It’s that time again for our yearly Backflow testing. Yay, I know clean water is important, but still just another thing you need to do as a homeowner. So I called American Backflow, at my neighbors recommendation and spoke with Sandy. She informed me of the cost, that it would take about 15 mins and also that AB would file the inspection report with the village. Perfect! Sandy was able to set up an appointment for the following week, when they would be in our area, with a time window of 8 to 2.(That’s a large window, but whatever) As long as I can have it done before the deadline,(so my water isn’t shut off) which would be a couple days after the test date. So the day comes. And I wait, and wait, and wait. Well I start to doubt myself with the day and time that I marked on the calendar, maybe I had the wrong day? So I call American Backflow and Sandy answers the phone. She sounds busy(like I’m bothering her) when she answers. I ask her to please verify that someone is coming out to preform our testing today or did I have the day wrong. Sandy assures me someone will be here before 3:30. Okay. Hmmm… Well I wait, and wait. And no one ever showed up. Great! How wonderful is that? So by this time(4:30) I try to call AB to say hey what gives, but they were closed. I never did get any type of explanation or call from American Backflow. Needless to say I now have two days to get this test done. I was a little panicked by the thought of my water being turned off by the village. So I called another company. They came right out tested our devices, filed the report with the village and charged me less money! I’m so happy American Backflow never showed up, because now I’ve found a great business that I will definitely call again next year. Oh and I will be sure to let all my neighbors know about the other company! They truly were awesome!
