I found Mr. Shrimp on the Groupon app, and decided to give it a try. First of all, I’d like to point out that I have no problem with the kind of «hole-in-the-wall» place this is. I just care about the food, especially since I love shrimp. My dad and I both ordered a plate of steamed shrimp with Cajun seasoning, over a bed of rice. For our sides, we tried the coleslaw, pico de gallo, and macaroni salad. I was not a fan of the Cajun seasoning, which was pretty disappointing considering the shrimp was the star of the dish. I mean, this place is called Mr. Shrimp. The coleslaw was not good either — it was very soupy. The same goes for the pico de gallo(which was severely lacking seasoning). The rice was also bland. I didn’t care for any part of my meal. Perhaps their fried menu items taste better. After all: it’s easier to mess up healthier forms of food(liked steamed shrimp and coleslaw) versus unhealthier forms of food(like fried shrimp and french fries). Considering how disappointing the food was, and how un-friendly the employees were, I won’t be returning to Mr. Shrimp. It was worth a shot.

Hmmmmm, where to begin, the fried oysters brought the score way down, it was extremely fishy, and over cooked, crab salad was good, and the pound of steamed shrimp was amazing, french fries ok(you really can’t screw them up)… but doubtful I will go back.

This is one of those places where they act like they do not have water on tap so forced to buy the warm bottle water. They said they are out of tacos but had all the ingredients in plan view of the customers. I have to say the seafood freezer looked clean. As far as the food is conserned we had the shrimp steamed and the fried oyster dinner. The oysters were on the fishy side. In fact I’m a little concerned I might get sick tonight. The shrimp was good cooked just right and nicely flavored. Seafood salad was good as well.

My Wife had lunch here today, and the seafood was cooked perfectly. even the conch was tender. The only suggestion is not everyone likes Cajun spices on their French Fries, other than that the food was delicious. Try the Oysters too

We bought an awesome Groupon for Mr. Shrimp, which served 4, and absolutely loved each meal! Although small and simple, the atmosphere was nice. Plus, it was surprisingly clean. We ordered our food to go – the staff was very patient with our questions. We had the steamed shrimp dinner, steamed scallop dinner, fried conch dinner, and shrimp garden salad. For sides we had the crab salad, pasta salad, and macaroni salad and everything was delicious. All the food was fresh and nicely presented. We ordered our meals with mild seasoning, but it still had quite a kick, so if you’re sensitive to spice you might want to specify your tolerance level. The restaurant was very busy, yet the food didn’t take too long. It appeared that the staff had an efficient system down. And despite the crowd, the staff remained very helpful and friendly. Even without a Groupon, the prices are very reasonable, especially for how fresh and tasty everything is. Would definitely recommend!!!

Good stuff! Go for the shrimp and also recommend as 1 of your sides the crab salad. Could use some updating at the store. Not great looking at large industrial size cans of food stacked on metal shelving. Maybe the location and the«dinky» store keep costs down. Food is worth going. Try the take out so you can enjoy it in a little nicer atmosphere.

I tried Mr. Shrimp today for lunch today for the first time. I got a fried snapper dinner which came with choice of 2 sides. I got fries and hush puppies. The fried snapper was decent and hush puppies were good. Fries were mediocre, they should spice them up a bit or something. Menu is somewhat limited and definitely could use some expansion. Not a bad option if you’re in the area craving fried seafood.

Simple, fresh, and GOOD! This carry out lives up to its name. I had fried shrimp that was nicely seasoned and fried just right. The pasta salad was fresh and hush puppies an added bonus. Worth the price!

Mr. Shrimp is excellent, as long as your expectations are in-line with their offering. The trick is that you have to be comfortable ordering seafood from a dirty, hole-in-the-wall casual-dine restaurant where you may also have issues with the employees in placing your order. I’ve had some of my best meals in similar settings in NY City and these issues do not bother me. If these are issues for you, definitely *avoid* Mr. Shrimp. If you’re able to get past the issues above, they offer fresh shrimp, crab, crawfish and vegetables they boil and dust with an Old-Bay style seasoning upon ordering. I really enjoy it, I’ve never once had a bad meal. The prices can’t be beat and you can order just want you want, by weight. For example, I often order a half pound of shrimp and pound of crab legs which is enough for two. Although they have King Crab and Lobster on the menu, they’ve never once stocked these options despite many requests. Important Tip: Make sure to request they season your food *lightly* unless you enjoy heavily seasoned seafood that may be too spicy and overbearing. They are consistently heavy handed with seasoning. They’re happy to give you a side and you can add more if their«light» seasoning is not strong enough. Service is fairly quick as well as parking in this plaza(Southwest corner of 10th& Congress).

