The staff was fantastic, waitress was wonderful but the food was overpriced and under wheming. After reading all the positive reviews we decided to give it a try. I started off with the white bean chilli– it tasted like it was out of the can. If you’re going to do a white bean chilli, it has to be a white sauce chilli not beans in red sauce. Next came the LooLoo burger. $ 15 for canned pineapple on a good homemade patty but with bagged French fries. Just terrible. If you’re going to charge $ 15 for a burger, please make sure it’s good and fresh. You can’t serve bag fries when you make your own chips. To me buying French fries shows how lazy you are. There are several other options in the area, we won’t be back.

My bicycle broke across the street from the Black Rabbit and I needed to pass the time in a warm place while waiting for my wife to come to the rescue. The staff was gracious and accommodating. They found a place to stow my bike that would keep it safe and out of sight. They didn’t seem to mind my lycra-clad body hanging around the bar and they made sure to fill up my coffee cup numerous times. Eventually, I ordered a chicken and avocado sandwich that came on gluten-free toast(nice to know that was an option) along with a whole bunch of house-made potato chips. Quite a good combination and we are sure to come back some evening for a fuller experience.

Ok. I liked the coziness and feel of the place. Very inviting. The menu definitely made it hard to choose. We started off with the duck legs(4), with sweet chili. Very good. I had to go with The Harvest. It sounded so interesting. Sweet potatoes, roasted garlic R, Brussel sprouts, cheddar cheese. It needed something to bring out the flavors. Maybe nutmeg? Something. For dinner fish and chips of course.(17.95) but a large portion. Delicious, period. We ordered the ghost burger. Onions rings, BBQ sauce, ghost pepper cheese, burger on a brioche bun.(13.95). Very good. Perfectly cooked. Just a nice hear. Nothing overpowering. Real nice heat. We also got the Ham, cabbage, apple panini on marble rye. Apple pearled well with the ham.(10.95) came with a side, or up charge for salad, which was a good size. Over all good food. The service however was scattered. Our waitress was over worked. Maybe they were short staffed? Maybe they didn’t expect this kind of crowd on the day after Thanksgiving? But overall it was good.

Was utterly worn out one week night recently, so our family had dinner here. It wasn’t too crowded, so we got a nice booth. Drinks were brought quickly — kids really love the Shirley Temples with fancy straws. We shared calamari and crab hush puppies as apps, both of which had been deep fried nearly to death… not tender at all. Kids had burgers, husband had shrimp tortellini and I had salmon. Kids were happy, husband was happy… me, not so much. I ordered salmon cooked medium… this was well done. Well, well done. And so was the asparagus. The quinoa rice needed seasoning. I ate it anyway, due to starvation, but was slightly sad. Then I had another glass of Pinot Noir and got over myself. Kids had a scoop of ice cream for dessert… one kid ordered the blood orange sorbet, but did not like it at all… and it was a really bitter, I have to say. So we replaced the offending sorbet with Vanilla, which was a better choice and all was fine. Service was terrific, the bill was pretty decent sized… I let it go… sometimes it is just the smart thing to do.

Stopped on a foliage drive. Nachos and service good. Southwest chicken panini terrible. I expected real roast chicken, not deli meat. Disappointing!

This is a great place in Lakeville for dinner. It is a small restaurant that gets busy because clearly people know it is a good place to go. We enjoyed drinks at the bar while we waited for a table to open and they had a great beer and wine list available. When we were seated, the service was excellent and the menu as well as the specials all sounded good. There is a great variety on a small menu and the food is really quite good. Great place!

It was a very quite and nice Resturant. I went with my husband to dinner and wanted to try something new so I went to Unilocal and found it. My husband is a burger guy so they had like 5 – 6 to choose from. I choose the pesto chicken pizza. The high tables I don’t recommend they are very small we choose to sit at the bar instead. The bartender who turned out to be the owner was very pleasant and right on top of things. I definitely would go back for a relaxing dinner with my husband. I liked my pizza it was made very well and didn’t look or taste commercial. The pizza crust looked homemade not from a shell. My husband said his burger was phenomenal.

