Was looking for a new spot to try and they did not disappoint! Everything was delicious and the staff was so friendly. Can’t wait to go back and try the oxtails.

Excellent new soul food spot finally near my home. I ordered the smothered pork chops, cabbage, green beans, and mac & cheese. Their flavors were on point. My son ordered the turkey meatloaf, corn, cabbage, and mac & cheese. He states that if you’re looking for soul food with some «twang» to it, the is a good spot.
Customer service is excellent. The way the people who are running the place interact with customers is nice. The gentleman asked me if I’d like something to drink while I waited. I declined but nice gesture.
Overall if you can spare a few calories for some southern food, I’d spend them on this place. Have a little patience when you go. The food is worth the wait.
Don’t forget to grab some of their peach cobbler for desert. Tasty.

Fried Chicken is the way to go! Whether you get thighs, wings or the «chicken chops», get you some fried chicken! Loved the candied yams. Great burgers too!

Just finished my dinner, everything was very good. I have the fried wings, greens and macaroni and cheese. My desert, Peach cobbler was awesome.

Food was Fiyah… I definitely was satisfied and most definitely will be back. The chicken was a nice golden brown with a crisp you can’t resist and seasoned to the tee!.. The Mac n Cheese was bomb, nice and cheesy. Oooo the Pound Cake was off the hook moist, just the right amount of butter, sugar, taste just like Mamas!!! Pass the Word and give this jawn a try. Don’t cheat yaself treat yaself

I usually don’t take the time to write reviews but this food has been consistently AMAZING!!! I am very picky about soul food so for me to give this place 5 stars it has to be the best! The fried chicken is always fresh, well seasoned and not salty! Greens and Cabbage is cooked to perfection and the Mac and Cheese puts every other soul food restaurant to shame!!! The smothered pork chops are amazing… and the cornbread won’t go to waste!!! I will definitely be a regular!
