Steak ‘n Shake

This is literally the worst fast food restaurant I’ve ever been to. I have over 10 years and every level of restaurant experience and I am giving this place five chances at different times of Nyden day with different orders and different quantities and the order has always been wrong, cold (despite ridiculous waiting times) and the service is consistently terrible!

The drive through manager forgot to put my extra cheese sauce in the bag and I had said so to her at the drive through window and she asked for the bag back as if I had been lying about not recieving the extra cheese sauce. So that was interesting. I’m not too sure how many people lie about sauce and condiments to them… But I must say I love feeling like I’m a criminal about extra cheese sauce that I ordered and paid for. Makes me feel worse about ordering fast food ha. Never again. So thank you steak n shake for making sure I stay healthy and stay far away from your restaurant. If I had the option to select zero stars… I would.

Awful, slow service and dirty store. Food was cold when we got it. When they asked us «How was everything?», we said slow service and cold food. The cashier told us, «What do you expect, it’s Steak N Shake.» Well then, won’t go there ever again.

I am currently waiting in drive thru and have been here for 35 min. Seems to be making food one car at a time.

This is a super sloooow Steak N Shake and about half the time my to-​go order is incorrect and usually missing something. The staff isn’t very friendly and does not seem to care if the wait is slow or the order is inaccurate.

Apparently ½ price shakes means you don’t get a full shake. It took forever to get my food and then when I got it the shakes weren’t full to the top.

I have lived nearby for 2 years now yet avoid this place like the plague. I know Steak-​n-​Shake is not known for its service but this location has the worst service I have ever seen anywhere bar none. I don’t mean just restaurants either. Walmart service comes to mind. So consistently understaffed that I have never had my food in under 30 min in the 3 times I have been served, (I have left 2 other times after not being served), and this is for drive thru. If not for lack of other nearby options after 11 pm I doubt anyone would subject themselves to this service willingly. It would be easy to blame the employees who are often rude and obviously don’t care, but management needs to step up or sell out. It’s such a laughably bad experience every single time. I have seen some horrible service but these guys are the best at consistently providing it. Even if you live nearby it’s faster to just go to the one in Wentzville. If I actually went into details of the disfunction this review would be pages long, and they have already taken too much of my time. Just picture anything that you call horrible service and I am sure they meet the criteria.

For a place that has a drive-​thru it should not take more than twenty-​five minutes to get food out to the tables. I say more than because after twenty-​five minutes we left. What ever happened to in sight it must be right?

This s Steak and Shake WAS one of the best around BUT now it has really bottomed out. You wait forever to get service and nobody seems to care anymore
I have been a loyal customer of Steak and Shake since I was a teenager, and that is a long long time. Great company. Great food Let’s put more pressure on the Store Managers to run it like it was for years and years.

Worst steak n shake ever. My wife and I live really close to this location and have tried numerous times to give it another chance. Every time it gets worse. Once a waiter spilled a whole tray of iced tea on my wife and into her purse. All he said was sorry. Don’t waste your time or money.

I would give them zero stars if possible. After sitting and waiting to even speak to a server, three tables and ours got up and walked out. I stopped and spoke to the manager and told her how disappointed we were. I will be taking this location off my go to list. Steak and Shake management needs to fix this as I know I’m not the only one experiencing such bad service.

Sat for 10 minutes with no service. Don’t waste your time because they don’t care. We got up and walked out and headed to the White Castle down the road.

I’m giving this 2 stars. I’d give it one but I’m blaming not only the staff who just cannot keep up with the work load but also some of the patrons who are just so blasted messy. Seriously tables completely trashed, sticky crap on the floor. It’s like people no longer feel responsible or good manners anymore, it’s NOT ok to allow your child to run the restaurant while the rest of the paying customers try to eat. The food itself tastes ok but the night I was there (Friday)we came in after dinner rush, ordered and after having a better look around put off by the grime. Yes the store needs a complete overhaul in training but customers need to be respectful too. Eat like you’re in your own home… not a pasture.

Avoid this location. My wife and I wrote this place off last year after several bad experiences and vowed to never go back. Tonight we did go back hoping things were better, but no such luck. Place was hardly busy and after being seated we waited 15 minutes before we had to ask one of the clueless employees if we were ever going to be waited on. Up to that point, no one even acknowledged we were there. It started to become a game for us to see how long it would take for them to wait on us. When another table was seated and waited on immediately, we decided to leave and let the manager know why on the way out. He offered nothing but excuses.

Pretty sub-​par. I am a fan of Steak and Shake, but not this one. You can just feel that the staff has no pride in their establishment. Tables sat unclean the entire time we were there, and the walls and floors were disgusting.

Of all the Steak n Shake’s I’ve been to all over this country, no way have I been to one in the same vicinity of terrible as this location! We are soon moving to a home near here and we will gladly drive out of our way to another location before even considering this place again!

This is the worst Steak ‘n Shake I have ever been too. I spent over an hour waiting for my food. They lost the ticket, and I still had to pay for everything but my shake and a $ 1 tea. Saw the waiter maybe three times total. And saw him constantly running his hand through his hair. Disgusting. I am also hypoglycemic and was having an episode during all of this. I will never visit this location again that’s for sure.

I think I would need to do a works cited page/​bibliography for all of the past reviews. SIMPLY PUT, the service was horrible, the food was cold, and the place was dirty. Please don’t waste your time here!

Holy horrible, our server was is like a zombie. Damn girl put a smile on your face. Food was meh, and they messed up on our shake (mocha instead of chocolate). This place is a joke, but teenagers run it, so what can you expect… Don’t come to the inside, just go through the drive thru!

How can people sit down and write a one star review for Steak and Shake. Our service was great, the food was hot, and just what I expected after eating Steak & Shake for decades.
Come on people, do you think that this is Tony’s?
