Terrible service on Friday nights at the bar.

We Love this Place… Jasper, Randy, Roxanne, Cindy, Cat, Mary & Chad made us feel like family from the 1^st visit! We live in Salado and discovered them while on a family reunion at one of the resorts in Lakeway… Very Cold Beer, Great Food, Wonderful Conversation & at a Great Price this little Jewel is a «must»!! & even though I Hate Driving Thru Austin I Am Willing to Do So to Visit our «New» Family at least Twice a Month… We Love You Guys. Not ready to call it a night & in search of a friendly neighborhood bar, my husband & I spotted Jaspers on Unilocal.All the positive feedback is true! As we approached the door we could see Jasper smiling at us, welcoming us to his place. Once inside the owners and regular patrons all made us feel so welcome. This tastefully decorated bar has much to offer. They have pool tables, dart boards, multiple large screen TV’s, trivia, some computer games, couch and table seating, karaōke and poker on designated evenings. We had the opportunity to sample their pizza and it was delicious!!! We are looking forward to going back again & again.

On our way back to Steiner Ranch from a day trip to Dripping Springs and we’re not quite ready to go home yet. We decide to go have 1 drink at Jasper’s. I had read about this little place and was excited to check it out. Side not: My friends (back in Cali) and I had a policy where we’d never say lets go out for «1» drink — it’s a curse to say that because surely we’d end up having more than just one while hanging out at our favorite establishments. While at Jasper’s, «1» drink turned into a few because this place is absolutely, by far, the friendliest establishment my honey and I have been in since moving to Austin. Pretty much as soon as we walked into the joint It was like hanging out with a bunch of friends, who we knew for forever, only — in all actuality — we just met.
They have a free poker night on Sundays. I had never played poker but with some encouragement from the gang at Jasper’s decided I’d take it on. Roxanne, one of the owners of Jasper’s played with us. She is so darn sweet!!! I actually ended up winning quite a few hands in Black Jack and was ready to head to Vegas to start making some money in my new field of «professional gambler» but that’d never work since I’d have to take the entire Jasper’s team with me — don’t think Vegas is to keen on letting people tell you what to do from across the opposite end of the table.
Jasper himself was there. At one point in time, I felt something tickling my leg and thought it was a spider or something. When I went to shoe it away, it turned out to be Jasper just wanting to say «hi.» He has a little sidekick named Gizmo too. These dogs are awesome and it’s obvious that they are so loved by their mom and dad. I’m a total dog person and those 2 helped to make my night.

Don’t judge this book by its cover. It’s located in a bland, suburban strip center in Lakeway. When you walk in, you see a classic style bar and cozy ambience. There is a pool table in the back room with a stocked book shelf. This is one of the best night spots this retirement village has to offer.

Great local spot!
This convenient neighborhood bar has great service and reasonable prices. The owners are terrific people. They have plans to add a kitchen so they can offer quality bar food. Knowing their tastes, This will be a great place to eat AND drink! Hump day is extra fun. Try the group trivia at 7, followed by karaōke starting at 8.

Had a great experience here. The drinks were good and reasonably priced and the bar itself was well maintained and clean. The crowd was mixed between older and younger people but that’s a big part of what made it great. The staff was super friendly, introducing themselves and shaking our hands on arrival. We caught the last set of the live band and enjoyed it very much. Thumbs up.

Nice, friendly place. Poker League on Sunday night (points only). And yes, there really is a big dog named Jasper.

Nice kind of whole in the wall place. Wouldn’t necessarily call it a «dive» bar, but there’s nothing pretentious about it. Friendly bartender, good drinks, pool table, Karaōke on some nights.
Definitely a local hangout; mixed crowd. Super comfortable and inviting! The kind of place you can stop by for one drink and run into someone you know and chat. Like it. :)

What a nice clean place. I have been a few times now and enjoy the staff and the music. It was a little hard to find but glad I did.

Went for karaōke and had a blast! The bar had billiards, trivia, and a nice bartender. The KJ was awesome, had a great song selection and even played cupid shuffle! The owner even came up to introduce himself to us and thanked us for coming in. I will definently be back soon.

Tucked into the corner of a shopping center, at the very back. Easy to miss!

These are the friendliest folks I’ve met around Austin. Great prices. Great people. Cool atmosphere. They have trivia, a pool table, and a jukebox. My favorite drink is a whiskey ginger and they knocked my socks off with theirs. If it wasn’t so far from where I live I’d be a regular. Check this place out if you’re in the area.

I really, really like Jaspers Bar and I really, really love Jasper himself (question: can I keep him? My dog is also part poodle and would love a big brother as she is obsessed with big dogs).
Jasper will most likely greet you when you come in the door (and on the way out). He is a 4 year old, 125 pound Golden Doodle (ie: part Golden Retriever, part Poodle). Not sure if it is legal to have a dog inside a bar but hopefully nobody will report Jasper to the authorities because he makes the bar so much more fun. He likes to drop by your table and say hello every once in a while with the only requirement in return being a pet on the head. He also makes a great vacuum cleaner if you happen to drop some of your food.
The bar itself is smaller, with several high ball tables and several tables located around the bar itself. They have a few beers on tap including UFO’s hef that is served in a tall glass with an orange wedge and is only $ 3 on Sunday. On Sundays you will sometimes find snacks sitting out on one of the tables (this past Sunday they had cheese and fruit). Jasper’s has a large projection screen that shows sports games and a couple of smaller flat screens on the wall so it is a great place to watch sports.
There is an area of small wooden flooring and a stage where they have karaōke on Wednesday nights. This would also be a great stage for a small band or acoustic performer. If you sit around the actual bar you can play trivia on their TV screens around the bar.
Though somehow it is still possible to smoke in Lakeway bars (?) you will find Jaspers smoke free. This would be a great local bar to hang out in if you live in the area and like dogs. It is very clean and nice with very sweet, generous owners.

Love this place! Visiting this area so we were trying to find just a little hangout place. This bar was cozy but could easily fit groups. TVs show all the games, especially considering the projector and large screen. The bartender, Andy, was friendly and had great tips for us visitors. We went twice in this same vacation.

Jasper’s is a great little bar. We always have a good time. Say hello to Andy behind the bar. He makes a great margarita.

Simple and always great prices on drinks when you consider it’s in Lakeway.
So if your looking for a place to have several drinks without breaking the wallet.
Been there a few times and every bartender has been great. I find here the bartenders are proper and nice but once they feel you out and figure out your not a jerk they become really cool to b.s. with.

Heading back from a wedding in Bee Cave’s New Years Day my husband and I were looking for a place to stop in, grab a drink and play NTN trivia. We found a neat neighborhood bar in Lakeway.
We were a bit leery as the previous bar in it’s loacation was a smokey dump, but were pleased to find a smoke free, remodeled bar with a an improved wine list to boot.
Jasper, a 125 pound golden retriever/​poodle mix warmly greeted us at the door. The regulars were super nice, an introduced themselves. I felt like I was hanging out at a friends house, not in a bar full of strangers.
I wouldn’t drive out to Lakeway just for Jasper’s but if I am driving through again I will most definitely stop in.

Nice place. A big improvement over the previous bar. Can’t wait to hear the live music.