There several warning signs here. 1) Dirty tables, dirty floor(thus, dirty restaurant) 2) They got my order wrong(fried shrimp instead of steamed) 3) Fish was over-breaded and way over-cooked. Finally, if that fish was SNAPPER, I’m Donald Trump! It was probably catfish, which was also on the menu. It was also NOT fresh and did not taste good at all. The fried shrimp were pretty good. I didn’t like the«Cajun seasoning» on the steamed shrimp. The«fresh» steamed vegetables were obviously out of a bag and were boiled not steamed. I didn’t eat those or the fish.

seafood done right with no pretensions and a good prices. This is a very casual place. Great for takeout. I used a Groupon and saved some money. I’ll be back with or without a Groupon. I had steamed and shelled shrimp with a variety of different sauces. I also ordered the fried scallops which were done perfectly with a mild Cajun breading. You can order your food mild or hot. friendly staff was good smiles. That matters.

I used to eat at Mr. Shrimp in Belle glade and had to drive there from west palm beach. I’m so glad they have opened on congress in lake worth. This is by far the cleanest and freshest seafood I have ever had. The food is cooked and seasoned to perfection. The customer service is outstanding as well. They treat you as if your at your own home. Great environment to relax and have a healthy tasty meal. My warning to you, it’s addiction. Once you eat there it’s hard not to go back. If your looking for a healthy but tasty meal, Mr shrimp is the place to go. If not, your missing out for many reasons.

I found this place very pleasant. I very much enjoyed the food. Considering I love seafood. I went here for its grand opening last year from my college class, and I immediately fell in love. I love the spicy Asian shrimp, I would pick up a right aster class on my way to work. I haven’t been there since spring, but can’t wait to go back there in fall when class starts again. The only thing I have to say is that is kind of small, for such good food I wish it was bigger and not have everyone around you.

Are here once when it first opened and I was not very impressed. I decided to give it a second chance since I work in the area and was pleasantly surprised! I’m not sure if they have new owners or cooks but the food was delicious. I had the fried oysters platter with fries and krab salad. The oysters were perfectly seasoned and prepared as well as the fries were seasoned and had a hint of lemon on them. The staff was very friendly and the restaurant nice and clean. I will definitely be back!

Be careful! You can get addicted to this place. I found out about this place from a friend when I told her that I was craving Spicy Crab legs and Shrimp from Joe’s Crab Shack. Joe’s closest restaurant is in Ft. Lauderdale and they are not exactly cheap. Mr. Shrimp has very reasonable prices for their seafood. I have not looked back at Joe’s since. I go in there about once a week. I embarrassed to say the employees know my name. I had their conch both steamed and fried and it’s delicious. I love their spicy steamed peel and eat shrimp with butter and garlic. The crab legs are also really good. Everything is made to order and is very fresh.

Service was mediocre at best, the guy who finally took my order after standing at the counter for 5 minutes was also the guy who was doing the cooking. Very inattentive, asked me 3 times while taking my order if ti was: to go”. I ordered the shrimp and fish combo with french fries and crab salad as the sides, This was $ 14.00 dollars for one small fish fillet, 6 medium shrimp a small scoop of crab salad and a really small order of french fries, TOTALLYOVERPRICEDTHETHEPORTIONS. I’ll be going to «Buds Chicken and Seafood» for my seafood combos in the future, $ 8.99 for 2 fish fillets, 6 shrimp, a huge helping of french fries, coleslaw, and 2 corn fritters. Don’t waste your time or your money at «Mr. Shrimp»

I read the reviews on Unilocal! So I decide that my wife and I would give it a try and we were not disappointed. Tammy who was managing the location did a great job on helping us select our dinner. She took her time and explain everything that was available. She answered all of my wife’s questions about the menu. My wife and I decided on the steamed shrimp and they were wonderful. It came on a bed of rice and I am not a big rice fan but it was great. I had the Krab salad and it was very good and the hush puppies was the best I have had in South Florida. They were Crispy on the outside and moist on the inside with just a bit of onion in the batter. It is not the fanciest eating place but the food was great and the prices were reasonable. I will be back!

After reading the good reviews I was excited to try the shrimp and I’m glad I did. I got take out of a half pound of steamed jumbo shell off shrimp with the krab salad and fries. The shrimp were steamed perfectly with just a touch of butter and spicy seasons. A half pound was about 14 shrimp. The fries were done just right, still soft with just a little crispy outside and the krab salad was also good. The owner was very polite and helpful while I decided what to try. I wanted just a little butter and spices and he prepared it just right. This was as good as I expected and I will be going back.
