I was very satisfied with my meal at Paladar Boricua. The small restaurant serves a variety of authentic Puerto Rican food. I am a sucker for a good mofongo so I tried the Mofongo with Carne Frita(Pork Chuncks). The dish was delicous. The mofongo had a nice light garlic flavor and the carne frita was tender with a little bit of crispiness on the outside. This is the quality of food you would expect if you were in Puerto Rico.

Best mofongo I’ve had outside of Puerto Rico. There was a lot of depth of flavor in this dish as well as the complimentary soup. It’s a hole in the wall joint that was a little hard to find but I’m glad I did. The service was fast and friendly, the restaurant was clean, the prices are great and again, excellent food! Can’t wait to go back and try other dishes.

Had the Wednesday Special which is 2 Chuletas fritas(fired pork chops) with 2 sides. I had white rice and beans. Came with sweet plantains. I also tried the aranitas. Service was great. Server was very friendly. Place was extremely clean. Price was just right. Amount of food for the price was on point. The food was great. Our server spoke very little English, however I and a coworker were the resident Spanish speakers to help with the ordering. Will have to work my way thru their menu.

As close to the island as you can get! Excellent and friendly service! I placed an order for pick up today, and when I got there the server asked me to have a seat because they needed a few more minutes. She then brought over a Cream of Plantain soup while I waited. It was delicious!!! Everything else we ordered had great flavor too. I will definitely be back!

A great new Puerto Rican restaurant has been open about 2 weeks on Robin Rd off Cleveland Hts. Closed Mondays. «Boricua» is the word for«Puerto Rican living in the United States». «Paladar» is a Cuban term for«family run business». It’s homemade food, Puerto Rican style. The friendly people are anxious to share their cuisine to Lakeland. Great flan vanilla, creamy and delicious to the last bite($ 2). Nice crème de plantano soup — unique and yummy. I ordered a $ 13 dish, Churasco Carbonara y Queso Relleno. It’s a stuffed fried plaintain bowl filled with skirt steak drenched in cheese sitting in a salad bed. A little passion fruit dressing is served on the side. It was great(though the plaintain nest was too salty). Loved the rose garnish made from tomato skin. Second visit I ordered a medianoche but they didn’t have the egg bread nor did they press it. It was still very tasty and the Cuban bread was soft. Big sandwich for $ 5. The Amarillo(same as maduros in Cuba) is a sweet plaintain. I got 4 pieces for $ 2. It was perfect but came 15 minutes AFTER the sandwich was finished. The menu is full of sandwiches, soups, hot meals, appetizers. They also have a coconut pudding dessert. Their FB page has the full menu and many photos. Friendly people, good food, kinks on service/timing and having all ingredients on the menu still to be worked out. Go in there planning to be on Puerto Rican Slow Time and you won’t be disappointed in the palate.
