My utter excitement and amazement as I stared down at the court full of athletes is a feeling I am unable to describe in words because they simply do not do justice to the event I witnessed yesterday. Through word of mouth I heard about the 10th Annual Wheelchair Rugby Tournament going on this weekend and decided to check it out. The Canadian, Sweden, Great Britain, German, and American teams were competing for the new champions title and they were ruthless in their attempts. I have never seen grown adults smash wheelchairs into each other like I did at this event. Everyone was having a great time, people would engage you in conversations all over the place and the competition, level of sportsmanship and skill were awe-inspiring. Not to mention there was quite a but of eye-candy to keep you entertained. If you ever have the chance to attend a Wheelchair Rugby event do so! It’s a new experience, and one you won’t regret.

A-M-A-Z-I-N-G Experience! A bit slow at first but as the crowd hypes up it gets more exciting. I was rooting for the Canada team simply because they look like a great bunch of athletes I want to go eat beavertails with, EH? EH? You people have no idea what the heck I’m talking about eh? I guess it pays to have been to Halifax. ANYCANADIANSOUTTHERE??? Anyway… The drive up was a bit tedious but so worth it. Teams from five different countries were competing as they smashed into each other and even knocked each other over. It’s enough to ruin a girl’s manicure but even then, the denver team had a pretty tough chick on their team. All the players were very nice and friendly. So go on, cheer on your local wheelchair rugby team! The closest ones are the South Florida Rattlers.
