Papa Murphy’s

My family and I have picked up pizza here quite a few times. It always turns out well and is a good bargain — especially if you order «The Faves.» Not sure why this place would have a bad review. At times they are super busy, but you can always call ahead. Their salads are huge and fresh. Really, can’t ask for more…

Not sure where these bad reviews are coming from or what people expect from take out pizza but… We have gotten take out from here several times and it has been great! We came here on Super Bowl Sunday and the service was extremely fast, they were well staffed, friendly, clean and prompt. We usually get the thin crust (very good) & a Hawaiian pizza.

Called in order, special requests, showed up and it was ready. The girl who took our order on the phone was nice and pleasant. The girl who took our money was nice and polite.

This papa murphys is as good if not better than any other papa Murphy’s out there, which makes it pretty amazing. Always fast, friendly service and always a great product. After experiencing this place first hand, I really think the other reviews are just a smear campaign by some local competitor and not at all true. Just my theory.

I used to live in a city called Martinez, CA. We had a Papa Murphys there where the owner turned out to be a registered sex offender that stole the security tape from the women’s bathroom. I had a friend that worked in another papa Murphys who admitted to adding ‘secret ingredients’ to customers pizzas.
I would visit either of those locations before I visited this one again.
Calling in an order? Better triple whatever wait time they give you and maybe your order will be ready then. Show up to pick it up? Be prepared to watch everyone in front of you order and get their food before they even start making yours. Expect plenty of attitude and no apology from the employees either.
You could pull 5 people off the street who could make their pizzas and run this location. It’s astounding they managed to get so many people who just half ass it and couldn’t care less.

One star is due to an experience I had about 1 year ago and I can’t seem to shake it because it was so bad. I always bring a coupon with me and have for years since they send them in the mail. Why spend $ 15 on an uncooked pizza when i can get a cooked one at dominos for $ 6? However with the coupon is more reasonable. I would always use the $ 6 large pepperoni pizza coupon and for years the staff had always let me add one extra topping for $ 1 more. As usual I called in my order because this place is always understaffed. I went to pick it up about an hour later and handed the coupon over. The old balding man at the register (who I believe was the manager) made a huge scene belittling me and his employees. He proceeded to yell at me (with about 7 people in line behind me) about me using my coupon for something that isn’t correct. He made sure to make the example out of me telling me that he will only honor it this one time but next time don’t even try it! He said he would be yelling at his staff for allowing this. He made me feel like I was defrauding him or something. Again, I had used this same coupon forever and it was actually an employee who told me at the beginning this was allowable. It was never my intention to do something wrong but my goodness did I feel like a criminal! Then after being yelled at I waited for my pizza for 20 min (I called it in now over 1.5 hrs ago), I finally go up and ask where my pizza is and I’m told they haven’t gotten to it yet. Tick tock 20 more minutes and I ask again. By then I am the only customer there. Ooohhh light bulb! My pizza was put in the back? It had been ready over 2 hours ago. I have vowed never to return since then which sucks for them since I was a weekly customer. I now choose to stop at a different location on my way home where I’m not treated like a criminal. I wrote the corporate office to complain but no response. Maybe if their own manager showed a bit of respect for his employees and customers they would have better ratings. Pizza is good but once you yell at me like a child you have lost my business forever!

This is the 2^nd bad experience we’ve had there in the last year. They are always understaffed and so slow. We called in an order at around 6 pm and were told it was really busy that evening, so we didn’t expect it to be ready right away. I showed up to pick up the pizza at 6:20 and was told it wasn’t done yet. Not a problem since there were about 10 people waiting in line and about 6 more waiting to pick up called in orders. After waiting for about 15 more minutes, the staff realized they hadn’t made my 2^nd pizza… so they put my order at the end of the line and made me wait. About 20 minutes later it was finally done, but then I was told I had to get to the back of the line to pay. after being there for almost 35 minutes, I begrudingly trudged to the back of the line to wait to pay. I waited in line to pay for almost 20 minutes, but only 2 people in front of me had been helped. So after almost an hour of waiting in the store for 2 pizzas that were called in ahead of time, I left without any food.

This is the second time I have gotten rotten service with a dose of crappy attitude at this establishment. 1^st time they had NO menus ANYwhere in the store and finally the person at the register handed me a take out menu??? Really? how is one expected to order without know what is avaliable??? I gave them another shot only to be rudely disappointed. Called in my order at 5:40 on a Wednesday, was told 30 minutes… wow really? I can have it BAKED and Delivered in that amount of time. So when I showed up 45 minutes later and they hadnt even STARTED my pizza I was shockled! What is the point of calling it in if I still have to wait 10 more minutes once I get there? And then the staff had the nerve to tell me «We had 40 orders ahead of you??? «On a Wednesday in Lake Stevens??? HIGHLY unlikely and NEVER was I told Sorry. They have lost my business for good. I will stop at one of the MANY Papa Murphys between my work and home from now on who know what CUSTOMER SERVICE means. Sad for a small town business to lose local customers but you should be more careful who you hire!
