Best sushi place in the O’Fallon area. Jurassic Park roll was amazing! Quick take out service and very nice. Will def go back when I am in the area again. People were very nice too.

My children are very picky eaters. So, I’m even more PLEASED when the food is so good that it has them happy and wanting to go back at least once a week. I truly LOVE the place!!!

I don’t write a lot of reviews on Unilocal but Sushi Sen was quite the treat. It doesn’t have the most extravagant décor but the food is amazing. Nestled in a shopping center this place is a nice little jewel in Lake St Louis. Highly recommend it and you must get the Lake St Louis roll. Enjoy!

I took the advice of a fellow Unilocaler and tried this sushi«on the other side of the lake». My experience was not as positive. It does feel a bit more authentic, especially since most of the staff speaks little to no English. The sushi chef’s seemed to be able to communicate with the guests at their bar but there was a lot of pointing going on. Our server seemed to understand but it felt like she was just agreeing and nodding. Our first experience was take out so I reserved my review for after we tried again. Unfortunately, I wasn’t impressed with either experience. In full disclosure, I’m über picky with sushi. For me, it’s all about the wrap and freshness of the seaweed. I wasn’t able to actually bite through the roll beyond the precut slices and ended up pulling it back out of my mouth. On both occasions it just wasn’t edible. Beyond that, the flavor was ok but everything tastes good with cream cheese right? My son had the Miso soup, which didn’t have much flavor at all and a shrimp appetizer which was overpriced for 3 pieces of shrimp. During our dine in experience I only ate one piece of the roll I ordered, expressed that I didn’t care for it and they still charged me for it. As much as we need more good restaurants in Lake St. Louis I just can’t give this one more than 2 stars and I doubt we’ll try it again.

Can’t say enough good things about them! Though I wish they were located in a more convenient place but the food and service totally worth the 30 minute drive! I’ve enjoyed Kenji’s mastery in sushi preparation for almost two decades and he has yet to let me down.

This is a fantastic sushi restaurant! The service is fast and food excellent. My husband and I and our kids love the Lake St. Louis roll and avocado rolls as well as their combo dinners. Very filling! My daughter and I can share a Lake St. Louis roll and avocado roll for lunch and be filled! We were here for lunch yesterday and heading back for dinner with hubby tonight! Try their Thai iced tea also– it’s great! Reminds me of Thailand!

Been here twice — ate in and carry out. Both times the food was great. Good service. The sushi is some of the best I have had… Better than some of the big name/expensive places. Fair prices, especially for lunch specials. The interior of the restaurant is great as well, decorated with a nice atmosphere. I originally tried sushi sen based off the Unilocal reviews. You won’t be disappointed!!!

Decent sushi, fish tasted pretty fresh. Quiet place in a middle of a shopping strip. A bit costly. Me and hubby got 3 rolls, and 5 nigiris and spent about $ 50. But then again sushi is never the cheapest meal to go.

This is one of my favorite places. My only regret is that I didn’t locate this place sooner. Nice polite, professional staff and excellent food. I used to live in West County and a couple of my go-to sushi restaurants began to severely skimp on portion size while increasing their prices. Happy to discover Sushi Sen serves regular-sized sushi rolls that melt in your mouth! Don’t be dissuaded by the tacky Huck’s gas station that was just added to the adjoining parking lot — once inside the spacious restaurant, it’s very cozy and welcoming.

This is a gem of a restaurant tucked away in Lake St. Louis. The food is exceptional and ths family owned business has incredibly friendly wait staff. I eat lunch here at least once a week every single week. Highly recommended!

Sushi is very good but service(and the take out service) can be iffy. Not rude service, just slow. If you want good sushi in St Chuck, this is one of the better ones. Just keep in mind that the service probably will be on the slow side.

We love this place and eat there quite a bit. Our favorite rolls are Spicy Tuna, the Crazy Roll, the Philadelphia Roll, and the Sunset Roll. These are must tries if you have never been. We have eaten sushi all over St. Louis before moving out here and Sushi Sen is our favorite. Thank you for all your hard work in creating art that is edible!

This might be my favorite overall sushi place in the St. Louis area. I started eating sushi about 20 years ago at Tachibana up on Olive and have had the pleasure of eating Kenji’ food since that time. He’s simply the best — friendly, cheerful, and an awesome sushi chef. While I don’t get up here as often as I’d like, I’m always excited when I’m in the area. The fish is very fresh and you know each and every maki and nigiri is made with care. Happy to patronize such a wonderful establishment.

Agree with all the reviews. The sushi was very good. I especially loved the rainbow roll and the ikura was very fresh and generous. The salmon sushi was OK, but could have been fattyier and more generous. The prices are high but if that’s what it takes to get quality in this area I guess it’s worth it. It’s unfortunate they don’t deliver or I would order more often.

Clean, friendly, a little more expensive than other local places, but this is the best quality.

This is hands down the best sushi restaurant in St. Louis. Kenji-san used to be the head chef at Tachibana in Creve Couer and truly is the best Sushi chef in the state of Missouri. The place is small and a little quiet, but they are expanding in the new future, doubling the size of the restaurant. If money is not an issue, I would recommend sitting at the sushi bar and asking Kenji for his own personal selection for Nigiri. His technique and skill and knowledge of fish is incomparable. Otherwise, his chirashi bowl is a great deal and gives you a lot of variety. I typically don’t like rolls, especially the Americanized ones(anything with cream cheese), but the 2 rolls that I get here every time are the Lake St Louis Roll and the Lobster roll. They’re a little more expensive but they are definitely worth it. I don’t live in St. Louis anymore, but when I visit in the future, I will definitely be coming here every time.

This is pretty decent spot close to my house. I’ve only had take-out; I have never dined in. Enjoy :)
