Lowe’s

Uggh… I don’t think it matters which Lowe’s we go to.
We’ve attempted a couple of time to have Lowe’s do some work in our home.
Not quite sure why we’ve tried more than once.
The home installation department is horrid.
Unqualified, lazy people are the preferred candidates for hiring into this department.
We were in the market for a water heater.
The employee claimed he was qualified and able to help us make a selection on a new water heater.
After coming home and doing some research of our own it is apparent that shopping at the local Lowe’s store IS NOT the appropriate route.
Every option that we discussed with the store, and was told we could do, CAN NOT BE DONE!
Total waste of time.
AGAIN!
The cashier’s are nice, but unless your shopping for duct tape or light bulbs I would not recommend Lowe’s.

The staff is always helpful, even if they can’t point you in the right direction. They have pretty good deals on just about everything, and the store is very organized.

Hard to effectively review a Lowe’s — It’s a hardware store that happens to be very near my house (mile or two). I’ve spent far too much money at this store since we basically built half of our house using parts from Lowe’s. Not to say that’s bad… it’s convenient to have a Lowe’s in our backyard.
Sadly, the nearest competitor is the Home Depot all the way over on Hwy K. You’ll find that some items are higher at this store than normal, and it’s probably because there’s a lack of competition in Lake Saint Louis.
To the last reviewer — I’m not sure why you called Wentzville and not Lake Saint Louis. This location posts signs that show the time-​switch for more than a month in advance. They go between winter and summer hours, like EVERY other hardware chain store… I don’t think it’s fair to blame the store since it’s pretty standard.
There’s nothing really special about this store, though I do prefer it over the O’Fallon store. The Wentzville store is larger, but the LSL store is organized better (except for plumbing).

I dutifully checked the Lowe’s website to confirm the hours of my friendly Lowe’s store in LSL. 10 pm was the weekday closing time. I arrive at 9.33 pm, only to find that the store was closed. I return home, and the web page is still on my screen and shows 10 pm.
Then, when I go to check the Wentzville location (which I called at 9.35 pm … and the automated greeting message informed me that the Wentzville location was already closed for the night), I see that the website shows 9 pm. Cycle back to LSL, and low-​and-​behold, the site now shows 9 pm.
Whatever. Sloppy execution, sent this prospective customer out on the road, only to waste gas and precious night-​time minutes due to a poorly choreographed communication system.
