I’ve been meaning to come by here ever since I figured out it was a bakery and not a restaurant supply place. We tried the potato, egg & cheese kolaches as well as sausage & gravy, and a variety of the fruity filling topped ones. Good stuff. Loved the sausage & gravy combo. We will be back soon!

Dont eat this kind of food, omg! Best bread ive ever had. My son made me go there twice in one day! I bought a box to take back to work, had to fight everyone off. I was amazed at the variety of food. From deserts, pizza style, bbq, bacon egg and all… all wrapped up in the best roll you have ever tasted. There is something for everyone. My only concern is the price. It isnt cheap. We bought 14 of them for about $ 35. My son ate 2 – 3 and was beyond stuffed though.

My husband and I stopped out of here on our way out of town. While they were not as spectacular as the hype they were quite good. A handy breakfast type item. I would certainly try more variations when I am thru town again.

Holy buns Batman!!! I’ve passed by this place a few times and each time I go there is always a full house in the parking lot and impatient me never wanted to wait in line. Oh how was I was so dumb and so wrong to do that, this place is frickin awesome! Well, for the most part frickin awesome. The chick working with the counter with the Dollar Tree dye job and sullen attitude was a pill to swallow and the inside of the restaurant is completely dated. There are only a few tables inside and it was reminiscent of a dirty, 80’s mall food court. Suffice to say, we went outside to sit at the tables they share with Starbucks. Not only do they have breakfast meals in a bun but also lunch items so I got conflicted pretty quickly. They had so many I couldn’t decide but when I saw bacon jalapeño popper, game was on! I took a bite into mine and soon found a creamy mix of bacon, jalapenos and cream cheese aka heaven in a bun. I tried to savor each bite, which turned out to be three and regretted not going to this place before. My friend got the sausage and gravy and when she bit into hers she had the same look of ecstacy so I would say they know what they’re doing. The Kolache Factory has won the«Best Meal in a Bun» award from Westword and I think that award is just the coolest thing ever because who doesn’t like finding a hidden treasure of meat and cheese in a bun? I will definitely be going back here when I’m in the area and quite possibly ordering one of their party packs instead of just one lonely bun.

I have no issue with this Kolache factory. It had been a long time since I had been to one. The food was good, though I could swear the non-spicy Denver was spicier than the spicy Ranchero.. .but perhaps I got them mixed up! The place is how I like Kolache Factories, right next to a starbucks. I’m not sure why they have such great breakfast items but are asleep at the wheel as far as coffee. Pretty much like going to a gas station, with these crappy capucinno machines. So you get your coffee, order your Kolache’s, and head out. Definitly they are better than any of the food stuff Starbucks serves. I may eat here again in a year, I do live far away. Its good, just not worth driving in for I guess.. .

Yum. I don’t know how to say Kolache but I do know they taste DELICIOUS! We came here after a wedding dress fitting to grab a Starbucks but were too intrigued and detoured inside. My sister and I split two different ones and then were delicious. I would agree with Jamie L. that it was fairly grimy inside though… we grabbed ours to go but I think it could use a facelift and a deep cleaning.

I’ve noticed that a LOT of these reviews are old. There’s a reason. I LOVED this place when I first found it. I’d drive 30 minutes to get there. It was a novel concept(at least to me) that was fairly well executed. No more. It’s gotten progressively filthier, with flies everywhere, filthy, sticky tables, dirty floors and counters, and even dirty windows. The selection always dwindles, if you don’t get there at 6am, you can expect 3 – 4 options of old, dried out, sitting-on-the-filthy-counter-open-to-the-flies leftovers. And you can be treated to the chicky behind the counter telling you that she«just ate the last» blueberry kolache. Keep driving.

the BEST imitation bao I ever had! I wish I thought of a place like this for a business. lol. We went there and ordered 8 different Kolaches. My favorite and go-to item was the jalapeño & cream cheese. NOMNOM. When we got back to my brother’s house, the box of kolache was demolished within minutes. LUCKILY, my brother lives 3 minutes from the joint, so we hopped back into the car and drove back :) this eatery is definitely a MUST when you are in the area. AINTNOSHAMEINMYEATINGGAME :)

I can’t tell you how many years I drove by this place and never even knew what a «Kolache» was. My sweetie turned me on(see what I did there?) to these little Russian«pastries» and OMG… I love them! This is the perfect little inexpensive breakfast place. There’s a Starbucks right next door to grab some quick coffee and kolaches. The parking can be a pain though especially with a line of cars in front waiting at the Starbucks drive-thru. There are plenty of warm kolaches to choose from; meatball, ham, bacon egg and cheese, etc. as well as fruit filled kolaches like strawberry, blueberry, and apricot, etc. and I’ll take kolaches over doughnuts for breakfast hands down. I really do love coming here but unfortunately you do have to get here early to get the best selection because after 10 am it seems that all the best kolaches have already been snatched up and the seemingly nice employees seem rather reluctant to make any fresh ones because they close at 2 pm and would rather not let anything go to waste than bake some more fresh kolaches for us mid-morning/afternoon noshers who like to sleep in. I guess if I REALLY want that meatball kolache I’m going to have to get my tired ass out of bed early or I’m gonna be S.O.L.

Love the Kolache Factory, especially for a quick, delicious breakfast on the weekends. I can make scrambled eggs and pancakes at home, but I can’t make these amazing pockets of goodness!!! My favorites are the jalapeño popper(cream cheese, jalapenos, and bacon), the ham and cheese(melty, cheesy goodness and ham), and the cream cheese(which is sweet). They’re made fresh everyday, and they warm them up for you. I love their dough, which is just a bit salty, but über soft and perfectly chewy. Must try!

