I have to say a humble thank you to Linda who helped me in ordering a flower arrangement today for my Mother in law’s upcoming birthday. She was recently diagnosed with Lou Guerigs disease as well. I originally called(Flower cart of Lakeland), as I always check Unilocal to find the cream of the crop in businesses, and they had the highest rating~ so I gave the florist a call, explained the situation and told her money wasn’t an issue that I wanted a gorgeous arrangement for someone very special who might not have another birthday after this one. I requested a text of the arrangement when thee flowers were arranged so I could make sure they looked spectacular and the florist there at FLOWERCARTOFLAKELAND said FLATLY they did not text their customers pictures of their flower arrangements period. I was shocked and requested she make an exception since the situation of my Mother in law with a terminal disease was not a good one, and also I was willing to spend 200.00 + on an arrangement. She still said there were NOEXCEPTIONSPERIOD… I feel rules are meant to be bent from time to time, and the florist their just has no compassion, didn’t care about her customers or the recipients and frankly should not be dealing with people with her uncaring, inconsiderate, and uncompassionate attitude. Disheartened, after talking to her, I called Petals of Lakeland where I spoke with Linda who was just quite the opposite, with such a caring and kind disposition. She went out of her way to assure me they would do a spectacular arrangement for my Mother in law, and that texting me was not an issue, and she even said she would call me first then text me a picture so I could see if I would like to add more flowers to it before thy were delivered. I want to add the address these flowers are going to is also out of their area and Linda gladly offered to do them for me and also knocked off half the delivery fee to boot! I am so very thankful, and grateful their are still a few wonderful people, and businesses that take the time out of their day to try their best to make someone else happy. Kindness and compassion goes a very long way in my books, and this florist~ LINDA has more than earned my business. A special thank you again Linda, for caring so much about others. Warmly, Caroline

Occasionally I like to surprise my Mom in Florida(I’m in Colorado) and often I call Petals. They are in the neighborhood where I used to live, Dixieland. They are thorough on the phone, creative and prompt. Her most recent bouquet, for her birthday, was beautiful. Thank you!

Ordered Valentine’s Day flowers to be delivered to my wife. Once I saw the arrangement after the delivery, I was crushed, they were not what I ordered. I called the shop and after explaining the situation, the employee kept claiming that she couldn’t hear me(though I heard her without problem) and claimed that no mistake was made nor they would do much to correct the problem. She wasn’t even nice even though I held a friendly tone throughout the conversation. I purposely ordered these in person to get what I wanted, I’m so disappointed. Will never use them again because they do not follow«the customer is always right» philosophy.

I’ve ordered several arrangements from Petals. Their designers are super creative and I always get something better than I expect at a reasonable price. I am always happiest by choosing the colors or flowers I want for the occasion and asking for a designers choice arrangement rather than choosing an arrangement off of a website. Besides, it’s really difficult get the scale of the size of an arrangement from a photo. I have always been happy with what I have received and given to others from Petals.

Nice little flower shop in a historical building in downtown Dixieland. I’m giving a very generous rating considering I drove 30 minutes to this shop and waited more than 20 minutes with no one helping me and driving 30 minutes home to order flowers by phone. I will hope to believe that the down economy requires the florist to also make deliveries and leave her store unattended midday without a sign on the counter(and door unlocked). I will also hope the man in the back who ignored my shouts is deaf. The flowers throughout the store evidence someone who is very talented with arranging, Prices are good for real and silk flowers, starting at $ 20. Quite a few neat vase options and seasonal décor. Woman was very friendly and helpful by phone. Parking is a bit of a pain, behind the store, then down a hill and walk to front of building that faces the main drag. If being there in person is important, I suggest you call first and make sure someone will be there for you.
