Great local wine store! Good selection with lots of both inexpensive and fine wines. Tastings seem to be available all the time and the prices are right. Being from California, we often think that west coast wines are underrepresented and overpriced in NY, but this shop had a number of our favorites. Highly recommend!

Love this local wine shop — I don’t live in Lakewood, but I call the store and ask them to pick wine and deliver it to my parents. What Sam selects is great, and they also sell gift certificates if my parents want to select for themselves.
I was also part of a group gift that was given to a bride and groom — the presentation was great, and each bottle had a tag/​label on how long the wine should be held, how special, food pairings, etc. It made the gift great.

I spent 10 years in the Napa/​Sonoma wine biz, and met the owner during that time. Heard he opened a store so placed a long-​distance order. Couldn’t view the merchandise myself, so just gave him a (very modest) budget and told him the styles that I prefer. It was about the same amount that I would have gambled on random bottles from Trader Joe’s. Instead I received an assorted case a few days later that had been handpicked by a pro according to my personal likes. I’ve enjoyed the mix of white, rose, & red wines over the past 6 weeks or so. Every single bottle has been tasty, interesting, and pleasurable.
Everyone needs a wine merchant they can trust. Location is secondary. Yes, I live in CA but I’m VERY happy with my purchase, AND with the decision to trust the owner, Sam, to make the selections for me.
