The crab cheese wonton were the best I’ve ever had. The egg rolls and hot & spur soup amazing. The standard fried rice noting added was good. The portions here are incredible. Leftovers for days. Knocked one star for the breading on the chicken.

I met my comedic friend and radio co-producer here for lunch. He eats here all the time but this was my first experience of «Peking Tokyo Express». It’s located next to a «Freaky’s» head shop and there’s a gun shop at the other end of the strip mall — everything a soul could need. At first I thought, «Zippy’s so confused. Peking isn’t in Japan!» but then I perused the menu and realized they serve Chinese, Thai, and Vietnamese food. Then I thought, «Wait a minute! Where’s the Tokyo food?» I sat in a booth and waited for my friend to arrive. I asked not one but two disinterested waitresses what they would recommend. Neither could make a suggestion. They looked blankly at me. So my friend arrived and we both ordered hot and sour soup — which was excellent — and similar entrees, from the Thai portion of the menu: It was«Eggplant with Thai Spicy Sauce» with chicken, beef, and shrimp. I asked the waitress if they could substitute tofu for beef on my order, but the question seemed too much for her to handle. So I asked they simply eliminate the beef and add more chicken and shrimp. I felt like Jack Nicholson in «Five Easy Pieces.» I suspect they just omitted the beef. The fortune cookie was nice.

Peking Tokyo is my favorite Chinese/Asian cuisine restaurant EVER. My family has been coming here for at least 10 years. When I was a kid, my mom would always order food from here and that’s what started my love for it. As an adolescent I would come here occasionally, but as an adult, I am here at least a couple times a month. I introduced my boyfriend to this place and it’s become one of our go to spots. We come here so often that the staff knows who we are and has our usual order memorized! While going to school in Fort Collins, any time I came back home to Denver Peking Tokyo was a MUST to go to before I had to go months without having it again. My favorite dish is the lo mein. Their lo mein is unlike any others. It’s so flavorful and you get so much of it and it’s very very inexpensive. I like to order the combo lo mein and I’ll get it without the veggies, just because I mostly want to eat the noodles and meat and I’m not a huge fan of all the extra vegetables, but even with the vegetables it’s great! In addition, the crab cheese wontons are AMAZING. They are so creamy and always so fresh that I sometimes risk burning my mouth because I’m too impatient to wait for them to cool off. You get about 8 in an order(I think), which I feel is a pretty substantial amount compared to other restaurants. When you go in, you are provided some delicious hot jasmine tea, which seems to last forever. We like to start off with a bowl of egg drop soup, which once again this place has probably my favorite egg drop soup. This is also very hot and fresh, so don’t be too eager or you WILL burn your tongue. I’ll get my usual order of lo mein and my boyfriend typically orders the Bo Luc Loc, which is like marinated diced steak served over a bed of tomatoes, lettuce, and grilled onions, topped with cilantro. The marinade/sauce that it is cooked in is fantastic! It has kind of like a teriyaki flavor, but is much better than just that. It is seasoned with like pepper and just overall it’s soooo good! It goes really well with their steamed rice. The staff is very attentive. And always making sure your water is full and checking in. They are really friendly and it’s always nice that they have their same staff members that we recognize. Ultimately, this is an amazing restaurant. Their menu is HUGE serving Asian cuisine from Chinese, Vietnamese, to Thai food(I think there’s even a couple more but I can’t recall right of the top of my head). I mostly stick to what I’ve already mentioned, but the drunken noodles are another favorite. If you come here, I would recommend ordering the dinner size because you get a bit more, but it still very inexpensive with a lot of amazing flavor! And it always makes for great leftovers!

Awesome place for different variety of Chinese foods. My ultimate favorite is the garlic steak with vegetables. Incredible flavor and great value, it seems a little pricy but you get your money’s worth for sure!~ The only thing that lacks is the environment, needs a little updating. But if your going pick up or delivery it is 5 stars!

I ordered delivery an hour and a half later it didn’t come I called them 3 times and they said«we very busy»…so I gave them one star on Unilocal to help them out with that

This is a small, quiescent place with average service. I think all their chicken items are the same thing except with different sauce. My dad got orange chicken and I got sesame chicken. It was utterly disappointing that they were the exact same cut of chicken and cooked exactly the same way; they just had different sauces on them. Not only that but they didn’t taste very good either.

It was hard to believe they could charge that much for old chicken and over cook food. It was old panda express.

You would never know from looking at this place that the food could be so good. The wonton soup was great and the chicken teriyaki rice bowl special was awesome to the last bite. The price was very reasonable for the quality of the food and the large portions.

YES! And that’s for every night and there’s been about 5 that’s I’ve had delivery(fast) to the Hampden Inn down the street or quick pickup. Vietnamese, Chinese & Thai — wow! The menu is huge and everything has been great. I’ll continue to return.