Wow seriously wow this has the beat breakfast food ever! Decent prices, they are pre-made so perfect for getting on the road even for kids as there is nothing overly sticky. I have yet to find someone that does not enjoy this place. Not counting Unilocal. They are basically food rolled into a bun, for us that remember it is similar to a Manhattan role. It can have breakfast food such as eggs, bacon, sausage, jalapenos and what not all rolled into the bun warmed for you and quick great food to eat! They are made fresh daily sometimes multiple times a day.

I love this place. My only issue is the location of where I live(Aurora) and where they are, and their hours. I used to work in Belmar which was an almost daily option for me. I always get a cream cheese one NOMATTERWHAT. Its a perfect combo of both sweet and cream, with chewy and a little salty in the dough/butter brushed danish. I have had breakfast ones, pizza style, meatball, and so far nothing has disappointed.

Food: 3 Service: 4 Convenience: 3 Value: 2 First time here. They were good but nothing special. Sausage was good but the ham and cheese tasted weird, they were out of egg and ham. Food: Fillings were good/ok. Pretty small for price. They heat them up for 10 seconds in the microwave. Service — Good/welcoming. Convenience — Same building as Starbucks so it was perfect. Value — Small portions. At least 2 – 3 for a snack, 4 – 5 for lunch to fill me up. Might as well go to a pancake place or egg/breakfast place and have a meal for the same price. I’ll try it again one of these days but think my review will change much.

Yet another place I wont be visiting again. Not that it was bad, it just wasn’t good. Very average, small portions and overpriced. I had two breakfast Kolaches, both of which were edible. Not filling, but at least they didn’t get me sick. If you are into boring fare, they are at least fresh, and you will probably enjoy this place. As an aside, the menu lists«natural juice» with the breakfast. I guess«natural» is a very broad term, so Dole in a bottle from concentrate is probably natural in some way, shape or form. Bön Crapatite!

As I am originally from Texas I am very familiar with kolaches. Since leaving Texas several years ago I have been on the hunt for these everywhere I’ve been. Eureka! the Kolache Factory is here in Colorado! I was just searching the web one day and I ran across a comment about this location in the Denver area. I was so excited! The very next day I visited the location and it did not disappoint. They had all my favorites… and even more than I knew were possible! They were fresh, tasty and the real deal! Most people in the US have never heard of a kolache, so if you’re reading this, you might not know what it is either, but don’t worry… you’ll love ‘em. Please try them at once so that we can encourage the growth of this business in our area… and this location does provide the highest quality and best tasting product. I will be stopping by tomorrow morning to take an order of these to my co-workers… let’s spread the word Denver!

Definitely a different kind of bakery! I’d go back more to support such an independent eatery if they’ll send me coupons(I have to admit the rolls are kind of expensive). Some of the fillings start tasting the same after a while(e.g. the Pizza and the Ranchero). Should’ve sticked to the classics like the ham & cheese… One can never go wrong with the sweet ones though! The buns could be a little better as they do tend to stick to the teeth. I also find it humurous that all the bun-rolls look the same, there really isn’t a way to tell what’s what besides the signs on the wall. They need to put out more pictures if they want to attract people.

Kolache. Not to be confused with a kolachkie. Apparently they are two different things. These reminded me of those sticky sweet buns I would have at Dim Sum but with different fillings. My roommate and I stumbled upon this place by accident, only because we were both looking for a Starbucks to calm our caffeine cravings. This place was attached to the Starbucks. I decided to try the sausage, cheese & jalapeño and the flavor of the month which was Chicken enchilada. Now, the«sausage» is really a fancy word for«hot dog» but still, it was an interesting combo with the sweet bread. It’s definitely a cheap quick alternative to the fast food joints around. I’m tempted to come back next time for a dozen of these bad boys.

Because I referenced Marie’s Café in the earlier review. Okay so Marie’s in Boulder is still there and damn it! their Kolacek(kolache) is nothing like I remembered it. What should have I expected I guess after over a 30 year hiatus. I’m sorry to say that Marie’s Kolacek sucked. Shite! So we’ve been back to Kolache Factory mainly because of their buy 3 get 3 for free coupon in the Entertainment coupon book. Sometimes good(and more importantly cheap) has to be good enough.

It’s easy to overlook the Kolache Factory, despite the fact that they’re situated right off 1st and Wadsworth and have a huge sign visible from all lanes of traffic. Easy, I say, because they share a building with The Omnipotent, Everpresent Starbucks(yes, I capitalize this for a reason) and sometimes it’s just hard to see past that familiar mermaid. She has powers. Don’t look directly into her eyes lest ye turn to stone… And even if you DO notice the Kolache Factory, it’s still really easy to just cruise on by… because really, what the hell is a Kolache anyway? Heaven in a bun, THAT’s what a Kolache is, my friends. Heaven in a bun. Behind the counter await freshly baked doughy lumps of goodness, wrapped around every sort of filling under the sun. You can get Kolaches stuffed with fruits or veggies, eggs, breakfast meats, pizza toppings, cheese, or many combinations of the above. The spinach ones are my favorites. Oh, and the bacon, egg, and cheese ones. They’re cheap, cheap, cheap… and surprisingly filling. Get a dozen to take home, and when your friends/family ask you, «what the hell is a kolache?» you’ll now be able to turn them on to these little buns of tasty goodness in much the same way as I have done here for you. You’re welcome.
