The moment we walked into this motel was a mistake but it was 10 o’clock and there was no camp sites available. We walked in and i thought it was fine until we turned the lights on. The mini fridge was dirty and in the ice trays there was little bugs of some sort, when I walked into the bathroom around the toilet and in the tub was disgusting. I looked closer in the shower and there where pubes just sitting there and a wet towel on the side of the tub indicating it hadn’t really been cleaned. Walking back out we notice the mirror was incredibly dirty the walls were disgusting along with chairs and the floor that probably had never been cleaned the smoke alarm had been taken off and no batteries in there and the final thing that gets to me was the chain lock had been unscrewed and wasn’t there.

Dude at the front desk was incredibly nice and funny. The room was what you’d expect for $ 85. Clean, good wifi, I stayed 2 more nights after that

I knew going in that this was going to be a dive but I figured it would be OK. It was not. The motel was dirty outside and in. Our room was very dirty… a piece of used toilet paper behind the toilet, hair on the bathroom counter and something that may have been rat crap on the floor. My wife would not walk on the floor in her bare feet. There were also various crack heads that looked like they lived in the motel. I am usually very tolerant if a motel is a little bit of a dump but this place was really bad. The only positive thing I can say is that the TV had a channel with actual porn on it for free, not the kind of soft porn that you usually have to pay for in hotels.

This place was clean and awesome. Plain and simple The owner may not be present the front desk so you have to ring the night window bell. His customer service totally made that worth it however.

The last time I wrote a review for a Hotel was when I visited Vegas over the Summer. This time I’m writing one because I was a victim of unfortunate circumstances… we were the unlucky victims of a fire in our apartment complex last week… yeah, it was bad. The fire department was able to put it out in a few hours so red cross stepped in and placed us in this hotel for 4 days. First off, I had heard this place was full of shady characters on what not but honestly, I didn’t see any of that when I stayed here and I was here over the weekend. Our room was clean, maybe not like a Motel 6 chain clean but it was habitable. We had a/c, a fridge, cable and comfy beds. The hotel itself had washer and dryers on premises., a soda machine and plenty of parking free wifi too. It didn’t have a pool, room service and a few other nice amenities but I am not complaining. We were close to being homeless and I am grateful just to have had a place to stay. A 7 Eleven is within walking distance as well as the 605 freeway and Long Beach Town Center is across the street. Like I said, it’s not a fancy chain hotel but it was cozy and the front desk man was nice and brought us anything we needed(towels, etc). I’m back at home, no fire or water damage. it’s good to be home but I’ll sort of miss those days at Lakewood Inn.