I gave TBR a 2 star review around a year ago. However, I have been here three times over the past month and I want to add an addendum to my first review. The Nachos with chilly, although a bit lacking in salt(a common theme here it seems) are incredibly good. It comes on a large plate piled high with multicolored chips and layers of chili and cheese and onions. I worked in a restaurant one summer and discovered that anyone can make fantastic Nachos as long as they are willing to put in the effort to layer the ingredients appropriately and in the correct proportions and then bake it until all the cheese is melted. It takes time to do this well, and I can tell that the person making my nachos was taking their time to do it right. Even better than the nachos was the Posh Spice burger. It has an onion ring, pepper-cheese, and bbq ranch sauce. It is, without a doubt, the best burger I have had in Litchfield county. I pride myself in making amazing burgers and consider myself to be a great judge of their quality. A fantastic burger can be small, or large, and it can have american cheese or fancy brie. However, the one thing that all fantastic burgers have is a good bun and appropriate bun-to-burger ratio. They got everything right with the Posh Spice burger. I also feel the need to compliment the two pickle slices and onion slice hey include with each burger. The onion as been appropriately thick and the pickles are VERY good. I chose not to give them 5 stars for a couple reasons. One is based on the less-than-ok culinary experiences i received here last year. Second, although the french fries are adequate in terms of taste and texture, there are not enough of them. Three times I have been under-fryed here. Based on the size of the burger and the size of the plate, they should be serving twice as many french fries as they do. A couple more things, just to be thorough. In regards to the wings, I made the unwise decision to choose General Tsao’s sauce on them. I would not recommend this flavor. However, under the sauce I was able to discern a really well cooked chicken wing. It was hot and crispy and meaty and caramelized. If any of the other sauces taste good, then I can imagine the wings would be worth getting. The staff here is always very nice and food comes out quick. However, they did forget my nacho order one time.

Stopped by The Black Rabbit for a bite to eat with my wife after the ski jump contest. It was the second time we were there; once in the summer and again the other day. On each occasion we had a wonderful lunch. Their burgers are outstanding! as are their Bloody Mary’s. I really like this place. It’s quickly becoming a favorite of mine in the Northwest Corner.

Stopped by on my way through town because I wanted to watch Thursday Night Football. Great crowd of what seemed to be locals. They turned the game on with sound & seemed to stay open later than posted hours. Great nachos. Nice bartender.

This was a top notch meal in this area. The service was attentive without being too much. The food was freshly prepared and nice sized portions. Prices were reasonable. I had the veggie burger which was moist and full of flavor. It was made with black beans, corn, and red peppers. I only ate half the whole grain bun because it was too much food. I was able to substitute vegetables for the French fries. My husband had the lobster roll with tasty sweet potato fries. We sat outside, and it was delightful. The dessert options were limited, but we didn’t need it anyway.

I very much enjoy the apple, brie and caramelized onions panini, it is delicious! Although friends have disagreed saying their burger was over cooked and the salad was bland. Last time I stopped in my guest had the special which was a lamb burger and loved it. The home made chips are very good and the aioli that comes with them is suburb. Not a great beer selection but for the area is very packed on weekend.

A wide variety of great local beers on tap. Many vegetarian options, which is actually quite rare in Lakeville. Definitely get the fried brussel sprouts — generous portion and perfectly salty. I will have to come back and try the kale salad.

As of writing this review, there are a bunch of filtered reviews, and a couple reviews by users who are basically unconnected to anybody. Perhaps this is sabotage, or anti-sabotage. If my theory is even somewhat correct, it’s disappointing at how slapdash their collective efforts were. Anyway! Northwest Connecticut is not a professional football mecca. There are fans of the New York teams, and fans of the Patriots. But from the little i can tell, people mostly watch at home. Or not at all. But they’re not going to their local sports bar, which doesn’t really seem to exist. Instead, I got to watch Red Zone Channel, because it was my best option. The food was basically bar food. A little overpriced for what it was, but acceptable. I appreciated the fact that they had local bourbon, which was nice. The vibe was lacking I suppose, though it did have the requisite«guy on his laptop, obsessively checking fantasy scores» that seems to exist at a lot of places, even in the time of smart phones.
