Walleyedan

I’ve been coming to the family cabin on Gull Lake during the summer since I was a little kid, but now living in California those trips are fewer and farther between. So I wanted to make the most of the couple days I had there and decided to book a guide trip with Walleye Dan. Our guide was Dustin and he picked us up in the morning right at our dock. Within a couple minutes we had lines in the water and a few minutes after that our first few fish. Caught them pretty consistently the whole morning and my only regret is that we didn’t have time to spend a few more hours out there.
Everything was provided for fishing (rods, bait, etc.), just make sure you bring any water, snacks, and sunscreen you need and a valid fishing license. The booking process was very straightforward. I submitted an email through the website about availability. Shelley got back to me quick and I called her the next day to book. No problem with securing a time on a summer Friday morning. Sounds like they’re pretty flexible and will work with your schedule. Couldn’t recommend them more if you want to catch some fish!

We have made an annual tradition of staying on Gull Lake every summer, and this is our 4^th year. This year we decided to hire a fishing guide in hopes of my 9 year old son getting the opportunity to catch some real fish.
Booking was easy, and they had guides available for almost any time/​day I wanted within our travel schedule.
We set out for a ½ day. morning session with Jon Larson — part of the WalleyeDan team of guides. I had requested we fish for Walleye. Jon did an absolutely phenomenal job asking about our preferences, teaching us techniques and managing bait, positioning and encouragement. I was especially pleased with his attentiveness to my son.
Jon had a great personality, wealth of experience and best of all we caught several walleye in addition to Bass and Perch. We had a great walleye dinner and it was the highlight of this years trip. We’ll definitely do it again.