Food was very delicious. I ordered chicken chow main and it was a huge portion. Husband ordered sesame chicken and it was huge as well. Good taste for both. Hot and sour soup is highly recommended. Egg roll had lots of shredded cabbage, too. Ordered the barbecue pork for an appetizer… Didn’t care for it, tho. Hubs enjoyed it. Next time we’ll go for wontons. Needless to say we had lots of leftovers. The portions are huge so you could order 1 plate for 2 people. Menu is quite huge and many options to satisfy your cravings. Oh and staff is very attentive and welcoming. They kept refilling my water, even if I drank a quarter of it.

Décor is a touch off, but the food is really good. Had pad Thai with chicken and my boyfriend has sesame chicken. Both dishes were a sizable portion and tasted really good. Place was clean. The strip plaza the place is in is kind of dumpy.

Fine variety of Asian cultural feasting. Quick service with kind, attentive staff. The hot and sour soup is outstanding and the curries are tasty and spiced well. I highly recommend this establishment.

I could have filled up on their crab cheese wonton. We got the chicken lo mein, general tso’s chicken, and hot and sour soup. All we good except the soup and the chicken lo mein had an odd smell but tasted great so I’m assuming it had to do with something else cooked in the pan. Overall it’s the best Chinese place we’ve found in our area!

Love this place, been loyal customers for more years than I can remember. When we have guests, they always want us to order from Peking-Tokyo. Normally I would say a restaurant should do one thing well, but Peking Tokyo does so many things so well — Viet, Chinese, and Thai. You can’t go wrong with Kung Pao Chicken, phở, egg rolls/spring rolls… and the drunken noodles. Great people who consistently deliver great food.

This is hands-down the best Chinese/Thai/Vietnamese delivery restaurant I’ve ever experienced. I’m not saying they are a Michelin Star type of restaurant, so don’t get me wrong. However, their menu is huge, they do everything on it well, and the delivery is fast and very hot, every time. We have dined-in on several occasions. It’s just what you want from a good, authentic restaurant. Kind of dingy, in desperate need of repainting, crumbs on the floor. I’m not sure why anyone could have a negative review of this place. I guess everyone has their own experiences and opinions. However, we have probably eaten their food at least 20 times in a year and a half, and we’ve only been somewhat disappointed once(must have been a new cook or something). You can tell that everything they make is truly made in-house, including their fried wontons and dumplings. After eating at Peking Tokyo Express, I finally figured out all of the other places we were eating at were using frozen food to fulfill some of their menu items. When we do delivery, it is quite literally STEAMING hot when we take it out of the box. I’ve never had that experience before with any delivery, especially not consistently. Get the Udon Noodles with chicken. They are delish!

Uninspiring. Service was fine. Crab wontons were lovely. Both of our meals were meh. I had the pork chow mein. Hardly touched it. I would actually go back just for the wontons.

*****I would be remiss if I didn’t update you Unilocalers. I have NEVER re-reviewed an establishment based on negativity. But here goes. BEWAREOFNEWDEVELOPMENTS at Peking, Tokyo Express in Lakewood, CO****** I would like to start off by stating that we tip our delivery drivers ATLEAST20% of the total — they have ALWAYS been fantastic. That being said, PTE has been our go-to delivery place for well over 20 years. Our LAST and FINAL transaction transpired tonight. We placed a normal order totaling $ 36 and received speedy delivery well within the quoted time(they beat it by almost 15 minutes). This is not the issue. Quality has gone noticeably down-hill. What pains us is the customer service response to items that were simply inedible. «Did you eat it,» the rep asked. «Well, we tried it and that is where the complaint comes in,» my wife told them. Well, suffice it to say, after ordering takeout 4 – 5 times per month, we are DONE. We were told to bag up what was wrong and they would come and inspect it and then determine if a credit or replacement was in order. The accusatory response to our legitimate complaint was unwarranted. Their complete inability or refusal to make things right was unconscionable. We asked them to look at our order history to confirm we are not the type to complain — result? Hung up on. DONOTDOBUSINESSWITHTHISESTABLISHMENT… As quality and customer service goes down, so does business. We know they will be their own ruin, we just hope to help others avoid our frustration. It appears that the elders who once ran this place with exceptionalism in mind have given over the reins to a younger management team who simply DOESNOTCARE about repeat business, let alone creating relationships with happy, repeat customers.

You absolutely cannot find better cheese wonton in the entire city! In addition to the wonton, their vegetable fried rice is amazing. I’ve had these two dishes 4 times in the past year, and they are consistently fresh and delicious! The staff is also very attentive, helpful and kind. GETTHECHEESEWONTON!

I have been vacillating between writing a 3-star vs. a 4-star review(since I cannot give half stars) because as much as I like Peking Tokyo, there is nothing particularly unique about it. I like all kinds of Asian food and Peking Tokyo is perfect for that because it offers a wide variety of Chinese, Thai, and Vietnamese dishes. I’ve tried dishes from all three menus and have liked them all, but nothing stands out as spectacular. The location is convenient(right off of Hampden) and parking is fairly easy since their are many other businesses around. Peking Tokyo offers efficient service with reasonable prices making it a great place to go during your lunch hour. If you are looking for the best Vietnamese, Thai, or Chinese food in town, then you may want to continue looking, but if you are looking for a good place to meet others with a versatile menu with a little something for everyone, then this is definitely your place.
