First time here, a little worried because of some bad reviews. Almost went somewhere else. So glad we didn’t, service was great, calamari and bruschetta were top notch. Giambotta was delicious and huge. Chicken Parmesan perfect, Chilean sea bass done just right. Drinks were great. Will definetly be back.

I love to order pepper and egg sandwich to go but the service is awful! The person taking my order always estimates the order to take 30 minutes to prepare. But after 30 minutes when I arrive to pick up my order I see the cook just start my order. It’s like my order was forgotten, and so I wait again. While I wait no one apologies for the mistake. The ladies just sit by the tip bowl and play on their phones. I love the sandwich but this keeps happening. I’m going else where from now on.

Needed a pizza tonight, and discovered that they do not offer the deep dish Di Piero’s special anymore — if you call for one, you’ll get the thin crust. Nothing like the deep dish. We have nothing to look forward to now…

We were there tonight, and found the food pathetic. We asked for olive oil, be he served us some smelling oil, no where next to virgin olive oil. It actually smelled like sunflower oil. Pizza was expensive for just nothing. One can go for any other fin dining restaurant like Biaggis or even CPK for a lesse price as this one. It was namesake Italian with no flavor or Italian but bad flavor of Mexican.

Tried ordering saturday morning for delivery. Im fairly certain that the guy who attempted to take my order had an iq lower than the number of toppings on the dipiero special. I asked for delivery, i gave him a credit card number, asked for the thin crust dipiero special. After 10 minutes trying to convey this wealth of information to him, he repeated my order. You wanna the deep dish special? How you like to pay? Cash or credit? Huh? I just gave you a credit card number that you repeated back to me! Oh, I didnt write it down. Dipieros, your food is awesome, but please hire more intelligent people, I almost rather have the bitchy girl that used to take phone orders. At least her attitude didnt affect taking a simple phone order.

First, check out how often they fail their health inspections right here: Outside of the basic hygienic repeated failures, they offer«gluten free» at a premium. One problem, they repeatedly send normal pizzas thinking people with Celiac disease wont notice or gluten free is a fad… When the owner of this restaurant(and others in downtown Lake Zurich) was directly confronted, he refused to speak or address the fact they are abusing people with a serious disease and failing to meet public health standards. All Lake County Health Reports are made available to the public — its a great service and people need to think twice about coming here. ” Effective measures intended to minimize the presence of rodents and flies, roaches, and other insects on the premises shall be utilized” -

This place used to be a great place for a pizza. It still may be, but you’ll never know because the careless staff will just mess up your order. Inconsistent food and a terrible staff make this place one to forget.

Is this place a joke? I called to place an order for delivery, and some girl who sounded 12 answered the phone, «Hello?» I asked her if I could place an order for delivery, and she replies, «I guess.» Warning bell #1. I then place my order. First item ordered was the appetizer. She asks me, «Is that it?» No, I’d certainly hope not. Next, entrée #1. «Is that it?» No. Entrée #2. «Is that it?» FFS, girl, are you reading off a cue card or what? I finish the order, she tells me, «It’ll probably be there in an hour.» Probably? Warning bell #2. I ask her for the total, and she says, «I don’t know.»(Bell #3). I ask her, «How am I supposed to know how much cash to have if I don’t know the total?» She replies, «I don’t know, can I call you back?»(Bell #4) «Um, ok,» I reply. 10 minutes go by, no call back.(Bell #5) I call them for the total, and the girl can’t find my order. At this point, my tolerance for bells is long-since-passed, and I have a «fug’it» moment and cancel the order. What a joke. The only reason places like this stay in business is because they’re one of the only places around in their area. Put up a restaurant next to them that can actually run a hospitable business, and this place would be gone in short order. …Let me get right on that!

We don’t live far from DiPiero’s and visit it several times a year. The best way I could describe it is that t’s nice enough. The food is good, not great. The wine list is relatively limited but reasonable. The service is average, never great, but rarely poor. I will say that every time we order the pizza and eat it at home we are really happy with it. We want nothing more than a place to go in downtown LZ that can help draw people, and more options. Unfortunately this isn’t it. With all of that being said we will be back because it’s so close.

