Mr Tux Formal Wear

Great selection and very helpful at getting our groomsmen fitted well. Also much cheaper than everywhere else we looked. Highly recommend.

I do not usually write a bad review, but this situation was so upsetting, that I hope to spare anyone else the troubles we had.
My husband and I went to Mr. Tux Formalwear in Lake Zurich in January 2015, to get measured and and rent a tux for our daughters wedding, which was in May 2015. Being long term residents of Lake Zurich, we had frequented the formal wear shop on multiple occasions for our son’s tuxedoes when they attended their proms. In good faith, we left Mr. Tux in January, assuming that all would go well with his tux for our daughter’s wedding. Two nights before our daughter’s wedding, my husband went to pick up his tuxedo. Time was very precious at that point and we were filled with tremendous excitement and anticipation of our daughter’s pending wedding. When my husband was shown the tuxedo they had for him, it was in terrible condition. The fabric was rough, bumpy and the lapels had seen their day. When my husband expressed his dissatisfaction, he was told that they did not have another one in his size. When my husband continued to express his concerns and reminded them that this was for his one and only daughter’s wedding, they then decided to show him a different style from what he had originally ordered. My husband agreed to take it only to show our daughter and get her opinion. The tux he came home with was totally unacceptable. It was outdated and the fabric was shiny from having been cleaned multiple times over years of wear. The next morning upon the opening of Mr. Tux, my husband took the tuxedo back and told them it was not at all what he had ordered and had to run out night before and find a completely different tux in the 11^th hour before his daughter’s wedding. Then, to our total shock, they said, «well too bad, you do not get a refund, because you took the tux out of our store». The tux was in our possession for less then 15 hours, never worn and it cost us $ 200.00, because Mr Tux did not have the decency to phone us and let us know that they were experiencing an inventory problem and in view of the importance of the occasion, perhaps we should come in and see what they could do. If you care about quality customer service, if you envision yourself looking a certain way for your special occasion, then STAY AWAY from MR Tux Formalwear in Lake Zurich ! More importantly, if you want to do business with a someone that has a conscious and cares about what they put their customers in, then for sure, stay away from Mr Tux, Lake Zurich !

Friendly staff and over all great experience. They took there time to measure and I didn’t feel rushed.

We got here 40 min early they open. But the women name Wendy she’s awesome. She took our tuxedos right away and she was really nice and professional. This place is comfy and smells phenomenal and fruity.

This place is horrid. I have never in my life dealt with such an inept woman before. I took my son here to try on a tux for prom and a woman, named Wendy «assisted» me. She acted like she was an expert at everything formal. Please, I have frequented Harrods and Bergdorfs and this is not even close. A sad little place like Men’s Warehouse has more class than this dinky, musty store. The owner is BEYOND rude. I will NEVER step foot in this pedestrian type «tux» shop again. Wendy and the owner will be sure to steer you away. The smell of the place. Just simply revolting.

Came back to the auto show for the 2^nd year in a row and once again Wendy at Mr Tux made sure everything was perfect. Showed up from California 24 hours in advance and zipped right in for measurements. Picked up the tux the very next day. Amazing service and great prices. Customer for life!

I was just recently there to get fitted for my wedding. We walked in there with somewhat of a plan of attack, but me being the one wearing the tux I had little to no idea what I really wanted. The staff was extremely friendly, knowledgeable and helpful in getting us all set up for the big day. We were there over two hours and I probably tried on 6 – 8 different combinations. Not only was the staff patient, but they encouraged it. Like most grooms, it was not on my list of most fun things to do ever, but Mr. tux made the experience enjoyable and exciting for not only me, but my future bride. I recommend Mr. tux for anyone.

Went in this past weekend to get fitted for a tux for my wedding. I did research online and went to another place in Schaumburg first. I didn’t find anything there I liked and the selection was poor. Walking into Mr. Tux was a breath of fresh air. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. I found a tux I liked right away and they got me in and out quickly. Wendy was very attentive as was the rest of their staff. Good value, I’m glad I found this place.

I bought my dress at volle’s so it made sense for us to choose Mr. Tux for the guy’s tuxes because it is located in the same parking lot. I am very happy that we went with Mr. Tux for all of the guys outfits because they turned out great. My husband actually wanted to be in charge of picking out all of the guy’s tuxes, ties, vests, etc., which made me a little nervous but the lady that works there, Wendy, made sure to direct him towards great choices. There were no problems at all with any of the tuxes. I even had one out of town usher and he just had to fill out a card with his measurements and mail it in. My grandpa had lost a lot of weight from the time he got measured and the wedding, and Mr. Tux had no problem changing the size. When the guys picked up their tuxes, a few of them needed small alterations and they were taken care of immediately. No one was there more than 30 mins. Overall, I would definitely recommend Mr. Tux Formal Wear!
