Living Beyond Limits--A Center for Spiritual Living

I’ve never fit into traditional churches because my background is one of a Christian mother and Jewish father. I went to Center for Spiritual Living and found my new spiritual home. Affirmations, prayers, meditation, Love, and respect for all other religions and beliefs. If you looking for a church family, you most certainly will find them here. A community of like minded souls wanting to hear messages about the meaning of life and having explained to us why are we here. The pastor gives inspiring messages and heads you in the right direction. A community where everyone is accepted, no discrimination for race, sex, gender, age etc. The main message love EVERYONE you meet, we are all equals. Quoted sources are the Koran, Bible„ Buddha, Ghandi, Robert Frost etc, who ever emphasizes the message of Love and acceptance. Many of her talks have hit home with me about better direction for living, actually living beyond what I may have perceived as my limit. It will happen to you also when you come for a visit. Stay for coffee hour and chat with a few members and be welcomed. Warning: the morning greeting session may turn into a big hug session, but first timers mainly get hand shakes unless you chose otherwise. Wonderful songs, popular ones are Imagine, Give Peace a Chance, Power of Love, etc. Many musicians have their music available for you to take home.

I have never gone to another church where I felt so spiritually connected to the philosophy, to the congregation and, especially, to the minister. She is a master at putting a sermon together that always feels as if
it relates, so personally, to your own life. I feel in love with my life and the bigger world because of my connection to this church family.

Centers for Spiritual Living have been part of my life for nearly 20 years. The classes, the Sunday messages, the camaraderie of like-​minded folks, the prayer treatments — all have lifted and supported me, offering tools to live a better life. Rev. Jennifer is a gifted, inspiring teacher of Divine Love. The members of Living Beyond Limits are my spiritual family. We work together to grow in our understanding and use of The Law. We serve together to help others and each other. And we play together! In other words, we share the joy of supporting one another and discovering the Divine in ourselves and each other. «When the student is ready, the teacher appears.» Are you ready?

Being a gay recovering Catholic, I was attracted to the Centers for Spiritual Living for its emphasis on individual spirituality without rules, rigidity or threats of damnation. A practicing Buddhist for many years, I resonated with the importance of the three jewels: the Buddha, the teachings, and the community. But it wasn’t until I came to Living Beyond Limits that my spirit truly FELT the power of community in my life. This has been of incredible value in my spiritual evolution. With Reverend Jennifer’s insightful teachings each week, members are inspired to remember and be our highest selves in the world. I leave each week with the spiritual fuel in my tank to amplify and share the light within myself and to recognize it in others. Now, in addition to opening to the enlightened teachings of the Buddha, I am better able to appreciate the teachings of many spiritual masters both past and present. I am very thankful to have found such an affirming spiritual center with a wonderful leader at its helm.

I cannot say enough about what this organization and philosophy has done to improve my life, what I think about myself and how I handle daily stresses. There is such a positive energy emanating from the group of people who call themselves «church members» that it amazes me every time we get together. If you are tired of the dogma of traditional church life, then I do suggest you give it a try. The Sunday services are online on their website also. They offer positive messages about hope, self-​empowerment and spirituality that is far above anything I’ve ever experienced. Reverend Jennifer is amazing, both in her ability to inspire and her personality.