Food was outstanding but our waitress lacked niceties and seemed inexperienced but she was never rude. There were 10 of us and what the waitress could not handle, the bus people did. Sauces were excellent and the place had a cozy feel to it. Looking forward to my next visit.

First things first. Eat in. Its small but worth the wait. Anything delivered does not count as review worthy in my book. Some of THEBEST Pizza in the NW burbs. Thin crust is crispy with an excellent sauce cheese. My kids request this place constantly. The meals are excellents as well. Great homemade bread. Large menu of some real dishes you cant find anywhere else.

Best pizza around. Always consistently great. The sandwiches are also authentic tasting. Fresh ingredients and friendly people. There are 3 restaurants owned by these guys. Redds delicious hotdogs, dipieros restaurant(sit down dinner), and the pizzeria/Italian sandwiches. We ate dinner at the restaurant Friday night. The grouper was awesome.

Went for the first time and this place is very cozy. Seemed like there were a ton of regulars. Probably going to join those ranks as well. Service was very good, water always filled at all times and a very good pace to things. Waiters name was Ceaser who was rock solid. House wine was excellent. Food was very good. I got the chicken Marsala and my lady friend got the chicken parm. Both were excellent. Portion on mine was huge. The only reason I’m knocking it down one star is because of the calamari. Wasn’t to my liking, but still good. Overall an excellent place to eat.

Great place for an in and out. This property is the prep kitchen for the restaurant around the corner. Come here for a good, fair prices meal, made by guys that are jamming in the kitchen.

It’s Me, Not You A Place That Locals Frequently Visit, Just Not Me… Maybe it’s me but I wasn’t impressed. I was so hoping that this was going to be a great place that no one is really aware of and that we could call it our own. Well, it’s not going to happen. I felt that I was let down once I had my meal. I ordered the veal parmesan and when it arrived to the table it was two small pieces of meat. I thought to myself, well this isn’t the typical size that other places that I order veal from give. Then I cut into it, well I can usually cut into a piece of veal with a fork. I could even do that, I needed a knife. I ate a piece and it had a different taste to it that made me think it wasn’t fresh. I ended up eating half of what they gave and it was more than enough for me. The staff was friendly and you can tell that a lot of regulars come in here. The place has a bar and on the side are the tables(about 11) for dinning. It is very quaint.

Having been a former Chef, and worked at Italian places such as Gionnotti, Rosebud, Tuscany and at The Palmer House Hilton, I feel I’m a fair judge of good food — especially Italian. Well, Dipiero’s in Lake Zurich is worth the trip! The food is family cooked homemade, from scratch and of the highest quality. They take no shortcuts here. My Eggplant Parmigiana was the best I’ve had. Wine selections are limited somewhat, but thoughtfully selected. The Domodimonti IL Messia The Violin Red blend from Le Marche was a gem, and at the price a great wine value. My next date will be at Dipiero’s when seeking a place in the Northwest suburbs.

Last night we went to Dipiero’s in Lake Zurich with our good friends. I’m an author of cookbooks so I am always comparing Italian food when I try a new place. Although the place is small and cozy my best advice is on a Saturday night get there early, like when they open. The food was AWESOME! I had eggplant parmigiana which is my favorite and Italians make this dish a bit different each time, depending on what part of Italy your family originated. The sauce was very good, you can taste that is was homemade, yes there is a big difference! I highly recommend this restaurant. We also got to meet the owner and his son, who were so very nice! Great family business and wonderful atmosphere!

This is for the pizzeria, not the ristorante(which I think a few fellow Unilocalers have reviewed here) I usually score just the food and mention the service. In the case of this review, the service kept me from getting the food. Choices abound for the thin-crust cheese pizza we prefer, so this is ‘goodbye’.
