My son & husband both get their hair cut here! We moved to Long Beach 3 yrs ago and came across this place after trying out a few other places. Rick is the nicest person and his staff is great as well! Hardly a wait & they always make you feel welcome!

Ah, stupid phone. My «edited» review is for today, November 17, 2015. My son’s barber is gone and I should have listened to myself and walked out. Then I tipped the kid without really looking at my son’s ears. He cut him up pretty good until I told him to stop.

Damn! Great cut, friendly atmosphere, reasonable pricing! Mel did a great job, with lots of attention to detail. And quick. And made it back to work with lots of time to spare. Will be returning soon.

We like this place, just a great atmosphere to it. Rick is great, gives solid haircuts, and his other barbers are always busy as well.
This isn’t a «cool» place, but it’s definitely a cool place.

I started coming here a few months ago, before this I was going to a more expensive place in seal beach. This place is more my style, laid back and down to earth. It’s got the «shoot the crap» vibe to it, barbers cracking jokes, or sharing stories. The other customers make it seem like a big family. I went to get cleaned up for my wedding, and they were awesome.

I’ve been going here for many years. Like Danny said… this is a place to go get a good haircut. No styling, no sales pitch, nothing but a good haircut. The mayor of Lakewood gets his haircut here, which is good enough for me. As for the political talk, well, the talk is as tame as you want it. You’re in a barbershop full of adult males, and everyone is entitled to their opinion. it’s not Supercuts.
Rick’s décor is somewhere between western and the Long Beach Aquarium. It won’t win any awards, but you won’t find a better place or price for a quick, clean haircut from a competent barber who’s probably been cutting hair longer than you’ve been alive.

Decent barber shop. Old school mom n pop kind of place. The folks are awfully friendly and give me a clean cut.
If you’re looking for a trendy cut and a wall full of various hair products, this is place is not for you. But if you want a clean cut and a smooth shave, this is your place.

Whenever I drive by this place I always ask myself what was I thinking going to a place called the Hair Corral.
I mean, what self-​respecting barber names their place the Hair Corral? Were they looking to nail the country western demographic of Long Beach?
Regardless, the haircut was so so. The dialogue was heavy on politics (did you hear cnn talk about how people are talking about obama?)
Though I have to put in this positive note on the place. The people that did go there seemed to know the barbers well and seemed to like the chit chat. Maybe this place is like that old t-​shirt you don’t really like, but keep wearing out of convenience and familiarity.
