I had the Big Texas which consists of pulled pork and a sausage link and two sides. I got Mac and Cheese as well as collard greens. The food had the right taste and consistency and I would definitely recommend this place.

Ok I like their redneck double up nachos with brisket. My wife had the chicken with okra side. I had the french fry nachos all the way with brisket and jalapenos. You order as you enter then sit at a table and waitress brings food to you. The five sauces on table are really good and unique. Reasonable prices and daily specials. All and all it was good food.

I usually get the pork sandwich for lunch. Really good and reasonably priced. Also really like the service. The inside in interesting looking.

We went to Bubbaques because my husband wanted BBQ on his birthday and most BBQ places are closed on Sunday. The only reason I am giving 2 stars instead of 1 is because the staff was so nice. Our food was dried out, bordering on burnt, and the cheese on my nachos tasted fake. It was pretty gross.

Felt like being at a bonfire in the woods, or at a mudfest with my friends! Cool redneck décor and the food was AMAZING. The process aren’t bad because the portions are more then enough. Staff were very sweet and helpful since it was our first time there! Another one of Lakeland’s best kept BBQ secrets I would say!

I’ve been here a hand full of time and the food is really good. However, took a few friends from work and were treated with disrespect and judgmental tones because there was an interracial couple with us. Highly embarrassed and will never return.

Visited with an interracial couple, and we were pretty much ran out. What year is this? Jimbo’s was much better.

Service here is lacking. Walked in the door, no greeting. GIrl takes the order and is gone from the counter again. Waitress who served never refilled the drinks. No one out on the floor. there were only three booths being used. the food was ok but definitely not the best that I’ve had and it didn’t agree with me either. Not planning to return here again.

BubbaQue’s is definitely a five star restaurant! Everything is great here! It’s a very laid back and relaxed place, and a fun place just to go and eat! I love the décor here, and the staff is friendly! The food came out fast, and it was great! You have to get the redneck nachos and fried okra! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone!

Thank you BubbaQue’s! Our staff loved, loved, loved our catered lunch! You did a bang up job getting it all prepared with professionalism, acuracy, and it was delish! It looked like enough food to feed 40 people, not the 15 we paid for! I was the hero today and you made me look good! Thanks again!

Great BBQ and a really fun atmosphere. Get the redneck nachos!!! I eat them as a meal. :) My husband tries something new every time. He’s had the pulled pork sandwhich, tenders, and some sort of chicken sandwhich, he hasn’t said a bad thing about any of them other than ‘chicken fingers are hard to mess up.’ The okra is perfectly cooked, I always steal a few from his plate. It’s great for take out and dine in, the service is great considering you order your food when you walk in at the counter, then by the time you pick your table your drinks are being brought over to you. The servers are very attentive to your drinks, considering that’s probably the only way they are going to get a tip. I have zero complaints about this place.

Went here for some BBQ while in Florida. The brisket was off the chain. They had about 6 differnet sauces to try. Towards the end of my meal, I started mixing some of the sauces together and came up with some even better flavors for my nice and tender brisket… Bubbaque gets thumbs up…

Ate here while going thru Crossland, FL. Both of us had the pulled pork sandwich on toasted Texas Toast. Loved the pork and my favorite sauce was called Pine Tar. Clean restaurant; really good barbeque. Formerly was called Smokey’s.

We live near Detroit and we saw this Lakeland Groupon coupon before our trip to visit my parents. It was a good deal and we figured it was hard to go wrong with my folks and BBQ food. I was right! The strip this restaurant is in leaves a little to be desired, but I would describe BubbaQue’s like this: Qdoba is to Don Pablos as BubbaQue’s is to Famous Daves. It’s not down-home cooking or anything, but the sauces are good, the food is solid for the price, and the décor is novel. The waitstaff was really nice and we had a good time. My folks found a new BBQ place near them, which was a bonus. We’ll be heading back next time we’re in Florida.

Order at the front counter, have a seat, and your food is quickly brought to you. They work really hard at looking as hillbillyesque as possible. A little overdone for my tastes(hillbilly spelling makes it hard to decipher the menu). Service earns them the 4th star. I always measure a BBQ joint by the pork sandwich. Theirs is pulled & chunky(not shredded) properly cooked – juicy and flavorful. They have 7 sauce«potions» on each table and you will have to taste and stew over their favorites. I liked Rump Roaster(spicy) and Mississippi Mud(mild molasses based), and essentially drowned my sandwich. They said Tractor Grease is their most popular and mild sauce(what they put with their«to go» orders). Pine Tar is good despite the name and they have a nice mustard based sauce. Like Sonny’s, they put it on a very buttered and soft Texas Toast. No dill pickle, a flagrant BBQ violation! Otherwise, the BBQ is 5-star. They had a $ 5 deal for sandwich and fries. I voted for $ 6.00 and I pick my own side. I chose mac ‘n cheese once. Pretty«grocery store» and dry. I chose corn a second visit – good, but probably nuked – as the full-length cob was too hot to handle forever. Pepsi products(boo. hiss) The trash can is a raised toilet seat rim and lid over a trash barrel. I’m thinkin’ because you order at the counter and throw away your own trash, you save on tip. A sandwich, one side and a drink is under $ 7. They do have platters with two sides. I’ll be back for the blackberry pecan crusted cobbler sometime. Fairly large variety menu. Fast service. Place is often empty. Watch for beggars out front. Not so good section of town. Lousy parking lot and not particularly safe area at night, between a gun store and a gas station – maybe part of the ambiance of Polk County? But if you’re needing a fast fix, this place does do the trick.
