Lake Station is clearly trying to update its image. While much of the town has a run down feel to it– it’s all tattoo parlours, biker bars, and strip joints named «Bubba’s” — this building is modern, airy, well designed and welcoming. The vaulted ceilings and brick interior walls, excellent lighting and spacious interior are remarkable for a small town library at the buckle of the Steel Belt. The selection of texts is also better than what you’d find in neighbouring Porter County. Evidently, Lake County provides better public services to its residents than other Northwest Indiana counties.

It exist but it is not a very imaginative facility compared to others. This is about the size I would have expected Wheeler’s library to be.
